Ling Feng didn’t stay in bed for long, and once he noticed that Mo Jiaolan had fallen into a deep sleep, he quietly got up and went to check on Chen Yuhe in the Nine Heavens.

The girl was also sound asleep, blissfully unaware even when Ling Feng picked her up.

With a smile, Ling Feng carried her back to Mo Jiaolan’s office.

The sisters lay asleep on the bed while he moved quietly to the office outside and lay down on the sofa.

At that moment, Ling Feng was wide awake, resting his head in his hands as he looked at the ceiling, a sweet smile on his lips, feeling as if his life was now complete.

Perhaps it had been a long time since he lay on this sofa; despite not being tired initially, drowsiness gradually overtook him, and he fell asleep unknowingly.

When he woke up again, the sky outside was already bright, with the sun about to rise.

Ling Feng sat up, went to the window, and looked outside. The streets were still quiet, with only the occasional car passing by.

"A new day has begun."

After muttering to himself, he heard the sound of a door opening behind him. Ling Feng turned to look.

"Jiaolan, you’re awake?"

Seeing Mo Jiaolan, Ling Feng asked with a smile.

"Mm."

Mo Jiaolan, wearing only a loose white shirt that did little to cover her long, slender legs, walked over barefoot and wrapped her arms around his waist.

"What are you looking at?"

Looking at him, as meek as a kitten, Ling Feng felt his heart fill with bubbles of happiness and said with a smile, "Nothing much, just a brand new day. I feel like I’m filled with energy!"

Mo Jiaolan pressed her head tightly against his chest and spoke softly.

The two remained in an embrace, and had the phone not rung, there was no telling how long they would have stayed like that.

The caller was Lin Xue, and when Ling Feng saw her number, he seemed to realize something and quickly answered.

"Where are you? There’s a mission!"

Ling Feng was taken aback, "So soon? What mission?"

"I didn’t think it would be this quick either, but this time, the mission is not far; it’s in your hometown!" Lin Xue said.

Lin Xue said this and then ended the call.

Upon hearing the word "mine," Zhang Lan’s face instantly flashed in Ling Feng’s mind, so he quickly said to Mo Jiaolan, "There’s been an incident at my place, I need to deal with it now!"

Ling Feng nodded, quickly got ready, rushed downstairs, hopped on a tricycle, and left.

Ling Feng stopped his tricycle and hurried over to them.

Both Du Song and He Bing looked at him with surprise in their eyes. They had not expected to see a colonel riding on a tricycle!

"We have just arrived ourselves. Get in," said Lin Xue, opening the car door.

The two vehicles headed into the mountains, one after the other, and after a few minutes, they arrived at the Luo Family’s mining site.
