The Lady of the Prestigious Family is a Big Boss-Chapter 732, if you like it, go for it (2)
"Does the old Mr. Mo have a place where he hides?"
"Grandpa lives on the island all year round and rarely goes anywhere else."
"Does your Mo Family have other secret places?"
"The small island where Grandpa lives."
Ye Jiuliang frowned, realizing it would be impossible to get Mo Su to disclose the elder Mr. Mo’s hiding place.
"Who is the person your Grandpa trusts the most?"
"The butler of the Mo Family."
"Then, is there someone called Wang Shuo around your Grandpa?"
Once this was said, Mo Su fell silent for a moment, her eyes carrying a flicker of doubt as if she were falling into a memory.
After a moment, she nodded, "Yes, I’ve seen him occasionally on Grandpa’s island."
Ye Jiuliang’s cold pupils shined slightly, "What do you know about him? Did your Grandpa erase his memory?"
"I don’t know. I’ve only met him once. Grandpa only calls him over for matters and has never mentioned him to me."
Knowing he couldn’t get anything more out of her, Ye Jiuliang stood up and walked out.
The effects of the medicine had not yet dissipated, so Mo Su was still looking lost.
...
In the evening, the setting sun painted the sky with a brilliant glow.
A cool breeze sneaked in through the window, and the lights in the hospital room were already on.
Jiang Yisheng was leaning against the window, his damp hair tousled by the wind, and his thin white shirt emphasizing his slender figure.
He raised his hand toward the window, the breeze passing over it, cool and pleasant.
Lost in thought, he didn’t notice someone entering the room.
"What are you doing by the window?"
A magnetic voice suddenly sounded, pulling Jiang Yisheng back from his own world.
He turned around, and their eyes met in the air.
A trace of astonishment crossed his face but was quickly concealed.
Jiang Yisheng looked away, his voice mild, "Didn’t you leave?"
"I’m pleased to, and I wish to," Ji Mingqian walked over and carelessly threw the car keys on the bedside table.
Noticing the change of clothes on him, he frowned, "You’re blowing in the wind right after taking a shower?"
Jiang Yisheng said nothing, his gaze fixed on the scenery outside the window.
The indifferent attitude was like a bucket of cold water thrown over him. Ji Mingqian’s handsome face grew slightly grim, but recalling Li Mochan’s words, the shallow anger in his heart dissipated instantly.
He rose and walked to a nearby cabinet, opened the door, and there was only a single piece of luggage inside.
Ji Mingqian reached out his hand to unzip it and searched inside.
Unable to watch anymore, Jiang Yisheng walked over, "What are you searching for?"
"A jacket."
Not finding the jacket, Ji Mingqian closed the cabinet door.
He glanced at Jiang Yisheng’s short-sleeved shirt, then took off his own jacket.
"Put this on."
Jiang Yisheng stepped back and said awkwardly, "I’m not cold."
"Your face looks like a ghost’s, and the injuries on your body haven’t healed yet. If you catch a cold now, I wouldn’t want to be your caretaker all the time," Ji Mingqian stuffed the jacket into his arms, his tone pretending to be fierce, "Put it on right now."
Jiang Yisheng threw the jacket back to him, stubbornly saying, "I don’t need it."
Ji Mingqian narrowed his eyes, shook the jacket, and forcibly draped it over his shoulders, "Don’t refuse, wear it now."
Up close, Jiang Yisheng could smell a very light scent of alcohol on him. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
"Have you been drinking?"
Ji Mingqian glanced at him sideways, "You have the nose of a hound, I see."
After coming out from Chu Chen’s place, he went to see Burn and had a couple of drinks before he came here.
With such a strong wind blowing, he thought all scents would have been dispersed. He didn’t expect his drink to still be detectable.
Jiang Yisheng, "..."
In the meantime, Ji Mingqian had already grabbed one of his arms and was shoving it into a sleeve.
He was so rough that he almost twisted his arm.
Jiang Yisheng said irritably, "I’m not cold, I don’t need to wear a coat."
"Your hand is as cold as ice, don’t talk nonsense about not being cold," Ji Mingqian retorted and, without listening to him, stuffed his other arm into the sleeve.
Jiang Yisheng frowned, and said urgently, "You’ve twisted my arm."
Ji Mingqian quickly let go and examined his shoulder, "Where did it get hurt?"
Jiang Yisheng raised his hand to rub his arm and gave him a sidelong glance, then changed the subject, "Have you had dinner?"
Ji Mingqian sat down by the bed, "I haven’t even had lunch yet, let alone dinner."
Upon hearing he hadn’t had lunch, something flickered in Jiang Yisheng’s eyes. He was about to speak when more people arrived.
And it wasn’t just one person.
"Asheng, I made your favorite dishes, and Jennifer even made soup for you. Come and try it," Veya walked in with bags, followed by Jennifer.
Jiang Yisheng was stunned. Why was she here again?
Wasn’t what he said at noon clear enough?
"You’re quite the lucky man to have someone make soup for you," Ji Mingqian said sourly.
"Jiang Yisheng, you’ve got a nice match there."
Jiang Yisheng gave him a cold look, "Like it? Why don’t you chase after her?"
The careless tone successfully eased Ji Mingqian’s irritation, and he humphed, "Who would want her."
"Oh, Mingqian is here too," Veya put the food containers on the table, turned her head and saw Ji Mingqian was there as well, her lips curved slightly, "Have you had dinner? If not, come and join us."
"Then thank you, Auntie," Ji Mingqian smoothly chimed in.
"Brother Yisheng, I made you some soup. Try it and see if it suits your taste," Jenny took out bowls and chopsticks, poured a bowl of soup on the table, her face adorned with a sweet smile, as if the person who left crying that afternoon wasn’t her.
Seeing Jennifer approaching, Ji Mingqian spontaneously reached out, grabbed Jiang Yisheng’s hand and pulled him to sit down, "Don’t just stand there."
"Asheng, I heard it’s going to rain in the next few days and it’s windy outside. I brought you a coat," Veya busied herself arranging the things she brought and upon closer inspection, noticed the coat Jiang Yisheng was wearing.
She asked curiously, "Where did you get this coat?"
And it looked a size too big as well.
"My cousin had it sent over," anxious that Ji Mingqian might blurt out the truth, Jiang Yisheng spoke up first.
Veya believed him and turned back to continue sorting the items.
Jiang Yisheng heaved a sigh of relief, turned his head to meet Ji Mingqian’s gazing eyes, and guiltily avoided his gaze.
Ji Mingqian raised an eyebrow; was his coat toxic or shameful, to be claimed as sent by Li Mochan?
Such blatant fibs he was telling.
"Brother Yisheng, the soup should be drunk while it’s hot. It won’t taste good once it’s cooled down," Jenny tried to assert her presence, even getting the soup spoon ready in the bowl.
"Exactly, Asheng, go ahead and take it. Don’t keep Jenny holding it for you," Veya urged.
Having no choice, Jiang Yisheng reached out to take the bowl and politely thanked her, "Thank you."
Jenny’s lips curled into a smile, but before she could revel in her happiness, Jiang Yisheng’s next move left her heart cold.
He didn’t even taste it and directly handed the hot bowl of soup to Ji Mingqian, "Here, you drink it."
Ji Mingqian’s eyebrows lifted, eyeing the steaming fresh soup, his mood suddenly improving.
"Aren’t you going to drink?"
"My wound hasn’t healed yet. The doctor said I can’t eat anything too greasy. I’ll just have some porridge," Jiang Yisheng said flatly.
