Chapter 126: 126, Boss, can you come over for a bit (second watch)?

Ye Jiuliang glanced at the items in the bag and couldn’t help but call it wasteful.

So much stuff for breakfast as if feeding pigs.

"Eat it while it’s hot." Li Mochan patted her head and reached for another bag.

Ye Jiuliang gave him a sidelong glance, "Aren’t you eating?"

"I need to wash up." Li Mochan lifted the bag in his hand.

"The guest room is on the second floor." Fearing he might enter the wrong room, Ye Jiuliang reminded him.

Li Mochan pressed his lips together in a hum, striding his long legs up the stairs.

Ye Jiuliang tied up her hair and sat cross-legged on the carpet.

When she opened the bag, steam surged out along with the aroma.

Wei Bei had bought a pile of breakfast items – dumplings, soup dumplings, porridge...

She smacked her lips, picked up the chopsticks, and started to eat dumplings.

Just as she picked up her phone, Baona called.

"Boss, the timing of the competition has been changed at the last minute," Baona said in her crisp voice, full of helplessness.

Ye Jiuliang paused with her chopsticks, her brows knitting together, "What happened?"

Such large-scale competitions are not usually rescheduled so abruptly.

"We just got the notice saying there’s a typhoon expected over the next two days, and since the venue is already prepared, the organizers have decided to move the competition to today," Baona explained, glancing at the messy conference room, looking quite troubled.

This wasn’t their home turf; they hadn’t even had time to check out the venue, so suddenly changing the schedule was more disadvantageous than not for them.

Ye Jiuliang inquired, "What about Xiang Tian and the others?"

Baona replied, "The change in timing is too abrupt; everyone had quite a bit to drink last night and was a bit dazed when they received the notice just now. They and the coach, along with people from the organizing party, are in a meeting and it’s almost turning into a quarrel."

"Boss, can you come over?"

Although Xiang Tian was the captain, Ye Jiuliang was truly the team’s pillar of spirit. Her words carried more weight than the coach, and the teammates were more willing to listen to her.

Ye Jiuliang said indifferently, "Tell them to have breakfast first; I will come to find you in a bit."

Her clear voice was like a shot of adrenaline, and Baona breathed a sigh of relief, "Got it, I’ll let them know right away."

After hanging up the phone, Ye Jiuliang threw the phone aside and continued with her breakfast.

When Li Mochan came down, Ye Jiuliang had changed her clothes and was ready to leave.

"You’re going out?" His gaze fell on the car keys in her hand, and Li Mochan’s eyes darkened slightly.

Ye Jiuliang nodded, "I have something to do."

"I’ll drive you," Li Mochan walked up to her.

Ye Jiuliang grabbed a hat and put it on, "No need, you should hurry and eat breakfast. If your stomach hurts again, I’m not responsible for finding you medicine."

With that, she opened the door and left.

Watching the girl’s figure disappear in the elevator, Li Mochan withdrew his gaze and turned back inside.

The breakfast on the table was still warm. Li Mochan ignored the new pair of chopsticks and directly picked up the pair that Ye Jiuliang had used.

He had barely eaten a few bites when he cleared up the mess on the table, picking up the bag, and the VIP ticket beneath caught his eye.

His eyes teased as he leaned over to pick up the ticket.

Wanbai Hotel

"Baona, is everyone here?" Xiang Tian came out of the room, putting on his jacket as he walked.

Baona looked serious, "They all went downstairs, waiting for you in the lobby; the coach has gone to negotiate with the organizers about the details of today’s race."

"Let’s go," Xiang Tian patted her shoulder.

In the hotel lobby, Lin Yan and others gathered, all dressed in identical black and red jackets.

"This decision by the organizers is too rash, a typhoon my ass," Lin Yan grumbled discontentedly.
