Chapter 1473: Chapter 1: Bite Off His Ear_3

"This guy is a tyrant, you know, the more glorious the past, the heavier the burden now. ML-Karl called me and said he could give me all the power, the greatest power. Honestly, I don’t really believe it. Power without a foundation is just an illusion, it’s not really power; it’s like making you a temporary pilot in a sea of confusion. They’re gambling, betting that this pilot has the experience and method to lead them out of the mist. If he can get out, the pilot remains a pilot, if not, he’ll be kicked into the sea!"

While waiting for the boxing match to start, Beelman talked with Gan Guoyang, expressing his inner worries.

He obviously conducted an in-depth investigation of the Celtics and found that this ancient basketball empire is not so easy to manage.

There are too many old honors, too many outdated traditions, too much historical baggage, too heavy fan expectations, and an overlord pressing down on top.

Beelman is not a clueless rookie with no achievements or experience. He clearly realizes that the Celtics are not simply looking for a discoverer of talents like Duncan, but rather for a scapegoat for Duncan.

After all, a superstar cannot be easily criticized and attacked, and Boston is so harsh; finding a good shield for Duncan is an important task.

Gan Guoyang didn’t pay much attention to Beelman’s chatter. His eyes were mostly focused on the boxing ring, where the confrontation between Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield had already begun.

The match was filled with clinching, and Holyfield skillfully neutralized Tyson’s heavy punches with technique.

Meanwhile, Tyson’s signature quick attacks weren’t effective, aside from landing a heavy blow to the ribs, his offense was sparse.

In the first two rounds, Tyson began to show a slump. When the third round started, Holyfield was surprised to find Tyson without a mouthguard.

Holyfield pointed this out to the referee, Tyson went back to wear the mouthguard, and the match continued.

Less than a minute before the round ended, without any warning, Tyson suddenly clinched Holyfield with his arms, turned his head over Holyfield’s shoulder, and spat out the mouthguard.

What happened next was shocking - the people on the scene couldn’t believe their eyes:

Tyson brought his mouth close to Holyfield’s right ear and, with primitive ferocity, bit Holyfield’s ear hard!

The whole arena was in bewilderment, a complete bewilderment.

Beelman, who had just been chattering away, hadn’t realized what had happened.

He looked at the ring and saw Holyfield hopping around in pain on one foot.

Meanwhile, Tyson’s mouth was full of blood; it seemed he had bitten off a piece of Holyfield’s ear!

As referee Mills Lane tried to control the situation, Tyson unexpectedly shoved Holyfield from behind.

Holyfield, pushed and bleeding from the ear, was completely bewildered, everyone was - except Gan Guoyang.

"What happened, what happened, Sonny?" Beelman asked in confusion.

"Tyson bit Holyfield’s ear, seems like he bit off a piece."

"What? What?" Beelman was shocked.

After such an incident, the match surprisingly continued, the referee only deducted two points from Tyson.

And then, in the struggling clinch, Tyson once again accurately located Holyfield’s left ear with clear intention to bite again!

The referee stopped the fight, Tyson, caught in a frenzy in a match he knew he would inevitably lose, vented his frustration and dissatisfaction in the most unorthodox and primitive way - dissatisfied with manager Tang Jin’s control, unhappy being a slave to sports commercial capital, and certainly most dissatisfied that he’s no longer the best boxer in the world.

It ended, the world-renowned heavyweight fight abruptly concluded in an extremely dramatic ear-biting incident, declaring Tyson’s loss.

The venue was filled with cursing, screaming, and yelling; many boxing fans threw water bottles, popcorn buckets, and various trash at Tyson as this once-super boxing champ was escorted out of the arena by the police.

The entire MGM Grand Hotel fell into chaos, and in some areas, there were stampede incidents. A lady fainted on site because she saw Tyson spit the bitten-off piece of ear onto the ring.

A staff member on-site wrapped the ear fragment in latex gloves and took it to the dressing room for the doctor to repair Holyfield’s ear, overall everything was in a mess.

Beelman and Gan Guoyang left the audience seats under the protection of bodyguards, only to find the lobby of the MGM Hotel was equally in disarray, a total pandemonium everywhere.

Gan Guoyang remained calm from beginning to end; he joked, "Anyone who didn’t know better would think the Liberation Army was coming. Hurry, let’s escape to the airport."

Beelman looked shocked and confused, shaking his head, "What’s happened to this world, too chaotic, too chaotic, just as chaotic as the Boston Celtics."

Beelman gasped heavily, thinking of tonight’s astonishing chaos, filled with anxiety about his prospects for the Celtics’ job interview.

The two got in the car, Gan Guoyang asked, "What, not confident about yourself?"

Beelman said, "Hey, I’ve told you so much, did all of that go to waste? What is the situation with the Celtics? What kind of person is Auerbach? You don’t know, does Larry not know? Larry couldn’t even work there."

Gan Guoyang said, "I’ve heard every word you said, Bobby, you said so much, but it all comes down to one thing: I really want to go to the Celtics, it’s full of challenges and temptations."
