The Lady of the Prestigious Family is a Big Boss-Chapter 867: Daddy Has Money (3)
"We’ve finalized the endorsement offer we picked, and we’ll start filming in a few days."
She chattered on, but the person opposite her seemed absent-minded, not sure how much he actually heard.
Once the shoot is over, who knows when they’ll meet again next time.
After waiting for a while and getting no response, like a stone dropped into the sea, Chen Xin looked up at him, "Big boss, did you hear anything I just said?"
Ji Mingqian snapped out of his daze, looking at her with confusion, "What did you say?"
She knew he wasn’t listening, so Chen Xin rolled her eyes. Just as she was about to speak, a knock on the door interrupted her.
"Knock knock knock..."
Chen Xin put down her tablet and resignedly got up to open the door.
Ji Mingqian held their second child, his face sullen, mood at rock bottom.
Shortly after, Chen Xin closed the door and returned, holding a thermos cup.
"Big Boss, did you buy a new thermos cup?"
Ji Mingqian glanced at the thermos absent-mindedly, "Who gave it?"
"The waiter said it was sent by Jiang Yisheng, and said you left it at his place."
No sooner had she finished than a shadow flickered past her.
Chen Xin watched as the thermos landed in Ji Mingqian’s hand, her lips twitching slightly.
Such quick reflexes.
No wonder he doesn’t need a stunt double for those dangerous, high-difficulty scenes; his skills are top-notch.
Ji Mingqian unscrewed the lid, the rich aroma of coffee wafting into his nose, a scent he knew all too well.
He didn’t need to taste it to know whose hand brewed this coffee.
He curled his lips into a smirk, stepping forward to leave.
Just then, the phone in his pocket vibrated wildly.
He fished out the phone, saw the caller ID, and quickly answered, "Where are you?"
"Did you get the thermos?" On the other end of the line, Jiang Yisheng watched the people walking to and fro in the departure hall, his expression somber.
Ji Mingqian’s sharp ears picked up the sound of the airport broadcast, a bad feeling in his gut, he asked, "Where are you now?"
The expected answer came, "Airport."
Ji Mingqian’s face turned dark, and he left without a word.
There was a moment of silence on the other end before Jiang Yisheng’s voice sounded again, "I’m about to board the plane. Take care."
Not giving him a chance to speak, the call was swiftly cut off.
Ji Mingqian looked down at the thermos in his hand, a hint of anger flashing between his brows.
Heartless guy.
"Big BOSS, are you okay?" Chen Xin looked at the person frozen in place, warily asking when she saw the changeable expressions on his face.
Ji Mingqian spoke with a cold voice, "Book a ticket, leaving now."
Realizing his mood wasn’t the best, Chen Xin didn’t dare to ask more, promptly picking up her phone to book a flight ticket.
...
Three years later.
The scorching sun beamed down, even the stray dogs on the street sought shade under the trees.
"Screech—"
With a flashy drift, a black sports car pulled up in front of the shopping center.
The car door opened, and a man’s long, slender leg was the first thing to catch the passersby’s eyes.
The gaze moved up to see that handsome face, suddenly taking everyone’s breath away.
Is that the CEO of MK Group?
Did they actually see him in person today?
Just having finished a meeting, Li Mochan had received Ye Jiuliang’s call and rushed over without delay.
Shutting the car door, Li Mochan walked quickly and hurriedly into the building.
Upon reaching the children’s toy section, he looked around, catching sight of a graceful silhouette not far away.
Li Mochan walked over at a leisurely pace, extending his long arm to effortlessly pull her into his embrace.
"What are you doing standing here?"
The low, magnetic voice sounded in her ear, very enticing.
Ye Jiuliang instinctively leaned into his arms, tilted her head to look at him, her exquisite eyebrows and eyes tinged with a slightly helpless smile.
"Control your son; he’s been squatting there for almost half an hour now and refuses to leave." She said, raising her hand to point diagonally opposite.
Whoever said three-year-olds are easy to trick hasn’t met her brainy little one.
Li Mochan raised an eyebrow, following her line of sight, seeing a little guy squatting in front of the shelf, staring fixedly at the toy car in front of him.
This scene looked a bit familiar.
He glanced back at the person in his arms nonchalantly. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
The little brat at home really does resemble this.
"What are you looking at me for? Are you going to do something?" Ye Jiuliang tugged at his lapel, urging him.
Li Mochan chuckled, thin lips parting slightly, "Xiaobai."
With those words, the little squatter on the opposite side stirred.
The next moment, the little guy turned his face, and upon seeing Li Mochan, broke into a brilliant smile.
With the same eyebrows and eyes as Li Mochan, the smile, however, was incredibly similar to Ye Jiuliang’s when she sneaks a laugh.
"Daddy."
Little Xiaobai stood up and sprinted towards Li Mochan, his soft baby voice piercing the hearts of the nearby young ladies.
Li Mochan bent down, effortlessly scooping him up, tickling his nose with a fingertip, knowingly asking, "What were you doing squatting there?"
Xiaobai hugged Li Mochan’s neck, his baby voice innocent, "I want a little motorcycle, but Jiujiu won’t let me buy it."
Despite being only three years old, this little guy is articulate, and his thought process is clear, not easy to fool.
"I’ve told you to call her Mommy." Li Mochan corrected for the umpteenth time.
"It’s Jiujiu." Xiaobai shook his little head, articulating clearly.
Watching the father and son about to argue over this issue again, Ye Jiuliang sighed, a headache creeping in.
Perhaps because her family calls her Xiaojiu often, the little guy had taken to calling her Jiujiu from the time he started speaking, only calling her Mommy when he sought her protection from his daddy’s reprimands.
Li Mochan set him down, and Xiaobai ran back to the motorcycle, tiptoeing with his short legs, face turning red as he huffed and puffed.
Having witnessed this scene many times, Ye Jiuliang still couldn’t help but laugh.
Finally, after expending great effort, Xiaobai climbed onto the motorcycle, gripping the handlebars, grinning broadly, showing a row of baby teeth.
"Daddy, want to buy it."
Ye Jiuliang tugged on Li Mochan’s sleeve, signaling him not to agree, "Xiaobai, we already have plenty of motorcycles at home. We can’t buy any more."
People say he looks like his daddy, but his likes are just like hers.
Among those, motorcycles top the list.
The little guy loves them, and the family indulges him. By now, these motorcycles probably fill two or three rooms at home.
Xiaobai lifted his head, eyes like black obsidian shining brightly, his little mind calculating swiftly, "Jiujiu has lots of motorcycles, Jiujiu can buy, and Xiaobai wants to buy, too."
Ye Jiuliang was at a loss for words, "Mommy doesn’t have money. If Xiaobai wants to buy a motorcycle, you have to pay for it yourself."
"Daddy has money." Xiaobai replied confidently in his baby voice.
Li Mochan chuckled softly, Ye Jiuliang shot him a sideways glance, these father and son pair were her kryptonite.
"You better lay down the law."
Li Mochan stifled his laughter, clearing his throat, "Xiaobai, Daddy’s money all belongs to Mommy, you need Mommy’s permission to buy things."
"Did you hear that? Unless Xiaobai can afford it on his own." Ye Jiuliang raised an eyebrow, her tone a mix of amusement and pride.
Xiaobai’s little brows furrowed, pursing his lips, his pale hand reaching into his overalls’ pocket, rummaging around for a while.
