Chapter 330: Please, Do Take Care Of The Patient

Dolly stepped out of her car with Steffan, as soon as the driver pulled up at the parking lot of The Masters Place.

She had deliberately won a silver gown that did justice to her attractive figure as she knew she would be taking Steffan to lunch today.

She took hold of Steffan’s hand that was hanging lazily by his sides.

A curious gaze from Steffan met her seemingly innocent smile which made it hard for Steffan to refuse her gesture.

Anyone seeing them together wouldn’t doubt that they were on a date and that was exactly how Dolly felt at the moment. She had imagined this scene for far too long and seeing it being fulfilled today was a huge achievement on her part.

They were greeted by a soft glow of the chandelier and the scent of exquisite dishes as they walked into the restaurant.

Because the time was short, she was not able to book a private room, so they had to make do with a table on the ground floor which was not bad after she saw the location of the table.

She guided Steffan to the cozy table near the window, where they settled in comfortably. From their any that cared to know would see them and the truth was that she wanted as many people as possible to know that she went on a date with one of the most handsome men from the first four families in Baltimore.

Soon, a waiter approached them with a courteous smile.

"Good afternoon, Madam, Sir. What can I get for you today?"

Dolly glanced at Steffan, who just shrugged his shoulders.

Taking that as a signal to place the order for both of them, Dolly turned to the waiter.

While he left Dolly to place the order, Steffan’s eyes wandered around the hall and caught sight of two familiar figures around the receptionist table.

The receptionist seemed to have said something funny as one of the most beautiful smiles he had ever seen spread across the face of one of the ladies.

Even from the distance where he was he could see how warm and welcoming that smile was on her face.

When the smile became more pronounced, an unknown emotion stirred up within him and his expression suddenly turned cold as he glared at the male receptionist who was still talking with them.

Dolly’s voice broke into his thoughts and he heard her say to the waiter.

"Let’s start with a bottle of your finest red wine, please, and a refreshing Caesar salad for both of us."

She darted a glance at Steffan again who nodded absentmindedly.

He was still thinking why a high end restaurant of this nature would hire flirts as their receptionist. He made up his mind to mention this to his friend when next they have a chat.

"And for our main course, I’ll have grilled salmon with roasted vegetables," Dolly said just as Steffan bent his head to check a notification on his new phone.

The waiter nodded and jotted down her order. "Okay, and you sir, what would you have for the main dish?" he asked.

Without looking up, Steffan asked Dolly to place the order.

Dolly’s lips curled into a warm smile when Steffan still pushed that to her and was more than happy to oblige.

"For him, you can get him..."

"Filet mignon, cooked medium-rare, with a side of loaded baked potatoes," a voice uttered from the side.

Steffan’s head jerked up to see Lauren, sporting an inexplicable smile suddenly appear by their table dressed in a white flannel trouser which hugged her figure in all the right places and a multicolored silk top cinched with a wide belt around her waist.

He felt a lump form in his throat, and he swallowed nervously as he took in her effortlessly flattering outfit from up close.

On the other hand, a dark glint suddenly clouded Dolly’s eyes as she glared at what she could best describe as a date crasher.

’What is she doing here?’ She groaned inwardly.

"Hello, Steffan. I didn’t expect to find you here. I can see that your recovery has been quite fast," Lauren said and the sarcasm in her voice couldn’t be mistaken.

However, it was completely lost to Steffan who only saw the disarming smile he had seen her with earlier as she spoke with the receptionist. But this time, he could also see the two dimples that graced her face and he felt an urge to trace their attractive dip with his tongue.

"I just felt he needed some fresh air so we decided to come here to grab a bite," Dolly explained, trying her best to suppress the rage she was feeling inside.

"I quite agree with you, Doctor. Please do take care of the patient," Lauren said in a tone that gave an extra meaning and walked away, leaving the two people staring after her with befuddled expressions.

Steffan for one was slightly shaken when he saw her suddenly appear by their table.

After that kiss that succeeded in shaking the very foundation of his belief that no woman has the power to break the ice in his heart, unless he permits it, he had not stopped thinking of her.

When he had pressured his brother, Stanley into telling him why Lauren would kiss him in the presence of his family, he had told him that he shared more than an ordinary relationship with Lauren and since then he had been waiting for her to have a talk with her, but she hadn’t shown up again, until when he saw her smiling disarmingly with the receptionist.

How dare she provoke him and suddenly leave him high and dry.

He clenched his feet and was about to go after them, but Dolly, sensing his intention placed a hand over his unclenched hand, reminded him that the waiter was still waiting for their order.

"Filet mignon, with a loaded baked potato on the side," he repeated unconsciously.

Dolly: "..."

"Huh!"

"That’s my order," Steffan replied and went back to scrolling through his phone.

The waiter noted down their orders with a professional nod before excusing himself to convey their requests to the kitchen.

Meanwhile at the private room where Lauren had just entered with Candace, they both burst out in laughter.

"That was awesome. I almost fell in love with you, sister."

"You had better not try that. I don’t have what it takes to fight my brother in-law."

"Did you see the way Steffan almost drooled? And I could give my last card to see the expression on that bitch in a doctors attire. Do you think we can ask for the surveillance of that particular section of the restaurant? I want to go back and watch it whenever I feel sad."

Lauren was rendered speechless.

"What? You’re already a mother of two and still this childish?" she teased.

"I can clearly imagine how she would want to quickly try to erase what happened from Steffan’s mind by her endless talks. But wait, did you know they were going to be here and that was why you chose this particular place?"

Lauren shook her head. Now that she considered it, she began to suspect something.
