The Informal Tomb Raiding Diary: She is the occupant of the tomb!-Chapter 451 - 332: Power Supply Room_3
I moved its arms and legs, and didn’t find any signs of them being broken. The connection between its head and neck was also intact.
The malfunctioning eye, however, was better, though it was still wide open like it refused to rest in peace. I held its head up and leaned in to check its eye, buzzing...
The computer rebooted!
Little Red’s eyes moved first, its eyeballs turning back and forth, pupils dilating and contracting, then it moved its head, and finally its arms and legs, as though performing a self-check.
"How is it? Did you lose any data after rebooting? Can you still speak? Do you understand me?"
"...ma"
"Huh?"
"Can... you help me... up?"
It startled me; I thought the reboot not only resulted in data loss but also in scrambled information, starting with calling ’ma’. As it turned out, it just didn’t finish its sentence.
I helped it up to sit against the wall; it said it needed some time to reconnect its circuits.
The circuits it referred to were the ones controlling its body from the brain, meaning it could only move its head right now.
Having only the head operational was fine; I could chat with it about patient number 37.
Luckily, Little Red’s ’memory’ wasn’t lost; it remembered everything from before.
It said it indeed came up with an excuse to go out because it saw patient number 37. It followed patient 37 through the seaweed, all the way to the central zone.
But it didn’t expect to be ambushed by patient 37. It fell into a trap and got trapped inside. Patient 37 knew its capabilities and feared it escaping, so it used a trap to catch it before initiating "possession".
No wonder Ancient City’s ancestors inputted an indefinite sleep command for Little Red. It turns out its abilities were so extraordinary it could be possessed, even being a lifeless robot.
But here lies the question: what kind of divine power did Gu possess to dissolve number 37 within a minute?
With such an ability, surviving may not just be due to luck. Of course, it could also be that patient 37’s abilities specifically targeted the Ancient City people and had conflicts with outsiders.
Before dying, she was still crawling toward the electrical pit. Could it be that the electricity sourced from the Big Head had the power of resurrection?
I rose and walked back to the stone chair. If the Big Head was the core power source, it must have been sitting here before Ancient City was deserted.
No matter how strong the battery’s endurance is, after thousands of years, it must have long run out of power.
So the reason Big Head can continuously output electricity...
I reached out and gently patted Big Head’s shoulder: "Hey, still alive? Wake up."
Cried out twice, Big Head didn’t wake, but Gu did. He groaned the moment he moved; that bump against the wall earlier was quite hard. He held back the pain and swung his backpack to trip Little Red. Now even a small movement could trigger pain all over his body.
"I wasn’t calling you; you can sleep a bit more."
"Did I pass out? Where’s that woman?"
Gu had been moved by me, so now he couldn’t see the corpse lying on the ground.
"Don’t you remember?"
"Remember what? I tripped her, and then... she knocked me out?"
As he spoke, his eyes caught a glimpse of Little Red sitting against the wall and instantly wanted to stand up.
"Don’t move; it’s fine now. It was possessed by that woman earlier." I explained on behalf of Little Red.
"Where did that woman come from? Do you know her?" Gu checked himself; his ankle was dislocated, and his back hurt badly. He didn’t know if it was a bone fracture.
"We found a ward before we came into the city. The ancestors of Ancient City had preserved some patients in amber; that woman was one of them. Don’t know why, but she was still alive and woke up."
"Amber ward?" Gu seemed to have never seen that ward, and his eyes showed a bit of confusion.
"Yes, outside the city, there’s a transportation line underground directly into the city. That’s how we came in."
"Whether it’s underground or above, it must be the Evil Spirits that let you in. We need to find a way to cut off the power."
"Don’t you find it strange yet? We’ve been here half a day, and there’s been no movement outside the door."
"The Evil Spirits won’t enter this building."
"Shouldn’t they at least be watching outside the door with something life-threatening about to happen to them?"
"Whether or not they can be killed can only be known by first cutting off the power."
"Alright then, I’ll give it a try."
Under the dual watch of Gu and Little Red, I leaned in again and patted Big Head’s shoulder: "Stop sleeping, hurry and get up, the sun is shining on your guts now."
"What are you doing?" Gu couldn’t hold back and asked before I could wake it up.
"How can dead things have endless energy? This wire can supply power for thousands of years primarily because these creatures are still alive."
