The last Vampire with the Hero summoner system: I get 5x their powers-Chapter 70: Gamble of a Deal and Suneater
Are you fucking kidding me?! Even the tigers are racist?
"They’re the unfortunate survivor of the Nocthra incident, My lord. They are friends."
"Did you knew that the boy is Frieda’s direct descendent? Maybe... Even her son."
I felt like I was completely naked infront of the pitch black pupils of Suneater. Why was he called that, kind of edgy name if I was being real.
"...I was not aware, my lord. But, I can vow on my and my ancestors name that they mean us no harm."
Aww. This actually made me change my mind on purely free loading. I would hear what Pazuzu wants from me properly. These guys have been a huge help.
"Well you’re now. I won’t allow the girl, either. She possesses some of her spiritual energy. Just drop them outside hell palace."
Huh? My eyes dilated as I shared a look with Alya. She had a similar reaction.
This needs to be investigated. Since Mommy vampire might be a villain.
Lines appeared on Suge’s forehead. He clearly didn’t even imagine Suneater being this persistent since he bothered not to even mention it to us. "My Lord... Lord Pazuzu wants—"
"I know that. I will explain it to him myself. We cannot have anything do with Vampires in general. But the ones connected to Freida? They are to avoided like the plague!" He was directly cut of by the snarky tone of Suneater.
"Can you at least explain why, dude... My lord?" I asked with narrowed eyes. His treatment was getting annoying but I still put on my most respectful expression.
Suneater sat on all fours like a cat, "If there was a ploy by her, I am not certain of stopping it. Nor is Pazuzu. My only interest is the safety of the people here." He yawned afterwards. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Well, that was pretty blunt and sound reasoning.
Suddenly, I felt Subaru’s cold grip on my shoulder, "It’s a waste of precious time. We should respect his wishes foremost."
I sighed deeply, "I get that. But Subaru... we can’t even use Arcana right now. We need a safe place, preparation and a good plan if we want to survive another Alyndra."
"Hm. You’ve certainly grown arrogant infront of me, Lucien. But I suppose it’s to be expected from the world where weak gets eaten by the strong." Subaru’s black eyes stared right in my eyes as his voice deepened.
"No, I was just trying to help." I shrugged, why would I look down a guy as strong, experienced and filled with knowledge like him.
It would be like kicking a temporarily exiled crowned prince on the butt knowing he will become a king. I’d rather built a relationship with the prince than and there.
"Haha." He just chuckled expressionlessly at my words. It clearly wasn’t a chuckle.
As I thought about what might have offended him, I quickly found my answer. "Right, you would know that, of course. My bad, Subaru. I was really just trying to help. What do you think, getting out of here would be better?"
He was surprised for just a moment before he shook his head. "I know the recipe of Veils we would need, but the lacking material would be a fairly big challenge for us."
"Right. So, we can’t just leave unless we really really have to."
"Hm. My point is to respect what he wishes for. Thus, we need to give him something that would make our value increase in it’s eyes. So much so that he ignores everything about you." Subaru explained with curled lips.
My eyes brightened but they dimmed equally quick. His power... He’s far far stronger than Jah or Alyndra. And, he literally has the entire Empire under him from the looks of it.
All I have is some stolen silver and bronze pounds.
When I was just thinking, Subaru began moving, getting right infront of Suneater.
Suneater glanced at him and the next second, the pitch black of his pupils trembled for the first time.
"That Katana..." Suneater muttered.
"This is Infinity sword." Subaru raised the long katana tied on his waist, sheathed tightly in it’s black scabbard.
It was the same katana that had a pure black blade with red patches able to cancel anything by removing the existence of it.
If Alyndra hadn’t drained Arcana, the fight with him would’ve been over in a single second really anti-climactically.
Suneater’s eyes were stuck on the ominous aura of the katana.
"The name infinity was given to it because the power it can exude is without any limit.
It’s also enchanted with the blessings of three Mythical grade beings that able it to be unbreakable.
Always be the sharpest blade to ever exist (It will increase it’s sharpness if a blade sharper than it is existing in the same reality it is.)
Third blessing, I have no information on. But, it’s the only sword capable of wielding the authority of existence. It was made for that purpose."
Suneater audibly gulped. I could understand him. It was crazy. It seemed to me like the best weapon to ever exist.
Subaru continued, "Thus, it has the power to stop anything from existing no matter what or who it is. Even Mythical grade beings who exist in the state of reality can be removed."
"Who is this man?" Suneater asked Suge before he turned back to Subaru, "Why are you telling me this?"
"If I heard you correctly, what you want is an assurance of safety of the people of this Empire. It doesn’t mean you don’t trust vampires, or won’t allow us to enter if that assurance wasn’t fulfilled."
"Correct." Suneater stood from his spot, quickly calming himself. He didn’t feel any threat from Subaru but it might be a trap. He was holding the sword that could kill him with a touch.
"I can let you borrow it."
Huh?! I had lost my composure completely.
"Are you sure?" Suneater seemed to have guessed what Subaru’s intentions were.
"Yes. And, you can take us three’s blood. Whenever you see us as a threat, remove our existence. I am sure you can understand how to use it fairly quickly. "
"Wait. I didn’t agree to that!" I screamed. What the fuck? Why am I risking getting mine and Alya’s existence removed on the mood of a panther I just met?
"We can trust him. Trust me." Subaru said without turning back.
I was not convinced.
Alya interrupted, "Even if we could trust it, we cannot give the power to remove our existence to him. We won’t have anything in control. The same logic that prompts him to not allow us inside would apply to us then. We won’t be in control!"
She was naturally agitated. She was right. It was stupid.
"I will accept your terms." Suneater interrupted, walking closer to Subaru.
Subaru glanced at me. His eyes were full of certainty.
"Hm. Alya, you’re correct. But, there simply is not a better option other than trusting him."
Subaru’s tone sounded too shrewd to believe on something like trust.
Suneater sat on the ground, his tone softened, "I will not lie or misuse your trust. I will return the katana and every drop of the blood taken as you leave. I am strong enough to kill you with a glance anyway.
I wouldn’t need such ploys. But, if there was even the smallest chance of Freida attacking, I would like absolute certainty."
He yawned like a cat again, "In the end, it’s your choice. If you want to enter someone’s house, you better follow their rules to be welcomed."
"He doesn’t seem to be lying." Alya nodded as her skill was activated but her tone was as uncertain as it could. As it should be since beings at his level could probably bypass a skill at lower level.
I looked at Subaru again.
After a who minute of staring, I confirmed something.
I grabbed Alya’s hand and flashed a reassuring smile before nodding to Suneater.
"Okay, I choose to trust your word then, my lord." I said respectfully.
Subaru’s smile widened as he passed the katana.
Suneater nodded, clearly in a much better mood. He cutely picked up the blade with his mouth, tightening his jaw around the blade.
"This is one of the strongest authorities I have seen." He said as he walked past us. His voice wasn’t hindered by holding a katana in it’s jaw.
"You sound like you have wielded an authority before, my lord." Subaru said curiously as he passed us the brown bowl he had poured his blood in, by cutting his thumb with the dagger I stole from the cell.
"I have wielded an authority before. It’s how I have earned my name." He said mysteriously.
"Oh! Suneater? It allowed you to eat the sun or something? Can you share more details?" I asked rather enthusiastically, passing the wooden bowl to Alya as the thumb I cut healed instantly.
"Haha..." He chuckled softly at my curiosity, "It was the authority of light. I shone brighter than the sun, thus the name. I "ate" the sun."
So he became a brighter sun than the sun? That was cool and all but what did it do?
As I was thinking, the grassy plain infront of me wobbled.
Stimulus overwhelmed my eyes as they widened. So... this is where beast kin live...
It was exceptional. Once in lifetime sight.
