Chapter 31: Chapter 31: The Elves Saint and Storage Gear

"Sir, how do we raise our Killer rank?" Allen asked. He was currently only a Black Iron Tier Killer and couldn’t take Silver Tier missions yet. π‘“π˜³π˜¦π‘’π‘€π‘’π˜£π˜―β„΄π˜·π˜¦π“.π‘π‘œπ‘š

"Easy," the elderly gentleman replied. "Finish ten missions at your current level, and you’ll be promoted. The same rule applies if you’re in a team."

So, if the two of them teamed up, they just needed to complete ten Black Iron Tier missions to level up. That didn’t seem too hard.

Allen and Lilia quickly picked ten Black Iron Tier tasks. They were mostly about hunting around the wilds for Stage 2 monsters or gathering herbs.

The elderly gentleman took their badges to log the assignments, then handed them back. "Just a heads-up: two of these missions have a time limit. You need to finish them within three days, or they count as failed. If you fail too many missions, it will lower your Killer rank."

Allen was already at the lowest rank, so a failure wouldn’t hurt him much.

"Thanks for the warning. We’ll finish these on time," he said, tucking his badge away as they turned to leave.

"Miss... Bro," a small voice called out from the corner. A tiny figure stood up and waved at them.

It was a woman.

Lilia frowned, glancing sharply at Allen. "You know her?"

"Me?"

Allen paused, then quickly shook his head. "I don’t think so. She seems to be calling you."

"Me?" Lilia was suspicious. After a moment’s hesitation, she pulled Allen over cautiously.

"You’re calling us?"

Lilia studied the stranger closely. The person was hidden under a large cloak, so they couldn’t see their face, but Lilia was sure she didn’t recognize them.

"Miss Lilia, it’s me." The person tilted their head up slightly, revealing piercing azure eyes, and offered a gentle smile.

Lilia stared at those blue eyes, stunned for a second before snapping back to reality. She hurriedly pulled the person to sit down, kept a watchful eye on the surroundings, and whispered, "Annie? Is that really you? What are you doing here? Have you lost your mind?"

Annie?

Allen frowned. He had just seen that name, hadn’t he? The bounty for the Elves Saint was named Annie.

Could this person be the one on the list?

Allen swallowed hard. This was a walking 10 million gold coin bounty!

Annie noticed his gaze. She lifted her eyes slightly, flashing a bright smile, and said coolly, "What? You thinking of capturing me to claim the reward?"

Allen felt a bit awkward, but he pulled up a chair next to them and sat down obediently.

He remembered the elderly gentleman’s warning: this little girl was even harder to catch than a Stage 5 powerhouse. She definitely wasn’t as simple as she looked.

Annie took Lilia’s small hand and pouted, acting a bit spoiled. "Miss Lilia, aren’t we the best team? Why are you hanging out with this guy?"

Lilia shot her a glare. "Do you think it’s the time for jokes? Come with me, back to the City Lord’s Mansion."

She grabbed Annie’s hand to pull her away, but Annie slipped out of her grip easily.

"Miss Lilia, you don’t need to worry about my safety. Simon knows where I am, so I’ll be fine," Annie said with a reassuring smile.

Lilia remained unconvinced. "Even so, you can’t stay here. It’s too dangerous."

Annie pulled her back into the chair, leaning in with a coaxing tone. "Miss Lilia, I’m really strong now. You couldn’t beat me when we were kids, and I’ve only gotten stronger. No one here can threaten me. Plus, I have important business to investigate in this city."

Lilia’s expression turned sour.

Throughout her life, only two people had ever managed to hit her, and both were right there.

Annie used to spank her when they were young, while Allen was even worseβ€”had the guts to slap her!

Thinking of this, Lilia glared sharply at Allen sitting nearby.

At that moment, Allen was stuffing a pastry into his mouth. Confused by Lilia’s angry stare, he looked around in a daze.

"What did I do? I haven’t done anything wrong, so why is the young lady mad at me again?"

Was she expecting him to teach Annie a lesson for her?

Allen glanced at Annie nearby. She was petite. Although her face was hidden, her vivid azure eyes were lively, suggesting she was quite pretty.

"Miss Lilia, I actually have something great for you," Annie said with a mysterious smile. She reached into her large cloak, checked the surroundings cautiously, and handed two bracelets to Lilia.

"What is this?"

Lilia’s eyes widened. She could clearly feel a faint spatial energy fluctuating from the bracelets.

Storage artifacts!

These were priceless treasures!

Overwhelmed with emotion and warmth, Lilia still managed to say, "Annie, this is too expensive. I can’t accept this."

Annie smiled gently and explained, "I have other gear too. These were actually meant for you, sister."

As she spoke, she glanced briefly at Allen.

She had indeed prepared a pair of bracelets for him as well. However, since they weren’t close yet, suddenly gifting such an expensive present might make him overthink it.

"Alright, I’ll take them," Lilia said, finally accepting without further refusal. She looked delighted but still worried. "Are you really not coming with me?"

Annie shook her head lightly. "I still have important business to attend to."

Lilia sighed in defeat. She stopped insisting and just added, "Then please be careful. Once you’re done, come find me. I have so much I want to tell you."

"Of course," Annie promised.

Lilia didn’t linger any longer. She pulled a bag of gold coins from her satchel and handed it to Annie.

It was a helpful gift, as Elves rarely appeared in the human world and probably wouldn’t have cash on hand. This would make it easier for Annie to move around among humans.

Once they left the Assassins’ Guild, Allen’s eyes immediately locked onto the two bracelets in Lilia’s hand.

One was black, the other white. They weren’t made of gold or jade, but seemed carved from wood.

"Want them?" Lilia noticed his stare, lifted the bracelets proudly, and flashed a smug grin.

Allen sighed internally but gritted his teeth. "Just say the terms."

"Ah, you know what I mean," Lilia said, her gaze dropping to his neck before she licked her lips slowly.

That woman clearly hadn’t given up her bad ideas.

Still, looking at those two bracelets, Allen couldn’t bring himself to say no.

These were storage artifactsβ€”priceless treasures with no market price. Even the City Lord’s Mansion probably didn’t have two of them.

He took a deep breath, steeled himself, and closed his eyes in a dramatic, martyr-like pose. "Come on then."

Seeing him stop resisting completely, Lilia suddenly felt a bit underwhelmed. "Never mind," she said, her mood fading. "I’m not hungry now. Go wash up and wait for me tonight."

Allen’s eyes went wide.

What kind of wild talk was that? If he didn’t already know what she had in mind, he’d think she was planning to eat him alive.

Wait... maybe she actually was planning to eat him.

Ignoring his weird expression, Lilia hummed a cheerful tune and skipped away lightly.

Allen hurried to catch up. "Where’s my bracelet?"

"Cut it out," Lilia scoffed. "I keep my word. Just remember the deal you promised me."She looked at the pair of bracelets in her handsβ€”one black, one white. Finally, she kept the small, crystal-clear white one for herself and handed the larger black one to Allen.

Allen immediately slipped it onto his wrist and ran a spiritual scan inside. He froze.

The bracelet contained over ten cubic meters of space. Most storage items only held a few cubic meters, so anything over ten was considered top-tier.

He felt like he had made a huge profit. Losing out on that ’blood-sucking’ deal with Lilia actually wasn’t a loss at all.

But now he was even more curious about Annie.

She had given out two top-tier storage artifacts without blinking. Did all Elves have such deep pockets?

Storage items didn’t have special attributes and weren’t technically classified as equipment, but they held a pocket dimension inside. Just that single function made them rarer than Epic-grade gear.

"Let’s go," Lilia urged, seeing Allen still fiddling with his bracelet. "I’ll help you pick a skill book, and then we’ll head out of the city to finish your bounty missions."

Allen nodded. He stored his Saber inside the storage bracelet and instantly felt much lighter.

They visited over a dozen shops in the city. In the end, they only bought one basic water magic skill book. It was an support skill: Misting Art.

It created a thick fog to surround and confuse enemies within dozens of meters.

However, when Allen cast it, it evolved automatically into a Forbidden Spell called "Heavenly Punishment." The range expanded to a full kilometer, with even thicker fog that left enemies completely lost.

Still, what he really wanted was a lightning magic skill. But after checking every shop in the city, they found nothing related to thunder.

According to the shopkeepers, lightning magic was too Rare and powerful. Such skills usually only appeared in the big cities, and even then, they were nearly impossible to buy. As soon as such a precious and powerful skill appeared, the big factions would fight over it, leaving nothing for ordinary people.

With no choice, Allen gave up and left Blackspire with Lilia to head into the wilds and complete his bounty missions.
