Chapter 359: Have You Also Lost Your Memory?

She will allow her to exhaust all the tricks she has up her sleeve, as she was sure people like Peggy, never give up until they are left with no room for redemption.

It is only then, she will strike, starting from how their syrup suddenly disappeared from their station, she will unmask Peggy in such a way that she will never recover.

There were still five days left which was more than enough to put Peggy where she belonged.

After clearing their station, Lauren and her team headed back in high spirits, chattering at the top of their voice and of course praising their leader so much that at some point, Lauren got confused if she was the same person as the one they were praising so exaggeratedly.

That night, she received a call from her parents who had currently traveled abroad.

They regretted not being with her during the competition but promised to make it up to her when they returned and assured her of victory.

And just like that four days rolled by.

Mr Khan who had been invited with much pleadings and was to only attend as a judge for just the second and last day ended up staying for the rest of the days and was no longer in a hurry to leave.

He was so impressed by Lauren’s skills that whatever any other team did paled in comparison to Lauren’s.

He couldn’t really be blamed as after the win for the second challenge of the second day, Empress Brew had continued to maintain their position as number one in subsequent events and even her online followers had increased tremendously, among them of course were Café Solstice previous fans.

After the events of day five, Lauren received a call from Sarah, Steffan’s mother when she got home.

"Mom," Lauren said as she picked the call.

She hadn’t heard from the woman for over a week and seeing her call she realized she kind of missed the older woman’s peaterings.

"How are you my darling? Hope you’re not too tired," Sarah said as soon as she heard Lauren’s voice.

"I’m tired, mom but not too tired to have a chat with you. How have you been dating these days and how is dad?"

"We’re doing fine," Sarah replied then added excitedly, "I called to specially congratulate you, my child."

"But the competition is still ongoing. We have one more day to go," Lauren laughed.

As expected with Sarah there was no dull moment ... congratulating her before the competition was over.

"Does it matter? We already know you’re the winner," Sarah stated confidently. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

"We heard that tomorrow’s event is the viewers choice award. I’ve mobilized all my friends to also mobilize all their friends and family members to vote for Empress Brew."

"Really, mom? Lauren felt an inexplicable warmth envelope her heart at Sarah’s words.

"Of course sweetheart. I even promised to treat them to one week of free exquisite coffee at Empress Brew’s Café if they delivered, which I know they will," she stated bluntly.

She waited until Lauren’s laugh died down before continuing.

"You know your father is addicted to your coffee and spoke about you at his club when he went there last week. They can’t wait for the online voting platform to open to start casting their votes."

"We will all be voting for you. Your own, my dear, is just to do what you know how to do best and wait for your victory," Sarah boasted.

Lauren was speechless. "I’m so happy,

Mom, you’re simply the best," she said and wiped a tear from the corner of her eye.

She never believed Steffan’s family would go to such lengths to support her. Who wouldn’t be touched by such an act?

Sarah grinned from ear to ear, "I know, right? I just wanted to pass this news to you before you sleep, since they won’t allow you to use your phones during the competition. That way you will know that you are not alone."

"Yes, sis. We’re all here for you and will show our massive support through our votes," Candace shouted from the background.

"I’ve booked a hall at The Masters Place for us to celebrate after your victory," Stanley added.

Followed by Sophia at who informed her that she had also told her friends in schoool to get all their parents and family member to vote for Team Empress Brew.

Even Danny’s cute voice sounded over the phone. "Danny loves Aunt Lauren a lot and I know my favorite aunt Lauren will win. Go! Aunt Lauren!"

This caused everyone to erupt in laughter and Lauren who has been to moved to tears bith laughed and cried at the same time.

"Thank you, mom, thank you everyone, I love you all and appreciate all what you have done for me" Lauren said. "I will come and see you as soon as all these is over," she added.

"Mom," she called out tiredly after waiting for some time and she didn’t hear Sarah’s characteristic excited voice whenever she told her she would be coming over.

Instead what she heard was a seemingly aggrieved male voice from the other end.

"So you deliberately kept something this important from me. When were you planning to tell me about your competition, Lauren?"

Lauren: "..."

"May I know who this is?" Lauren asked politely as she tried to feign ignorance.

"Really?" Steffan let out just one word.

Now she wants to pretend that she didn’t recognize his voice, who was it that was all over him in his office some weeks back? Now his voice was suddenly strange to her.

"I’m sorry, I didn’t get you," Lauren continued to pretend. "Who are you?" She asked nonchalantly but the next second, covered her mouth with her pillow to suppress the giggle from escaping her mouth.

Steffan didn’t know whether to curse or directly hand up the phone. How can someone be this shameless? He gently kneaded his forehead as he tried to calm himself.

"Lauren Holmes, have you also lost your memory? Isn’t my example enough for you to learn from and guard against anything that will make you become like me?" Steffan taunted.

Everyone: "..."

Stanley shook his head pitifully at his naive brother. Why was he scolding Lauren instead of giving her moral support like they all did? Was this the time to give such advice?

On the other end of the phone, Lauren was also rendered speechless and before she could come up with a retort, she heard Steffan’s sigh.

"Why didn’t you inform me about the competition?" he asked as he started walking in the direction of his room, ignoring the strange glances his family members threw at him.

Suddenly angered at how Steffan hadn’t asked of her yet had the gut to rebuke her, Lauren threw back

"When have I ever been answerable to you? Who are you to me to ask me such questions?"

Steffan was momentarily confused and didn’t know how to respond.

"Lauren..." he roared then struggled to control himself.

"Oh, so you want to know who I am to you? You tell me, what relationship do you share with my family? Since you can tell my parents and family members about what is going on in your life, why can’t you tell me?"
