The Lady of the Prestigious Family is a Big Boss-Chapter 57 - 0, Easily scaring other people’s girls (first update)
After making a round, Li Mochan stopped in front of the counter displaying rings.
Wei Bei glanced at those sparkling diamond rings, his lips twitching slightly, and reminded kindly, "Master, rings are quite meaningful gifts, giving one might easily scare the girl away."
Li Mochan turned his head to give him a measured look, his tone lukewarm, "I know."
So you can shut up now.
Wei Bei awkwardly shifted his gaze away.
He firmly decided not to be talkative anymore. It was thankless.
Not finding anything to his liking, Li Mochan didn’t linger and decisively left for the next store.
Going from one shop to another, Wei Bei discovered for the first time that his master was even more fearsome than a woman when it came to shopping.
After almost two hours, they hadn’t found anything.
Wei Bei was on the verge of kneeling to him.
During that time, they passed a boutique, and Li Mochan hesitated before ultimately walking in.
After some picky browsing, his discerning eyes settled on a teddy bear nearly as tall as a person; he walked over, reached out, and touched the teddy bear’s ear.
He curled his lips with satisfaction, "Wei Bei, pay for it."
Finally hearing these words, Wei Bei ran to pay with tears in his eyes.
He no longer wanted to accompany him on any more shopping trips.
It was torture.
Coming out of the mall, Wei Bei carried the half-sized teddy bear, receiving many strange looks from passersby along the way.
He lowered his head in silence, wishing he could just faint on the spot.
A grown man holding a stuffed toy, how ridiculous is that?
Once in the car, Wei Bei didn’t bother to ask where to go next and headed straight to the hotel.
Speaking more was sure to bring misfortune upon himself.

"Why are you alone, where is Jiuliang?" Old Master Ye shifted his gaze from the newspaper, saw Aren standing alone behind him, and frowned.
Aren said, "Miss Jiuliang has gone out."
"It’s already nine in the evening, where has she run off to now?" Old Master Ye’s face turned the color of iron, and he slammed the newspaper on the table.
"The guards at the gate said she left an hour ago, and they also said..." Aren hesitated halfway through his sentence.
Old Master Ye demanded, "Said what?"
"Miss Jiuliang said she won’t be coming back tonight," Aren said, then immediately lowered his head.
Old Master Ye, breath rough with anger, said, "This girl is really defiant. Often not returning home at night, what kind of a message does this send? She has an exam tomorrow as well. Immediately send someone to find her, even if you have to tie her up and take her to school."
"Yes," Aren nodded respectfully.
...
At three o’clock in the morning, the plane arrived in City A.
The airport was somewhat deserted.
Ye Jiuliang walked leisurely out of the airport, her face hidden under the brim of her hat was so ordinary it could disappear in the crowd.
She casually hailed a cab, told the driver her destination, and turned to look out the window.
In the dead of night, there were still plenty of young people roaming the streets in groups.
After a while, the car stopped.
Having paid the fare and not waiting for change, Ye Jiuliang headed straight for the hotel.
The cold wind of the late night, bone-chilling, foretold an uneasy night ahead.
"Mr. Wo Te, someone from Master Jiu’s men called, asking you to come over at nine o’clock tomorrow morning. Don’t be late."
The man known as Mr. Wo Te, with his short blond hair and brown eyes gleaming with a cunning light.
Hearing his subordinate’s words, he let out a cold laugh, "How are things with the family?"
"A body double has been found. The eldest young master won’t know that you’ve come to China," the person following behind him said respectfully.
"Here’s your room card."
Wo Te took the room card, pressed it against the door, and walked in.
The bodyguards dutifully closed the door and split into two teams to stand guard at the entrance.
Exiting the bathroom in a bathrobe, Wo Te carelessly dried his hair, tossed the towel aside, and headed straight for the bar.
"Enjoying a drink at midnight, Young Master Wo Te seems quite at leisure," a chilling voice suddenly rang out behind him. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Wo Te’s complexion changed, his hand trembling as he held the wine bottle, spilling the aromatic red wine all over the table.
He spun around quickly, and the moment his eyes landed on the person sitting on the sofa, his pupils dilated sharply. "You, how could you be here?"
Ye Jiuliang’s lips curled slightly, "I heard that the infighting within the Mei Organization has reached a fever pitch, so I thought I’d see if Young Master Wo Te needed any help from me."
"Save your sarcastic remarks for someone else. If you hadn’t deliberately set me up in the first place, I wouldn’t have ended up in this situation," Wo Te glared at Ye Jiuliang with a malicious glint in his eyes, wishing he could flay her and pull out her tendons.
"Huh."
A mocking laugh spilled from those rosy lips. Ye Jiuliang got up and started toying with a gun she had pulled from her waist.
"That’s really funny. I gave you such a lump sum of money and even came up with a great idea to get rid of your covetous second brother, and now you’re blaming me for your troubles? I think, Young Master Wo Te, your mind isn’t quite clear," she said.
"That money wasn’t even a tenth of what the goods were worth. You clearly set me up on purpose," Wo Te became agitated.
"So what, you regret it now?" Ye Jiuliang flipped the gun in her hand, and the dark barrel faced Wo Te, "Planning to take my portrait and seek help from Master Li, hmm?"
She hit the nail on the head, causing Wo Te’s heart to skip a beat.
He looked up at the black gun barrel, swallowed hard, and spoke in alarm, "How could you know, have you been having someone follow me?"
"You don’t need to worry about how I know. All you need to understand is that tonight is the anniversary of your death," she said.
As she finished speaking, her fingertip barely moved as she chambered a round.
"If you dare to shoot, my subordinates outside will definitely find out about you, and then you won’t be able to get away," Wo Te threatened.
Ye Jiuliang, "That’s none of your concern."
Wo Te turned to call out for someone, but Ye Jiuliang pressed a special button on her watch, and a silver needle, dipped in potent poison, whistled through the air, striking him at the heart.
"Help..."
Wo Te’s face turned pale, a trickle of black blood oozing from the corner of his mouth.
His legs gave way, and his body fell to the side.
The thick carpet on the floor muted any noise.
He lay there, head tilted, watching as a pair of black boots approached and then life slowly left him.
Ye Jiuliang stepped over him, picked up the black file bag thrown on the bed, and pulled out the "fake portrait," giving it a casual glance and a malicious smile.
It was a truly hideous drawing.
She folded the portrait again and again, stuffing it into her pocket.
After tidying up the scene, Ye Jiuliang silently climbed out the window.
Her room was right next to Wo Te’s, making the round trip a breeze.
As dawn began to break, Ye Jiuliang walked out of her room nonchalantly.
Her utterly ordinary face didn’t attract any attention.
Once out of the hotel, Xue Wu was waiting across the street.
"Master Jiu."
Ye Jiuliang handed him the room card, "The next steps are up to you."
"Understood," Xue Wu nodded, stuffing the room card into his pocket, "Master Jiu, the plane is ready, and the motorcycle is at the VI Club."
Ye Jiuliang hummed in acknowledgment and climbed into the car.
Xue Wu watched the vehicle drive off, then quickly headed back to the hotel.
