Chapter 364: Chapter 215: Do Not Deceive_2

The fatty was staying inside his father’s study, moving an account book and doing the accounts. When he saw the Immortal coming, his smile had not yet formed when he heard Ning Xiaoxian indifferently ask: "Did you originally have a concubine named Gui Hong?"

No matter how much he had calculated, he could never have anticipated that the Immortal’s first sentence would be this. He responded blankly: "Gui Hong? She wasn’t my concubine, just a maidservant that came with a dowry. This time I returned home, I only heard that she eloped with the stable boy."

She sighed internally, what a pitiful girl, yet her expression remained impassive: "After you disappeared, the man staying in Plum Garden bullied your concubine. Only Gui Hong couldn’t bear the humiliation and took her own life with poison." Before she left, she glanced at the horizontal sign of that garden.

Fatty Qi’s expression changed, at first in disbelief, then the always smiling round face slowly turned fierce: "Plum Garden?! That’s where the second [brother] lives! He dares... he really dares..."

"Dare or not, he has already done so," Ning Xiaoxian interjected, "The people under you have been cleaned out by them, and they are now planning to make you disappear once I leave." 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

She didn’t want to meddle in others’ family affairs, otherwise it would seem too nosy. This fatty was a stranger to her, his life or death had nothing to do with her. However, human psychology is subtle; having once saved a person from reincarnation, she didn’t want to watch him just die. Besides, this fatty indeed had talents; it would be a waste if he died in such a trivial family power struggle.

Fatty Qi deeply believed her words. Immortals have their ways, and he wouldn’t be foolish enough to ask her for evidence. The words of an Immortal are the law! If the Immortal says that the second [brother] living in Plum Garden bullied his concubine and wants his life, then it must be true.

To clean up his subordinates and then prepare to let him die miserably, and disappear again? Fatty Qi clenched his teeth with a gnashing sound, suddenly took large steps towards Ning Xiaoxian, and gave a deep bow: "Immortal, how can Qi San repay your kindness of saving my life twice?"

"I will not interfere with your family matters," Ning Xiaoxian did not answer his question, but gently said, "I will stay here for another four days." Since her cultivation, her aspirations had gradually elevated. She had no interest nor should she meddle in mortal family affairs.

Fatty Qi was overjoyed. The meaning of the Immortal was clear; she would remain in his residence for four days! During these four days, even if he were to cause great upheaval within the Qi Family, with the Immortal present, none of his family would dare to utter a word.

The Immortal made it clear that she would stay out of it for the next few days, letting him do as he pleased. If he did not take action to clean up this bunch of bastards, not only would he be letting himself down, but he would also be failing to live up to the Immortal’s expectations.

He sneered, his originally bun-like clean face suddenly showing a bloodthirsty expression. "Don’t worry, Immortal, just watch the great show!"

He had a premonition that as long as he handled this messy family matter well, there would be good fortune for him later. This feeling was unsubstantiated, but uncannily accurate, a skill honed from many years in business, which he trusted.

Ning Xiaoxian shrugged her shoulders and turned to leave.

She had once again misguidedly shown kindness, but that was it. She had exposed the scandal within the estate, what Fatty Qi did next was none of her concern.

Just as she stepped into her own courtyard, the wind blew past the grass, raising a rustling sound.

If there are no worries hanging over one’s head, it is indeed a good time in the Mortal World.

In the past few days, interacting with the people of Qi Family, she finally understood the attitude of most cultivators towards mortals. If she had not stepped onto the Immortal Path, how could mortals look at her with awe?

Just as she was about to head back inside, she suddenly heard Changtian’s low whisper: "There’s movement behind the house."

"There’s a scent of blood." He hesitated for a moment, as if finally confirming, "There’s a faint demon energy. This demon seems to have used the Concealment Technique; if not for the slightly stronger scent of blood, it might have even deceived me."

A demon had followed her here? The hair on her back stood up, and Tusk slowly slid into her hand. Ever since she obtained Divine Power, these Daggers had always been nurtured within her body, as most cultivators and members of the Demon Clan did.

Awaiting Changtian’s command, Tu Jin also flashed back from outside the courtyard, standing in front of Ning Xiaoxian.

"Which position?" She transmitted to Changtian.

"Behind the house, in the iris bushes."

Without a word, Tu Jin flicked his finger. A thread of cold light spiralled towards the iris bushes, trimming the foliage a foot high into a flat top. This "scare the snake" move, although it spoiled the scenery, was the wisest choice at the moment. They certainly wouldn’t foolishly enter the bushes to be ambushed.

But with that shot fired, there was neither a roar nor a spray of blood; instead, a pair of red glowing eyes appeared from within the bushes, looking towards them.

Those eyes were like the finest agate, gleaming and smooth, yet filled with a look of extinction, as if their owner was on their last breath. However, as these eyes swept over the two, they suddenly widened in surprise.

Ning Xiaoxian could now see the creature in front of her. It was a fox the size of a domestic cat, but with rounder ears and a shorter nose and mouth. From head to tail, it was pure white without a single speck of another color, except for its eyes, which were like Blood Jade, dimly glowing.

If not for the color of its pupils, it looked quite like the Arctic foxes she had seen, similarly pure white and adorable.

However, this fox couldn’t even stand up now; its abdomen was covered in fresh blood, and its forelimbs were unnaturally bent, apparently broken. Now, it could only lie on the ground panting heavily, presumably after dodging Tu Jin’s attack, it had used up its last bit of strength. (To be continued.
