Chapter 15: Chapter 15: Killing a Demonic Soldier, Gaining a Rare Weapon

A fireball whistled through the air, leaving a long trail of flame before it struck.

"A just-awakened human dares attack me? Overconfident!" the demonic soldier sneered. He swept his long blade, slicing toward the fireball.

Boom!

The fireball exploded. Heat waves rushed out, and powerful energy surged, nearly knocking the demonic soldier away.

"Forbidden Spell!"

His brow furrowed tightly as he stared dead at Allen, his eyes glowing with murderous rage. "You are one of The Heaven-Cursed? Then you are even more intolerable to me!"

The demonic soldier roared, swinging his blade. Cold flashes of light danced across the air as he charged toward Allen.

"Careful!" Lilia called out, worried.

But Allen wasn’t afraid at all. He cast Earth Shield and formed two Wind Blades at the same time, rushing straight at the demonic soldier.

Cling... Clang...

Cold lights swirled around them, and sharp sounds of fierce collisions echoed. For a moment, neither could get the better of the other.

Boom!

The demonic soldier gripped his blade with both hands and struck with full force. Allen’s earth shield shattered instantly, and he was sent flying backward.

"Interesting, but that’s all you have!"

The demonic soldier sneered. If Allen grew stronger, he might have to be careful. But right now, this guy was just a rookie who had just awakened his class. He could easily handle him.

He moved in a flash, his blade dancing as he charged again.

"Damn it!" Allen wiped blood from the corner of his mouth, his expression serious.

This demonic soldier was as strong as the mysterious expert he had met that night. Luckily, his level had gone up; otherwise, he might not have been a match.

"I don’t believe you can block how many Forbidden Spells I have!" Allen got angry too. Powerful magic surged around him. Fireballs and Wind Blades flew out one after another, reckless and desperate, burying the demonic soldier in an instant.

Boom... Boom...

The roaring sounds never stopped. The demonic soldier blocked with all his might, looking disheveled and messy.

Yet, he remained calm. Coldly, he said, "The Heaven-Cursed lose life to cast spells. Let’s see how long you can last."

"HaHa, as long as you don’t die, I can keep casting!" Allen sneered. For other The Heaven-Cursed, using skills cost their life, but not for him.

His Immortality Art had broken through to rank 1, level 2. His lifespan had increased by 200 years, and his recovery speed had improved too. He had enough to fight on.

Flames surged, and wind blades flashed. Like they didn’t care about their lives, they hammered the demonic soldier nonstop.

At this moment, the fine scales on his body cracked, and blood poured down.

Even though the demonic soldier’s defense was strong, he couldn’t hold out against the endless storm of Forbidden Spells.

Above, watching from the sky, Lilia was secretly shocked.

The Heaven-Cursed lose life to cast Forbidden Spells,At this rate, even a hundred years of life wouldn’t be enough, right?

Could her vampiric curse be that powerful? Did it really turn Allen into an immortal?

Does that mean she is also immortal, capable of staying young forever?

Lilia’s eyes sparkled with excitement.

Immortality itself didn’t interest her much, but staying young forever? No young woman could say no to that.

Boom!

A massive explosion rocked the air. The demonic soldier’s huge body flew backward, slamming hard into the ground. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

Now, his scales were shattered, his body was covered in blood, and he was filled with wounds.

"Crazy man!"

The demonic soldier cursed in his mind. He used his long blade to prop himself up, struggling to stand. He stared at Allen with terror in his eyes.

He didn’t know how long this human could last, but he certainly couldn’t last.

The power of Forbidden Spells was too terrifying; he, just a lowly demonic soldier, couldn’t possibly block it.

"Human!" He took a deep breath, gritted his teeth, and spoke: "If we keep fighting, we’ll only hurt each other. Let’s part ways now and stay out of each other’s business. How about it?"

"So, you’re afraid?" Allen asked with a smirk, not in a rush to strike again.

He had also burned through over two hundred years of life from casting Forbidden Spells non-stop. It was actually a good time to recover a bit.

"I’m willing to let you go," Allen said casually. "Just bring me treasures worth enough to buy your life."

The demonic soldier’s eye twitched, and anger rose in his chest. "Kid, I’m not afraid of you. I just don’t want us to end up destroying each other. Forbidden Spells cost life; do you really think you can last long?"

He said those words, but he wasn’t sure about it himself.

This human was too weird. In that fight just now, he had released thousands of Forbidden Spells. Even for someone with a long lifespan, that would have turned them into an old, withered man.

But this guy was still full of energy and youth. He looked nothing like someone on their deathbed.

"I’ve said it before: as long as you don’t die, I can keep casting the Forbidden Spell!" Allen sneered, too weary to waste words on him. With a mere gesture, a volley of wind blades and fireballs roared forth.

"Damn it, you’re a madman!" the demonic soldier cursed furiously but dared not stand and fight again. He turned and fled straight into the dense forest.

"Want to run?" Allen looked surprised. He turned to Lilia in the sky and shouted, "Lilia, take me after him! That guy is heavily wounded. We can’t let him escape."

"Last time!"

Lilia gritted her teeth. Though unwilling, she flew down.

Allen smoothly dodged her hands, leaped, and instantly mounted on her back.

"Hey, isn’t that a bit too much?" Lilia protested, trying to shake him off.

"I promise, this is the last time. That guy is a Stage 5 Demonic Soldier. If we let him go, we’ll lose out on so much valuable loot," Allen urged anxiously.

At that moment, the Demonic Soldier had already vanished into the dense forest, his form almost disappearing.

"Don’t worry, he can’t escape," Lilia said confidently. With a flap of her wings, she created a gust of wind and shot quickly into the forest.

The Demonic Soldier noticed the two of them approaching fast from the air. He was shocked and angry, shouting loudly, "Vampire! Don’t forget the harm humans have done to your kind! We were on the same side just moments ago. Are you really going to help this human fight me?"

"Tch! Who are you on the same side with? Allen, kill him!" Lilia cried out angrily.

Allen acted decisively. Fireballs whistled through the air, and wind blades flashed. They seemed endless, hammering the enemy down non-stop.

The Demonic Soldier groaned in pain, swinging his blade to block with all his might. But the power of Forbidden Spells was too terrifying. He couldn’t even withstand the shockwaves from the explosions.

Fireballs exploded, engulfing him in an endless sea of flames. He was blasted away again, followed by a storm of wind blades whistling through the air.

"Cowardly humans, dirty vampire! The day the Demon King descends will be your death!" he roared in anger.

Covered by a web of wind blades, he closed his eyes in unwilling acceptance.

Splat...

Blood splattered. The Demonic Soldier’s eyes lost their light, and he collapsed heavily to the ground.

[You killed a Stage 5 Level 1 Demonic Soldier. Progress for the Advancement Quest: 2/10]

The notification flashed. Allen felt a bit helpless; even though it was a Stage 5 monster, he had only completed one-tenth of the progress.

It seemed impossible to finish the Class Advancement Quest in this Beginner Dungeon.

"Hey, aren’t you going to get off?" Lilia said as she landed. Feeling Allen sitting on her back, she felt both shy and angry.

"Stingy," Allen muttered. He reached out and gave Lilia a quick squeeze on her waist. Before she could explode in rage, he instantly ran away.

"Pervert! Bastard!"

Lilia’s cheeks turned bright red, and she stomped her feet in anger.

Allen didn’t care. He walked over and picked up the long blade the Demonic Soldier had dropped with curiosity.

The blade was pitch black, long and slender, over two meters in length. Only a monster like the Demonic Soldier could wield it, yet Allen found it surprisingly easy to handle.

[Demons Long Blade: Rare]

[Attributes: +30% Physical Damage, Strength +50, Agility +20]

[Special Effect: Agility - Attacks deal an extra 1% Wind Element Magic Damage]

[Description: Forged from mysterious iron, this is a common weapon for Demons with considerable power. It can be upgraded.]

It was actually a Rare weapon, and it even added 1% Wind Element Magic Damage!

Allen was surprised and liked the blade even more.

Equipment tiers were divided into Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary. A Rare item was extremely precious, worth at least 100,000 gold coins.

Lilia curiously came over and saw the blade’s stats. Confused, she asked, "Allen, you don’t actually plan to use it yourself, do you? This blade is longer than my gun. It won’t suit a human at all. Let’s just sell it."

"I’ll use it myself," Allen refused, directly strapping the blade to his back.

Once they left the dungeon, he would craft a scabbard for it to make carrying it easier. If he could find a space-storage item, that would be even better.

Ignoring Lilia, Allen walked over to the tattered corpse of the Demonic Soldier and took out a black, crystalline Crystal Core.

Rich!

Allen’s eyes lit up, his face beaming with joy. A Stage 5 Monster Crystal Core? That was even more precious than a Rare-tier weapon. It was worth at least one million gold coins!

He had never seen so much gold in his life, let alone heard of a sum that big.

"Allen, I’ll take this Crystal Core," Lilia said, crawling over with a huge, eager smile. "We stick to our old deal: I’ll buy it from you for half the price."
