The Happy Farmer Wanderer-Chapter 747 The fun of the wilderness_1
Retracing this route, Li Qing couldn’t help but recall the last time he, Sister Hu, and Qi Xuelan had indulged themselves here without any restraint.
Qi Xuelan, that woman who was so incredibly demanding of herself that it sometimes seemed infuriating, Li Qing had never again tasted that woman’s flavor since that time. But he still clearly remembered how crazy she had been that night under Sister Hu’s extreme development.
Although she also had an intense longing for such matters, Qi Xuelan forcibly put a stop to their relationship and became just friends, who were not very close, after leaving the valley, never crossing that line again.
Li Qing actually admired such a woman.
If a man could have her kind of self-restraint, he would definitely succeed in whatever he did.
The early winter weather offered no wonderful scenery anymore.
The grassland had lost the verdant green of summer, and looking around, all was withered yellow, adding a sense of desolation akin to the wilderness.
Although the river had not yet frozen over, it was bitingly cold, making even Li Qing, the cultivator, reluctant to dip his hands in to feel the flow of the water.
But Jing Yan seemed to really enjoy such scenery, her face brimming with joyous smiles.
"Husband, why don’t we spend the night here today?" Jing Yan looked around and suddenly suggested.
"Oh yes, that’s a great idea!" Before Li Qing could respond, Zi Ling expressed her excitement, "I’ve always wanted to try camping in the wild, but I never had the chance."
"But, it seems we didn’t bring anything." Li Qing said with a wry smile, "I have no objections to camping here, but we certainly can’t just sleep on the grass overnight, right? That seems a bit too harsh."
"Husband, we can look for a cave nearby, or we could build a simple house ourselves." Jing Yan said enthusiastically.
Li Qing was immediately daunted by the idea; building a house just to spend a simple night seemed a little too far-fetched.
"I’ll look for a cave first," Li Qing said.
If he had known that the two of them were interested in camping, he should have prepared a tent earlier.
Even if they found a cave to shelter from the wind and rain, it would still be a hardship without even a mat to sleep on.
But the pasture was a high mountain meadow, with gentle rolling hills and extensive forests.
In such terrain, finding a cave was not so easy. The three of them wandered around and didn’t even find a small cave inhabited by wild animals.
Seeing a dense forest not far away, Jing Yan suddenly said, "Husband, how about we set up a tree house!"
Li Qing was taken aback for a moment. Jing Yan really could come up with one idea after another. How were they supposed to do that?
"We don’t have any tools, not even a wooden board. This doesn’t seem easy to do," Li Qing said with a laugh.
"We just need wood and vines. Let me teach you," Jing Yan said full of excitement, her face glowing with the eagerness to try, seemingly very excited about it as if she had found the joys of her youth.
"You know how to do even this?" Li Qing asked in surprise.
Jing Yan smiled gently, "When I was young, I was not a very quiet child. I did a lot of mischievous things that many boys couldn’t match."
This was something Li Qing had never really noticed before.
"Alright, then let’s build a tree house," Li Qing said spiritedly.
Since Jing Yan was so interested, he couldn’t dampen her enthusiasm.
After living in the oppressive environment of the Underground Palace for so many years, this was one of the few things she showed interest in, and Li Qing had to give her his full support. Besides, it wasn’t as if he was being asked to pluck stars from the sky, but rather something he could accomplish with a bit of imagination and effort.
"My dear and Ling’er will go prepare the wood and vines first," Jing Yan said with a captivating smile, "Why don’t you pick out a tree, Husband? Preferably a taller one so we can sit on it and see the stars all over the sky."
Li Qing nodded his head.
As the world’s foremost Divinity Transformation expert, such a simple task was definitely not going to trouble her.
Since Li Qing was capable of splitting large trees barehanded, collecting a bit of wood was probably a trivial task for Jing Yan, akin to taking candy from a baby.
After Jing Yan and Zi Ling left excitedly, Li Qing walked into the forest, looking up at the tall canopies and searching for a tree that could serve as their abode for the night.
In the early winter season, most trees had already shed their leaves, with only a few frost-resistant ones still stubbornly holding on.
Li Qing walked around and set his sights on a particularly tall elm tree.
This kind of tree, with its highly flexible trunk, could easily support the weight of an adult, even with branches as thin as a child’s arm.
One wouldn’t have to worry about it suddenly breaking when standing on it. Its branches would only bend under pressure.
The elm tree seemed to have experienced many years, growing in a bizarre and uneven manner. From afar, it looked like a monster with claws outstretched.
Li Qing climbed to the treetop, his thoughts invoking the Black Arrow.
At his mental command, the Black Arrow turned into a flash of black light, streaking towards the extraneous branches Li Qing had targeted.
In just a moment, Li Qing had trimmed the tree’s "hair," creating a space suitable for building a treehouse. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Li Yuanxian likely never imagined that his Soul-breaking Arrow would one day be used to trim tree branches.
But, Li Qing was quite satisfied with the efficiency. It was much faster than an axe and didn’t require him to lift a finger.
Jing Yan and Zi Ling returned.
Hovering in front of Jing Yan was a bundle of wood as thick as arms, looking like a small mountain, while Zi Ling carried a large bundle of vines on her back.
Seeing this, Li Qing couldn’t help but laugh. It really seemed like an overkill for cultivators to do this sort of task.
They didn’t even need to use their hands to carry the wood.
Jing Yan’s body moved lightly, floating gracefully like a celestial being next to Li Qing.
"Look, are you satisfied?" Li Qing gestured to the spot he had chosen and said, "We can connect these few branches with wood below, and it will form a very sturdy platform. With five such thick tree trunks for support, we can move around on top without any worry."
Smiling, Jing Yan nodded her head, "Your judgment is excellent, Husband. Let’s begin then."
With a gentle wave of her fair wrist, the wood rose from below as if endowed with sentience, neatly arranged on the tree trunks. In the blink of an eye, the platform was laid out.
Zi Ling scrambled up the tree canopy like a monkey, lacking Jing Yan’s elegance, though she was incredibly fast, she still needed to use her hands. She handed half of the vines to Li Qing, and the two of them started tying the laid-out sticks from either side.
After they firmly secured the sticks to the robust trunks below, a platform was complete. Then, they used sticks around the perimeter to create walls, and the outline of the wooden house was now discernible.
