Chapter 303: Mind Network.

Only the minds within a length of 4(Dao Status) × (4(Mind Freeze Core Metac)× (5(Mind) + 450% Energy Well) × (5(Mind Network) × (300% Overdrive + 450% Energy Nexus), which is 5,700 units.

So he can now see the minds of everyone within 5,700 meters around him. From up to the sky and down to the earth below, anything within this length is visible to him.

But even though he can see the minds within this distance, it doesn’t mean that he can link up with the mind successfully. He has to overcome many obstacles, the first being the obstacle of distance.

The farther a mind is from him, the more energy it will take for the mind link to be established. For every meter that the thin white thread extends towards the mind he wants to link with, he must expend 1 unit of energy to create the thin thread and 1 unit of energy to maintain the thin thread every second.

So a mind that is 5,700 meters away will consume 5,700 units of energy to create and 5,700 units of energy to maintain every second at its peak. And if the mind link fails, all of that energy will go to waste.

A mind that is also far away from him will take a long time to reach. All of these are why he chose a mind relatively close to him. He also didn’t choose any white light that was moving, as that would make reaching the mind more difficult.

When the thin thread reached the white light that he had selected, he used the Mind Freeze Metac on the white light. The large python that the white light belonged to froze when he did this.

With the Mind Frozen and unable to mount any resistance, he activated the Mind Spike Metac. This caused the edge of the thin thread that was making contact with the white light to sharpen and dig into the white light.

Such an act should have caused a lot of pain to the owner of the mind, and the python should have been trashing about in pain because of it. But because the mind had been frozen, the python didn’t feel anything.

The sharp tip of the thin thread dug past the first layer of the Mind, which is the layer of thoughts, into the second layer of the Mind, which is the layer of short-term memories. Then the tip broke off, leaving a sharp white nail in the mind of the python.

He used the Mind Spike again on what’s left of the thin thread to dig into the mind again and create another white nail in the mind of the host. While the second nail was being created, he used the Mind Node Metac on the first nail.

The Mind Node Metac caused the first white nail to swell with energy and become a round ball within the mind of the target. The round ball was ready by the time the second nail was prepared. So after using the Mind Node Metac, he used the Mind Bomb Metac on the second nail.

The Mind Bomb also infused the second nail with energy and turned it into a round ball. But this white ball is unstable and contains a lot more energy, which can be made to erupt in one outburst to destroy the mind completely.

He is preparing the Mind Bomb as a contingency to eliminate the host if the host proves too difficult to control or if he wants to clear his tracks from other Mind Hunters.

Since the Mind Node has been established in the mind of the target, a permanent link has been created between his mind and the mind of the target. So he doesn’t need the thin thread to connect their minds anymore.

In fact, he doesn’t need the Mind Network anymore. So he deactivated the Mind Network from his mind completely. He also deactivated the Mind Freeze Metac.

Once the Mind Freeze Metac was removed, the mind of the host became active again. An active mind meant that it could now think and feel again. Since there were two large foreign objects in its mind, the first thing that the python felt was pain.

Loki noticed the overwhelming sense of pain in the mind of the target through the Thought Reading Metac. So he immediately used the Hypnotize Metac to calm the mind of the host.

He can use these two Metacs and all of his Mind Hunter Metacs on the mind of the python, even though there is a large distance between them, because of the Mind Node present in the mind of the python.

The Mind Node creates an action point for his mind on the mind of a target. And once it has been established, the Mind Node will continue to work regardless of distance as long as it has energy to maintain it.

The only way to sever this link between their minds is to destroy the Mind Node, but that is unlikely to be possible from this particular target.

In fact, it becomes nearly impossible to destroy a Mind Node after it has been completed. The best chance to destroy the Mind Node is during the process of its creation.

Unfortunately for the python, its mind was frozen during this process. So even if it somehow possesses the ability to remove the Mind Node now, Loki can still freeze its mind. Or destroy the mind completely with the Mind Bomb.

The mind of the python is a three-layered ball with a gaseous outer layer full of thoughts, followed by a liquid layer made up of short-term memories, and finally a solid area made up of long-term memories. The python doesn’t have a mind palace, so its mind doesn’t have a deeper layer.

The Mind Node is on the second layer, but it has expanded into the first layer too because of its significant size. This means that it requires a lot of energy to maintain.
