The last Vampire with the Hero summoner system: I get 5x their powers-Chapter 68: It was finally over
"Are you sure? Vanitas looks like he wants to talk with you." Alya whispered in my ear as we watched trembling slaves walk through the ominous purple gate.
"He is Luci’s ally. Not sure if I feel comfortable with them right now, honestly." I shrugged, giving her the same reasoning of meeting both of ’em later when I am strong enough.
From the way he was standing by Luci, he clearly looked like a minion of her. Maybe he was the one who released her?
But lowkey, if he was alright, he should’ve at least informed us at the meeting spot. I was really bearing the guilt of leaving a comrade behind for him.
Kobi showed no intentions of moving, moving his head in all directions and sniffing audibly, looking for someone.
I could guess who. That really overpowered illusion kid, Grant.
"I can’t sense him anywhere. Maybe, captains got him first. They know of his existence from past missions and have some hatred for him." Suge patted Kobi’s shoulder as his deep voice instantly made Kobi’s face grim.
"He cannot be defeated." Kobi schooled his expression and replied seriously.
"Dad..." Ren suspected Kobi was coping, which was probably kind of true. "Ren says, we leave now. Another overload wants us dead."
"She can reach us almost instantaneously if she desires. Only thing stopping her is Jah, probably. We will leave." Suge said in the most irrefutable tone.
"No, we can’t leave Grant!" Zhenny chimed in, her voice as resolute as it could get.
"Let them be. We are leaving. Whoever wants to stay, stay." Laso said in a rather softer tone, massaging his fox tail as he leaned on the wall beside the ominous purple gate.
"I am sorry, Kobi, but we are not waiting." Suge let go of Kobi’s shoulder, joining the Alphas who were leaving.
Kobi clenched his fists as Zhenny fanatically looked around, probably pondering over talking to Louise.
But I doubted anyone would change their mind. Because even I didn’t feel like that.
Backup from church and Mari Swan was coming, and whoever wants me dead must also be sending some big names after me, so every second was scary in this hell hole.
"It’s not in your control, Kobi. Let’s just leave." I tried to comfort him, but his face remained bitter. Changing his mind was impossible too.
From how he looked, he had rather stay here and wait than to possibly leave Grant behind.
I shared a glance with Suge, who was just pretending to leave, and our bodies flashed from their original position, blurring behind Kobi and Zhenny.
With [Eye of Sanguine], I instantly located the best spot to knock her out and, the next moment, hit it with a karate chop before she could even realise I was behind her.
The stat increase had clearly made me much stronger than her now. Suge was carrying Kobi on his shoulder too, his face dim.
Laso sighed deeply as he motioned us to come. Even though he sounded cruel at first, he shared the same mood.
As I stepped inside the ominous gate with Alya and Zhenny in a piggyback carry, my entire body felt like it was eaten by the space itself, chewed for what felt like hours, and then spat away.
My head wobbled as Zhenny almost fell from my arms. We were at a different location.
Proof was the smell. It wasn’t of polished bricks or scented candles, but wet grass and monsoon wind.
But my vision and hearing was disoriented, millions of colours spinning all around me as a strange whistling, irritating sound screeched in my ears.
After a few seconds of standing still, the headache-inducing sound finally stopped.
I blinked twice. It was beautiful. It was a grassy plain, spread out as far as my eyes could see.
Kind of itchy, but warm and familiar rays of sunlight brushed my skin, prompting me to look up at the sky. It was cloudy.
But some rays of golden sunlight had escaped from gaps. I half thought sunlight would turn me to ashes, but I guess not.
I took a few deep breaths. After smelling so much human shit, blood, and corpses, it all felt extremely pleasant.
Gently, I placed Zhenny on the soft grass, falling on my knees. I spread my arms as wide as could, letting the cool air hit my body pleasantly.
Alya was staring at the sky’s horizon, her mouth agape as her body tingled visibly. She seemed to be almost in disbelief.
I raised my arm, tightening my fingers around her soft and warm palm. "It won’t ever get like that now."
Her eyes trembled at my words, a single tear flowing from her eye as she crouched as well.
I didn’t say it won’t ever get bad, because it probably will. We were in that kind of situation where survival was not guaranteed.
But let her get tortured or die so she kills herself, no! That will never happen again! Not in my watch!
My eyes widened as she jumped on me without hesitation, her soft body fully pushing me on the ground as she wrapped her warm arms around my face, pulling me closer to her like I was a great treasure.
"I know." She said with a brilliant smile, chuckling a little as she pressed her forehead on my head.
My lips parted before they curled upwards in a soft smile, "...Good to know."
I hugged her back as she fell beside me on the soft grass. My face pressed further on her marshmallow-like, comfy breasts, my vision going black.
The smell of grass and air almost vanished, only Alya’s natural womanly fragrance mixed with her sweat and blood remaining. It felt good.
We stayed like this for a probably ten minutes. Still like a pair of rocks. Without a care of anything else. She needed it.
And I needed it more.
It was really terrifying. Even though I was unable to feel fear because of my new vampire heart, the suffocating pressure was unbearable.
I glanced at Alya’s beautiful face. She smiled back. Then she kissed my forehead.
Her lips were soft and warm and wet.
As if realising what she had done, she blushed and pushed me back in her cleavage again, burying me completely in her warmth and scent.
It was finally over.
