The Grants: Choosing One Between The Two-Chapter 73: Yvette Calls Ethan Grant for Help
Yvette Aston stood under the headlights of several cars, unable to open her eyes.
Clutching the fruit knife in her sleeve, Yvette trembled and retreated.
She wanted to run, but her legs felt too heavy, completely out of control.
She couldn’t run.
In fact, she could call Henry Jennings.
But she gave up.
She didn’t want to cause any more trouble for Henry Jennings.
"Yvette, you’re really something," Jayden Grant’s eyes were full of disappointment, sarcastically saying, "For a woman like you, who anyone can have, even Henry Jennings made a move."
Yvette numbly stepped back, trying hard not to care about Jayden’s sarcasm.
"Yvette, I told you to run a little further," Stellan Aston lit a cigarette, leaning against the car, watching coldly.
Jayden took step after step toward Yvette.
Yvette only felt her whole body plunging into an ice cave.
"I underestimated you for sending Claudia Bell to the police station," Jayden laughed mockingly, raising his hand to grab Yvette’s hair, dragging her to the first car.
In the car, a woman of elegance and poise looked at Yvette with disdain. "Name your price, how much to drop the case."
Yvette’s whole body trembled. "Hitting someone is illegal, it’s justified..."
Claudia’s mom sneered. "Yvette, do you think I’ve shown you enough respect?"
Yvette held onto the knife handle, gripping it tightly. "My name is not Yvette... My surname is Xia."
Beside her, Stellan Aston’s cigarette-holding hand stiffened for a moment. He instinctively looked up at Yvette, wanting to say something, his throat moving, but in the end, he said nothing.
"Three million, is it enough?" Claudia’s mom frowned and asked.
"No..." Yvette endured the pain, her voice hoarse.
"Ha, too little?" Claudia’s mom got out of the car and looked at Jayden. "She isn’t being obedient, what do you suggest?"
"For a woman like this, other means have to be used. She’s already with Henry Jennings; three million won’t make a difference." Jayden laughed sarcastically, dragging Yvette and stuffing her into the car.
"Jayden, I’ll leave this matter to you; don’t cause any fatalities. Make sure she withdraws the case before the Meridia Chamber of Commerce banquet ends tomorrow." Claudia’s mom looked at Jayden.
Jayden nodded. "Alright."
Yvette clutched her phone, trying to secretly call the police.
Stellan noticed Yvette secretly using her phone, frowned, but didn’t stop her.
But Jayden saw it, snatched Yvette’s phone, and threw it out the car window.
"Trying to call Henry Jennings? He doesn’t have time to save you now." Jayden leaned back in his seat, pressing his temples madly. "Yvette, keep running."
Yvette curled up under the car seat, hugging herself tightly, not knowing what Jayden wanted to do.
"When did you hook up with Henry Jennings? Six years ago, or seven? Hm? That bastard is actually Jennings’?" Jayden laughed, a bit crazy.
Seeing Yvette not speaking, Jayden yanked her hair, pulling her in front of him. "Yvette, are you shameless?"
"Haven’t I treated you well? Letting you seduce other men behind my back?" Jayden was a little mad.
Yvette looked at Jayden in fear, not saying a word.
Yvette’s attitude clearly enraged Jayden.
"So filthy."
He obviously despised her, thought she was dirty, but wouldn’t let her go.
"Henry Jennings really isn’t picky." Jayden said irritably, forcefully throwing Yvette’s head away.
Yvette’s head hit the car door, making her dizzy.
In the passenger seat, Stellan raised his hand, rubbing his temples, his voice low. "Don’t go too far... We found her to drop the case."
Jayden sneered, saying nothing.
The car drove to an abandoned mine in Montville, far from the city center, taking almost an hour to drive.
Pulled out of the car by Jayden, Yvette stumbled and fell several times on the ground, her knees scraped, pants stuck to the bloody flesh, hurting with each move.
"I’ll ask you again, are you dropping the case?" Jayden flung Yvette into the warehouse.
Yvette struggled to get up, shaking her head.
Not dropping the case.
Jayden frowned, kicking Yvette away.
Yvette lay on the ground, coughing for a long time.
Stellan stood at the door, rubbing his temples, saying nothing.
Yvette coughed for a long time, a metallic taste in her throat.
"I’ll ask you once more, are you dropping the case!" Jayden’s voice was very cold.
"No..." Yvette looked hatefully at Jayden, voice hoarse but firm. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
"Yvette! You think with Henry Jennings protecting you, you can speak to me like that?" Jayden, out of control, grabbed Yvette by the collar. He just couldn’t stand Yvette looking like this.
"Not dropping the case, huh?" Jayden glanced at the people behind him.
The warehouse had over a dozen bodyguards, all waiting in advance.
"If they take turns with you, do you think Henry Jennings will still touch you?" Jayden wasn’t just bluffing this time.
Clearly, Yvette being with Jennings had completely enraged Jayden, making him lose his mind.
Several bodyguards stepped forward, Jayden spoke in a deep voice. "Don’t forget to take photos."
Yvette retreated in horror, crying helplessly. "Get away..."
Stellan frowned, grabbing Jayden. "Are you serious?"
"Do you think just scaring her will make her afraid now? With Jennings as her backing, would she fear you or me?" Jayden shook off Stellan’s wrist.
"Jayden Grant, don’t go too far!" Stellan felt this method was too despicable.
"She’s already this dirty, does she care about a few more men?" Jayden grabbed Stellan’s collar in return. "You better not ruin things."
Stellan pushed Jayden away, paused silently, then turned and left.
Yvette leaned against the column, looking in despair at Stellan, who was turning and walking away.
Ha...
She should have given up hope on him long ago.
Why did she still hold a glimmer of hope?
Jayden left once he was done giving orders, naturally unwilling to dirty his eyes.
"We’re just doing this for a paycheck, on orders. If you agree to drop the case now, we don’t want to touch you either." The lead bodyguard said.
Yvette numbly sat, looking up at them. "Rape carries a penalty... Besides, there are so many of you."
"In this remote place, who would know." A gangster-like person laughed. "Do you want to get involved? If not, I’ll start. Even President Jennings would dare to touch her; surely she’s clean. Besides, with the money Mr. Grant offered, it’s worth a few years in jail."
"Hahaha..." they laughed and jeered.
Having said that, the man started to unbuckle his pants.
Yvette held the dagger, pressing it against her neck. "Then what about murder?"
The bodyguard frowned, looking at the pale but no longer trembling Yvette.
What did she mean by that?
Yvette’s knife harshly sliced across her neck, dark red blood spewing out instantly.
They looked at each other in horror. "This woman is crazy..."
The guilt of murder, they definitely couldn’t bear that.
Yvette gave a powerless smile, leaning against the column.
After everyone ran far away, she used a scarf to press on the wound, standing up and step by step, walking out.
When Jayden dragged her into the car, she lost a shoe during the struggle, now walking barefoot on the road, the gravel piercing her feet until they went numb with pain.
The scarf was already soaked in blood; Yvette knew her stroke was controlled, but also knew if she didn’t get treated soon, she’d still die.
Not knowing how long she walked, Yvette felt like it was almost dawn.
Finally, she found a person jogging at night by the roadside.
"Can I... borrow your phone?"
The person looked at Yvette in horror, seeing her covered in blood in this remote area. "Miss... I’ll call the police for you!"
Yvette shook her head, her voice trembling. "May I borrow the phone?"
The passerby quickly handed their phone to Yvette.
Yvette thought for a moment and dialed Ethan Grant’s number.
That day, when Ethan Grant gave her his business card, she memorized it.
