Mo Jiaolan felt her heart a bit weary and sighed, "Staying is fine too, but you two must stop quarreling. If you want to argue, find a secluded place and do it alone!"

"Okay, okay, I promise you, that’s that!" Chen Yuhe immediately said.

Ling Feng also felt it wasn’t good; although the two said they were quarreling, it seemed more like they were teasing each other. Mo Jiaolan might seem indifferent on the surface, but who knows, she might be feeling jealous inside!

So, he quickly smiled and said, "Alright Jiaolan, I won’t bully Yuhe from now on!"

Mo Jiaolan nodded slightly and remained silent. Seeing this, Ling Feng changed the subject: "By the way, what do you want for lunch?"

Chen Yuhe, quick-witted and seeing the awkward atmosphere, immediately spoke up, "How about this, I’ll cook for lunch, as compensation for my mistake, okay?"

"What do you want to make?" Ling Feng asked.

"I won’t tell you yet!"

Chen Yuhe purposefully held back, taking Mo Jiaolan’s hand and proposing, "Sis, let’s go to town and buy some things, shall we?"

"Sure."

The two women walked off hand in hand, leaving Ling Feng alone, wondering what they could possibly be buying in town. Could Chen Yuhe really pull off something spectacular for lunch?

Turning his head, he saw Wang Cai lying listlessly in its nest. A sudden thought struck Ling Feng, and he slapped his forehead, "Right, how could I forget about that thing!"

While the two women drove to town, he quickly went back to his room and fetched that dark, murky object!

It had been several days since he stole it from Wang Cai, and Ling Feng had almost forgotten about it!

He closed the door to the inner room, and sensing a faint fragrance in the air, Ling Feng knew it came from Mo Jiaolan and Chen Yuhe. He took a few deep breaths, then sat down.

The round object was covered with a lot of mud, so it was hard to see its true form. Ling Feng patiently took out his tools and started to clean it little by little. After a while, his expression began to turn solemn.

It was actually a skeleton!

The skeleton seemed very similar to a human skull, but as a doctor, he was clear on basic human anatomy. Glancing at the yellowed bones, he noticed they were a size or two larger than a human skull.

If this skull hadn’t decayed, it would definitely be much larger than a human head.

"What kind of creature has such a large head with human features?" Ling Feng couldn’t figure it out, as he had never seen such a creature in his knowledge.

After cleaning off all the muck from the outside, there was still something stuffed inside, so he continued to clean. Soon, he had cleared everything out.

"Just for this skull, why is Wang Cai so obsessed with it? Wait, what’s this?"

Once he had cleaned it thoroughly, Ling Feng’s gaze locked onto the inside of the skull cap, where there appeared to be a map etched?

After scrutinizing it against the sunlight for a while, he realized he wasn’t mistaken; it was indeed a map!

Ling Feng was astonished and without a second thought, took photos with his phone, then enlarged them to take a closer look. He discovered it was an ancient map with a black line winding through it and black dots at intervals.

"Could it be a treasure map?" Ling Feng said to himself in excitement.

After taking a few more pictures, he felt the bone was no longer of use, so he decided to give it back to Wang Cai, though he wasn’t sure if it would still be interested after the dirt was cleaned off.

Carrying the skull, he stepped out the back door and went to the animal farm. Hands behind his back, Ling Feng approached the entrance of Wang Cai’s nest and asked, "Missed your thing, huh? Upset about it?"

Wang Cai glanced at him listlessly, rested its head on the ground, and said nothing.

Ling Feng didn’t plan to tease Wang Cai any longer, retrieving the skeleton head from his back, "Here, you can have it back. I thought it was something valuable!"

As soon as Wang Cai saw it, its eyes widened, then it immediately darted out, snatched it with its mouth, and hid it away in its nest!

Not quite reassured even after retrieving it, Wang Cai specially crammed it into a corner and then firmly blocked it with its body, as if frightened of losing it again.

Ling Feng watched, amused, and scolded jokingly, "Relax, that thing will be yours from now on. Nobody’s going to fight you for it!"

After finishing his words, he turned and walked away, returning to the house out front.

He took out his cell phone and studied it for a while, but he couldn’t figure out what place was depicted in the map. After all, ancient maps from different eras are all different. Only by finding a large map from the same period and combining it with a modern map could he possibly discern the location.

While he was engrossed in his research, a horn sounded outside. Ling Feng quickly put away his phone and went out to see that Chen Yuhe and Mo Jiaolan had returned.

"Come help us, we can’t carry it by ourselves! There’s too much stuff!" Chen Yuhe called out as she got out of the car.

Curious, Ling Feng approached and took a look, only to find that this girl had bought quite a lot of things. Not to mention various vegetables, there were even an induction cooker, a divided hot pot, and other kitchenware!

Now he understood. So Chen Yuhe was talking about having a hot pot!

But what’s with this gas cylinder?

"I’m saying, if you bought an induction cooker, why did you also buy coal gas and a stove?" Ling Feng asked, bewildered.

"The boss in town said that your village has unstable electricity and often experiences power outages, so I made a backup plan. If the induction cooker doesn’t work, then we’ll switch to the gas stove," Chen Yuhe said proudly. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

Ling Feng was at a loss for words and turned to Mo Jiaolan, "You just let her spend money like this?"

"As long as she’s happy, money is a small matter," Mo Jiaolan said with a smile.

Having no choice, Ling Feng couldn’t say much else and could only help carry the items inside the house, soon making the outside living space a bit crowded.

As the two women were tidying up, Chen Yuhe looked up and said, "Oh right, a truck delivering grain will come later. Find a place for them to unload."

"Ah? You actually went to buy corn?" Ling Feng asked in surprise.

"Yep, I always keep my word!" Chen Yuhe said with a proud face.

"So how much did you buy?" Ling Feng asked, a bit curious.

Chen Yuhe thought for a moment, "A truckload, probably about seven or eight tons?"

"What?"

Ling Feng nearly collapsed to the ground!

Seven or eight tons amounted to nearly twenty thousand pounds of grain, his own land only yielded about three to four thousand pounds a year; the amount she bought was equivalent to five years of his land’s produce!

While he was still in shock, a truck had already arrived. Ling Feng could only shake his head, "It’s different for the wealthy; they spend money however they like!"

"Alright, go unload the truck. My cousin and I will finish up here, and by the time you’re done, it’ll be time to eat," Chen Yuhe stuck out her tongue and said with a laugh.

Stepping outside, he led the driver around to the entrance of the farm. At the entrance was a shed originally meant for storing various goods, which now temporarily served as a grain storage.

The truck came with two loaders, so Ling Feng didn’t need to help. They worked together, and in just half an hour, they finished unloading nearly two hundred bags of corn.

After sending off the truck, Ling Feng returned home. As he walked in, he was greeted by a delicious smell—the steaming hot pot was ready!
