The construction site finally resumed work.
As the foreman, Li Qing arrived at the site first thing.

Li Qing nodded, "I did put in some effort."
"The original share is cut in half, right?" Secretary Zhou said softly with a pained look.
Li Qing hurriedly said, "Secretary Zhou, there’s no need, we can still go by the original contract."
Secretary Zhou waved his hand, "No need, I’m not that greedy, we should keep things straight."
"If I had handled the negotiations, I definitely wouldn’t have settled for a penny less than what I deserved, but since there have been these changes, it’s only natural that I can’t continue with the original share."
"Just listen to me; I think you’re a good lad and there could be more opportunities for us to cooperate in the future."
Li Qing had long been hoping that Secretary Zhou would rein in his ambition a bit and not be so heavy-handed.
He feigned difficulty and hesitated briefly before saying, "Since Secretary Zhou, you put it that way, well, alright then."

Lu Furong shot Li Qing a sidelong glance. "You think the rearview mirror’s just for show?"

"Not interested!" Lu Furong said coldly.
"Since you don’t like the outdoors, how about we go to the hospital?" Li Qing said with a hint of a sly smile, "It seems like you haven’t visited Xu Keqing for a long time, right? How about we go and have some fun with her, what do you think?"
Lu Furong’s cheeks turned slightly red, and she glared at Li Qing from the corner of her eyes. "Don’t bring that up again in the future."

Lu Furong didn’t say anything. She just gave Li Qing a fierce look and then turned to walk towards the main road outside the construction site. Li Qing was immediately puzzled.
This woman is really hard to understand.
She’s no saint, but on the surface, she’s more proper than the most virtuous woman in the world.
If it were ancient times, with her demeanor, the emperor would definitely have granted her a chastity arch.
Lu Furong kept walking forward, paying no attention to Li Qing’s words.
"When are we going to deal with the contract?" Li Qing called out.
