The Invincible Full-Moon System-Chapter 1458: Shadow Aspect Echo
Rex has been keeping tabs on the important figures on the battlefield.
He was attuned to his surroundings thanks to his keen senses.
Despite battling the soldiers at the same time earlier, he could keep track of the others without a problem.
Selvaris was the first one who pulled away from the battle, followed by Eiran who was slowly pulling back while trying to not be noticed, and then lastly, Franklin. Both Selvaris and Eiran were able to get inside the Dragna Sea’s bubble in time.
However, Franklin wasn’t.
Not that he was too late to move but because Rex made sure that he was trapped outside.
His Mask of the Banished Eclipse has another special effect other than the Law of Foresight, and that is the disturbance of ether flow. Once Franklin was channeling his ether to dash away, Rex used that to disturb his channeling and caused a blowback.
Franklin has no idea.
It was the power of an SSS-grade Soul Artifact.
"Kuahkk!" Franklin spat a mouthful of blood as Rex’s claws pierced through his chest.
Gritting his teeth hard, he grabbed ahold of Rex’s arm and glared at him, "Law of Inevitability, I can’t believe that a mercenary from the slum of the empire could possess a high-grade Soul Artifact. Who are you and what are you doing here, really?"
"Someone who wasn’t supposed to be here," Rex answered as he pulled his claws out.
Almost instantly, Franklin fell to his knees.
Even though he was wearing high-quality armor, one that provided him more than 300,000 endurance stat points—Rex claws still pierced through without a problem. His Blood Moon Order skill pushed his combat prowess to the Immortal Spirit rank.
Rex couldn’t take Franklin down instantly but with an ambush? Franklin has no chance.
Holding the gaping wound on his chest, Franklin was devastated.
He has been living for thousands of years—the notion of death has always been present around him.
But he never thought that he’d die at the hands of a mercenary.
"Blame Selvaris for this," Rex mumbled as the Red Dawn of Kaiser glowed. "She killed you"
Splash!
Coldly, Rex severed his head cleanly.
<Killed an Immortal Spirit 2, obtained 50,000 gold!>
<Level up!>
<Level up!>
<Obtained 2 Yellow Nightfall Stars!>
Not even wasting a single second, Rex pry open Franklin’s armor and began devouring him whole.
Even though he already leveled up two times, he could still gain more exp—from Franklin’s body.
On the other hand, Istvan and Garvain stepped out of the bubble.
Almost instantly, the Three-faced Leecher that sensed them—attacked.
Out of twenty thousand soldiers that were participating in this battle and got deserted inside the Black Rift, there were only less than ten thousand of them remaining. Considering how much time had passed, there was still a lot of them remaining.
And this was due to the fact that the Three-faced Leecher pulled its underlings away.
It was due to the wager it has with Rex.
Now that two Immortal Spirits appeared, it wasted no time to attack—wanting to get the upper hand in the wager against Rex by killing them. Istvan and Garvain worked together, parrying the tentacles that wanted nothing more than to rip them apart.
Boom!
Garvain’s body hummed with life energy as he charged forward.
More scales grew and covered his arm.
His life energy spiked because of that—and with a powerful punch, he threw the Three-faced Leecher away like a ragdoll. Following that attack, Istvan leaped upward and charged his spear with ether before throwing it towards the Three-faced Leecher.
Influenced by his throwing technique, the spear rotated and turned into a tornado of azure ether.
Roar!!
A second later, that spear turned into a dragon and struck the creature right on its stomach.
Seeing this, Garvain gave Istvan an acknowledging nod.
But then as he was about to continue decimating the Three-faced Leecher—and rescue the soldiers, he stopped abruptly. Garvain reached to his muscular chest, feeling a sharp pain stabbing his heart. It was not an actual pain yet his body reacted as if it was real.
Garvain could feel that he had lost something important to him but he didn’t know what.
"Lord, what’s wrong?" Istvan asked.
Hearing this, Garvain shook his head—he also wasn’t sure of what he was feeling.
Realizing that the two lords were now fighting against the Three-faced Leecher, the nearby soldiers ran towards them and created a formation. Some of them who were Seekers summoned their flares, creating a bedazzling display that cleared the Black Rift around them.
Once the area was cleared, the Three-faced Leecher came into view.
But its energy was already rampaging and its one arm stretched forward.
"Spirit Genesis: Deep Sea…"
As soon as that chant escaped the Three-faced Leecher’s lips—Garvain looked down—and saw that the very ground had turned into black water. His senses could feel multiple beings inside it, swimming freely while eyeing them from below.
Realizing the danger, he shouted a command, "Disperse! Break formation and disperse!!"
Splash!
Out of nowhere, a massive and gnarly black shark shot from below with an open maw.
It swallowed a dozen of soldiers in the process.
Garvain, who was also among these soldiers was able to leap skyward in time to avoid being swallowed by this shark. Clenching his hand into a fist, he punched the black shark—but his eyes widened when the black shark exploded into voidal energy.
Not clashing against Garvain directly, it turned into a shadow and dived into the ground once again.
As Garvain landed on a rock, his eyes darted left and right.

"Shadow Aspect Echo! It has the Shadow Aspect Echo!" Istvan shouted from the side in a hurry.
Once the soldiers heard what Istvan said, their expression instantly went pale.
All of them instantly found their vision narrowing rapidly.
The Shadow Aspect Echo is a high-rank Echo—beings who wielded this Echo and integrated it into their Spirit Genesis would be corrupted by it—and have evil tendencies. Not only were they powerful but they could also lessen the range of vision of others within the Black Rift.
It was the reason why beings with the Shadow Aspect Echo were notorious and feared.
Garvain lured the closest Special Voidal Knight here but he didn’t expect it to be this strong.
Splash!
Dozens of grotesquely formed piranhas emerged from the ground and shot towards Garvain with their maws opened wide. Seeing this, Garvain moved expertly—kicking and punching them away and throwing them all back into the water.
One of the piranhas turned into a shadow and reappeared behind Garvain once it was punched.
But Garvain with his extremely strong physique was able to react and punched it again.
He was doing fine but the soldiers around here were not.
Despite pairing with one another and clamping their backs together, the piranhas were simply too strong for the soldiers who were at most within the Ascendant Spirit rank. All of the piranhas were as strong as Ascendant Spirit 5 so these soldiers were no match.
Not to mention—the Shadow Aspect Echo also narrowed their field of vision.
Under those conditions, the soldiers have no chance.e
’At this point, the soldiers would be wiped out’ Garvain thought with a frown.
As the roundhouse kicked another piranha, his eyes darted to the Three-faced Leecher who was standing on the side—observing the battle unfold. It hasn’t even lifted a finger and yet, the soldiers were already in great trouble.
"Once the general went down, so will his army!" Garvain roared and charged forward.
Crack!
He stomped the ground, splashing water everywhere, and charged ahead with the might of a dragon.
"Spirit Genesis: Arcalenta Body!"
Unlike before when his Spirit Genesis only swelled his body—and created scales across his skin, Garvain now grew a thick, water dragon tail. As his eyes burned with an azure glow, he forcefully infiltrated the black water and swam straight at the Three-faced Leecher.
Compared to his speed on the ground, his speed in water was even faster.
He was so much faster that the piranhas and sharks couldn’t intercept him no matter what.
Splash!
Garvain emerged out of the water again and tried to tackle the Three-faced Leecher.
But his limbs were instantly wrapped by tentacles once he reached ten meters away from the creature.
All four of the Three-faced Leecher’s tentacles grabbed him tightly.
Grinning savagely, he grabbed the tentacles and yanked them hard—pulling the Three-faced Leecher towards him and headbutting it right in the face. Supporting from the side, Eiran also arrived and sent his chakrams ahead—slashing the Three-faced Leecher relentlessly.
Istvan called on him and without hesitation, he stepped out of the bubble and helped.
As Garvain held the creature in place, Eiran attacked it.
Istvan also came and hacked his spear expertly, drawing blood with each swing.
Out of the four tentacles that the Three-faced Creatures have, two of them were being held by Garvain while the other dealt with Eiran and Istvan. Naturally, two tentacles were not enough to protect itself from the relentless attack.
Roar!!
Pressured from all sides, the Three-faced Leecher roared.
Suddenly, four more tentacles made of shadow materialized.
Dealing with one tentacle was already hard enough but with the additional tentacles, it was a disaster.
Eiran was slapped away after failing to react in time.
Istvan tried to cut the tentacles with his spear—he succeeded but two more tentacles grabbed him by the neck and arm, lifted him up, and slammed him several times against the hard ground before a shark bite onto his armor and dragged him away.
All that was left was Garvain.
Just as the rumors stated, Garvain was an incredible warrior.
Despite being attacked by eight tentacles at the same time, he was able to stand his ground.
He was even fast enough to dodge three tentacles and throw a battle axe at the Three-faced Leecher.
A smirk crept to his face when the battle axe managed to stab through it.
But that did nothing more than anger it.
Roar!!
Garvain’s pupils dilated and his jaw tightened when he saw the eight tentacles swarm him like the devil’s whips. He readied himself and clashed against the tentacles—but this time was different, ’Its attack speed is getting faster, I can’t keep up for long!’
As if that wasn’t bad enough, the piranha began attacking him too.
Each one that managed to go through sank their sharp teeth into his body.
Splash!
"Argghk!" Garvain grunted as a tentacle managed to slip past his defense and stabbed him.
Feeling the adrenaline flowing into his bloodstream from the rush of pain, Garvain’s eyes turned fierce as his body exploded with more power. He swiped his hand, cutting through the tentacles—and rushed straight at the Three-faced Leecher.
Coating his hands with life energy proved to be effective as he could cut the tentacles with a swing.
In a few seconds, he managed to breach past the tentacles.
"Stop retaliating and die, monster! Your sacrifice will not be in vain!" He roared vigorously.
Just then, he clashed against the Three-faced Leecher head-on.
Compared to him, the Three-faced Leecher wasn’t as strong in close combat but with the impairment in his vision from the Shadow Aspect Echo, Garvain’s field of vision narrowed. He relied on his keen instincts but grabbing the Three-faced Leecher was almost impossible.
It always danced in the shadow of Garvain’s vision, making it extremely hard to land a solid hit.
"RAARGHH!!"
Kaboom!
In sheer frustration, Garvain flared his aura outward—blasting a rippling shockwave.
Seeing this, the Three-faced Leecher leaped back but one of its tentacles was late to react.
Garvain managed to grab it and with a smirk, he pulled on it once again.
Knowing exactly what Garvain was going to do, the Three-faced Leecher used its tentacles to protect its entire body like a ball. Moreover, instead of fighting against the pull, it charged straight at Garvain and struck him fiercely.
Bam!
Garvain felt like being hit by a rock, he coughed a mouthful of blood as he staggered back.
As he and the Three-faced Leecher recovered, their eyes widened.
Coming from the side was Rex. Enjoy exclusive content from novelbuddy
His deadly claws were charged with an insane amount of life energy.
"How much have you killed? I already cleared my side…" Rex mumbled as he hacked the monster.
His Red Dawn of Kaiser slashed through the tentacles and struck the Three-faced Leecher’s side.
Blood spewed out of its mouth as it was hurled away.
Upon seeing this, Garvain’s eyes narrowed, "I didn’t expect you to come and help, mercenary…"
