The old man set down a dirty snake-skin bag he had been carrying and pulled over two wooden stools.

Li Fei’er’s eyes curiously surveyed him, and after sitting down, she couldn’t help but ask, "Grandpa, do you live here all by yourself?"

"Yes," the old man nodded and then asked, "Little girl, can you understand Yellow’s thoughts?"

"There’s no need to hide anything from the elder, just speak the truth!" Ling Feng said.

"Oh," Li Fei’er nodded her head and then said to the old man, "You’re right, I don’t know what’s going on, but as long as the animal has spiritual awareness, I seem to know what it’s thinking."

The old man nodded slightly and turned his gaze, "You must be Ling Feng, right?"

"Eh? You know my name, Elder?" Ling Feng was astonished.

The elder spoke slowly, and Ling Feng listened as if hearing tall tales, taking a while to process it all.
