The Grants: Choosing One Between The Two-Chapter 93: Ethan Grant and Yvette Aston Register Their Marriage
"Yvette, this is your final warning, withdraw the case and apologize to the Bell and Grant families! Otherwise, don’t blame us for being harsh." May Kendrick pointed at Yvette Aston, threatening.
Yvette shook her head. "The Bell and Grant families have nothing to do with The Aston Family, I owe you twenty years of upbringing, not the Bell and Grant families."
"Yvette! You’ve learned to talk back now?" May Kendrick raised her hand to hit Yvette.
"Does Mrs. Aston also want to end up in the police station?" At the door, Ethan Grant’s voice was cold.
Stellan Aston was stunned for a moment, frowning as he looked at Ethan Grant.
He approached Yvette not just to deal with Jayden Grant.
In Stellan’s eyes, Ethan Grant was not a good person either.
With a meaningful glance back at Yvette, Stellan wanted to say something but ultimately didn’t. "Mom, Dad, let’s go."
May Kendrick was so angry her breathing was irregular, she looked back at Ethan. "Ethan, what’s that supposed to mean? Jayden is your brother, Charlotte is your future sister-in-law, you’re one family."
Ethan Grant laughed. "Does that have anything to do with the fact that hitting people is illegal?"
Seeing May was about to say more, George Aston pulled her back. "Let’s go, let the Grant family handle this themselves, as long as they don’t hurt Charlotte, we won’t interfere!"
Anyone with eyes could see this was an internal dispute within the Grant family, was Ethan really helping Jayden? Only a fool would believe that.
May Kendrick wasn’t foolish either, despite her anger, she was well aware of Ethan’s abilities.
Saying he severed ties with The Aston Family was as easy as doing so, this Ethan Grant was ruthless to the point of disregarding kinship.
"Thank you..."
The hospital room was left with just Yvette and Ethan, Yvette bowed her head, softly saying thank you.
"No need to thank me." Ethan stood by the bedside.
Wasn’t she also quite capable, managing to have the news of Melody Crowe’s rise as a mistress stirred up again, no matter how much the Grant Group’s PR tried to suppress it, they couldn’t.
Ethan looked at Yvette with meaning, raising his hand to pinch her chin. "Who’s helping you?"
Besides him, there must be someone behind Yvette.
Even the Grant Group’s PR couldn’t hold down the trending topic, was it Henry Jennings?
Yvette panicked a little, shifting her gaze. "I don’t know what Mr. Grant is talking about..."
"Yvette, I promised to help you, to keep Caden and Summers safe, it was just a verbal promise, do you believe that?" Ethan felt he had underestimated Yvette. "Purposely letting me help you release the video of Jayden hitting someone, then your people stir up news about Melody Crowe to bind me with this?"
Yvette tightly gripped the hem of her clothes, not minding being misunderstood.
Indeed, she didn’t dare to easily trust anyone’s verbal promises.
She also indeed wanted to bind her interests with Ethan.
But to Ethan, she was just a tiny ant, he could crush her anytime.
"Mr. Grant, don’t worry...I’m not greedy." Yvette looked at Ethan, her eyes trembling.
She was not a greedy person, she only sought safety for Summers and Caden.
If Ethan no longer needed her, she would leave without hesitation.
This was also why Ethan chose her, because he could easily solve her.
Ethan frowned slightly, releasing Yvette. "Come to discharge you."
Yvette quickly got up, hurriedly gathering her things. "Mr. Grant...there’s no need for you to come personally."
She could just take a cab back.
Ethan said nothing, just stood aside waiting for Yvette to pack up.
Yvette didn’t have much to take, after tidying up the hospital bed a bit, she followed Ethan out of the hospital.
"Mr. Grant, the discharge is complete, Henry’s assistant also came to pick Yvette up, but I sent him off." Christopher Carter whispered to Ethan’s ear, opening the car door for him.
Ethan said nothing, motioning for Yvette to get in the car first.
Yvette hesitated for a long time before finally getting in the car.
Nervously pressed against the car door, Yvette was on the verge of squeezing out of it.
Ethan leaned back in his chair, looking at her wary demeanor, feeling somewhat amused. "Do you need me to open the door for you?"
Yvette gasped, her head lowered, ears turning red.
With her heart elsewhere the whole ride, Yvette didn’t even notice this wasn’t the route home.
It wasn’t until the car stopped at the entrance of the civil affairs bureau that Ethan spoke. "Get out."
Yvette paused for a moment, quickly getting out, looking around in shock. "Mr...Mr. Grant?"
"Weren’t you the one who asked me to marry you?" Ethan walked towards the civil affairs bureau.
Yvette stood frozen, her fingers and legs going numb. "Mr. Grant...I didn’t mean that, I didn’t..."
Ethan stopped, looking at Yvette. "You can refuse."
"It’s not necessary to go this far, actually..." Yvette stammered her explanation.
"Or is it that you have better ways to protect yourself and a better choice?" Ethan interrupted her.
Yvette lowered her head, her mind blank.
Ethan’s actions left her bewildered.
He was Ethan Grant, after all.
How could he just decide to get married like that?
Even Henry Jennings didn’t want any involvement with her in this regard...
Even knowing this was just a temporary partnership, Yvette still spoke softly. "You should have better options, given my reputation..."
"Marriage will help me get what I want faster." Ethan had no intention of hiding. "We both get what we need."
Yvette kept her head down, following behind Ethan.
Indeed...a marriage certificate was the biggest guarantee for Yvette right now.
Moreover, Ethan won’t let outsiders know about their marriage.
This kind of hidden marriage was more than suitable for Ethan.
"Why...choose me?" Yvette asked quietly.
"You said it yourself, you’re not greedy." Ethan instructed Christopher to take Yvette to handle the formalities.
"Miss Aston, please come this way." Christopher called to Yvette. "You should be aware that Mr. Grant marrying you is just a partnership."
Yvette kept her head down, both hands gripping tightly.
"Mr. Grant trusts Miss Aston, he didn’t ask for a prenuptial agreement, but for safety and to minimize future troubles, I believe you should sign this agreement." Christopher produced the prenuptial agreement.
"This marriage will last a maximum of three years. During this time, Mr. Grant can end the marriage at any time, and you may also request a divorce at any time. Three years from today, no matter the reason, please arrange for a prompt divorce."
Christopher pointed to the contents of the agreement, speaking again. "As compensation, all living expenses, educational expenses, and future college, graduate school, further studies, or even study abroad expenses for Summers until entering society, will be covered by Mr. Grant."
"In addition, as long as you adhere to the agreement, whether ending the marriage early or after three years, Mr. Grant will provide you with a property in Meridia, one million in cash, and monthly living expenses after marriage termination."
Christopher spoke plainly, thinking Yvette was incredibly fortunate, their Mr. Grant was practically a soft-hearted benefactor!
"No...no need, I don’t want the money and all this..." Yvette looked at Christopher nervously, she truly didn’t do it for money, she just wanted to protect herself.
She calculated against Ethan out of necessity.
"You’d better just sign, it’ll be good for all of us, and it’ll give me peace of mind." Christopher’s words were meaningful.
He didn’t believe anyone would not want money, with these things, everyone’s troubles would be avoided.
Yvette’s fingers stiffened for a moment, she didn’t continue to explain.
Picking up the pen, she signed the agreement.
Within three years, she would leave.
