Chapter 752: Chapter 752 A Different Way of Compensation_1

Cai Qingping climbed the ladder gingerly and opened the glass door to retrieve the custom-made jade vase for Li Qing.

Li Qing looked up, his gaze brightening slightly.

Cai Qingping was dressed in a rather conservative way, yet with a hint of wildness.

She was wearing a gray business skirt paired with black stockings.

But what surprised Li Qing was that she was wearing short stockings instead of pantyhose.

The stockings reached just to the middle of her thighs, only slightly higher than the hem of her skirt, and beneath was a pair of strikingly red underwear. Li Qing had just glanced up and was momentarily dazzled by the bright red color.

The contrast of grey and black with a sudden flash of red was very eye-catching.

Cai Qingping held the box containing the jade vase in her right hand and carefully steadied herself on the ladder with her left hand as she slowly climbed up.

As he inadvertently looked down, his gaze met Li Qing’s upturned eyes.

She suddenly seemed to realize something, let out a soft gasp, and her foot missed the rung, sending her falling straight down from the ladder, with the box flying out of her right hand.

Li Qing quickly let go of the ladder, bracing Cai Qingping’s body with his knee, wrapping his left arm around her supple waist while his right hand swiftly reached out to steadily catch the falling box.

Cai Qingping lay in Li Qing’s arms, her face pale with fright, "Mr. Li, I’m sorry, I... I got nervous all of a sudden."

"It’s okay, as long as you’re not hurt," Li Qing said soothingly, "Besides, it seems that it was my fault to some extent."

"It has nothing to do with you, Mr. Li, I was just too careless," Cai Qingping said, her cheeks flushing slightly.

"Um, I’ll find a way to compensate for the vase, let’s check later how many are broken."

Li Qing picked up the box he had caught in his right hand, "It didn’t fall to the ground, so it should be intact."

"Ah? Mr. Li, how did you do that?" Cai Qingping asked incredulously, "I thought for sure they would all be shattered."

"Just did it like that," Li Qing replied.

Cai Qingping frantically scrambled up from Li Qing’s body, quickly took the box to carefully inspect the outer packaging, then set it on the counter and opened it, thoroughly checking the vase inside. Her face immediately turned bitter and she said weakly, "It must have knocked against something when falling, there are still two cracked..."

"Are they completely unusable?" Li Qing asked.

Cai Qingping nodded with a morose expression, "According to your previous standards, Mr. Li, these two are definitely unusable. I will refund you the cost of these two vases."

Li Qing examined the two vases and saw that both had a very slight crack just at the mouth, which really did not affect normal use. A small band could easily be fitted on the outside to prevent further cracking.

"It’s not a big problem. Have your master deal with the cracks at the mouth, put a band on it, or just cut off the front half and make a new mouth," Li Qing suggested, "Your fall had something to do with me, after all, your... well, it was too eye-catching. I couldn’t help but take a second look, it’s on me."

He had noticed before that Cai Qingping lost her balance and fell because she became aware of his gaze.

"Mr. Li, this isn’t your fault, it’s mine, truly mine. I should remake it for you, so as not to affect the reputation of our store." Cai Qingping’s cheeks were slightly red, and her expression somewhat unnatural, but her tone was very resolute.

"I’m the customer, and what I say goes. If I don’t demand it, what reputation is there to speak of? Just do as I say!" Li Qing said in a stern voice, "The damage to the item isn’t serious, and my requirements are simple, as long as it works."

Cai Qingping bit her lip, "Mr. Li, do you really want to... I mean, I’m not the kind of person who would do anything for performance."

Li Qing furrowed his brow, looking at Cai Qingping with a face full of confusion, "What are you talking about?"

He really didn’t understand.

With an uneasy expression, Cai Qingping murmured, "If I don’t agree, are you going to take your business to another store?"

"Could you make yourself clearer? I’m totally in the fog here," Li Qing asked, puzzled.

He truly didn’t understand, her hemming and hawing like a bee murmuring in a flower bed, Li Qing had a hard time even hearing her clearly.

"What I mean is, if I don’t agree to sleep with Mr. Li, is it that you will take your business elsewhere for the jars?" Cai Qingping gathered her courage, asking very quickly while looking up, then nervously lowered her head again, her hands anxiously twisting together.

Li Qing was stunned for a moment. Had he ever said such a thing?

"Manager Cai, I think you might have misunderstood. I don’t seem to have said such a thing. I just mentioned that your pants were quite eye-catching. And I didn’t mean to look; it’s just that the color you wore was so striking that I saw it as soon as I looked up," Li Qing explained with a wry smile, "I’ve never said anything about wanting you to sleep with me. Besides, if everything’s going well, why would I change stores?"

"But Mr. Li, you did say so before..." Cai Qingping’s cheeks grew even redder.

Li Qing was really bewildered now. He thought carefully, then couldn’t help but chuckle, "That was a joke."

"If, Mr. Li, you really meant it, then I... I could actually give it a try," Cai Qingping stuttered suddenly.

"No need, really, there’s no need. I was just joking," Li Qing waved his hands and laughed.

Now he had become someone who was threatening others.

Although if Cai Qingping was willing, it would be like Zhou Yu plotting against Huang Gai.

But for Li Qing, it didn’t sit well with him morally.

"Mr. Li, then, I’ll do it for you," Cai Qingping seemed to have come to some sort of decision, her expression suddenly firm as she looked up at Li Qing. Although her face was close to dripping blood from blush, her expression no longer showed unease.

Perhaps she had sorted out her thoughts and was genuinely worried about losing Li Qing as an important customer.

Li Qing waved his hand, "Don’t think so much. I didn’t mean that, nor am I thinking of changing stores. We finally have a smooth cooperation, and if I switch to another shop, I’ll have to go through the whole process again, which is very troublesome."

Yet Cai Qingping seemed not to have heard a word Li Qing said. She shook her head, suddenly grabbed Li Qing’s hand, "Mr. Li, come with me!"

"To do what?" Li Qing asked.

Cai Qingping didn’t speak, but led Li Qing upstairs and into one of the offices.
