Chapter 312: A Great Teacher

"How can achieving such a great feat be termed simple?" Steffan asked.

At this moment he truly felt that in addition to being too slippery, this lady was also very proud. It’s only a proud person that will make one feel as if he was a fool, just like he felt now.

"That’s because I had a great teacher." Lauren said, throwing Steffan into further confusion.

"Do you know Shawn Hudson?" He suddenly asked. Only Shawn had such ability.

They had a group and the ranking of everyone was clearly displayed. As far as he knew, the highest ranked person in the game worldwide was Shawn. Although he was second in position but have not been able to cross Chapter two yet.

Lauren nodded in response to Steffan’s question. "I know him way beyond your imagination," she said with a mysterious smile.

"Is he your fiancée, the one you mentioned before?"

If Lauren was drinking anything at the moment, she was sure she would have choked on it instantly.

"Why are you so stuck on knowing everything about me?"

It’s true that Shawn was the highest ranked player in the game but that was over four years ago. The one at the top now was actually Elvis, Shawn’s son who happened to be Lauren’s godson.

He was able to beat his father’s record when he got to Chapter five in just two days of playing the game, and the following day, was already done with the last Chapter, beating his father’s record of using an entire week to attain Chapter 6.

She had then used her identity and authority as his godmother to coerce him into teaching her. But despite that, she still used over a year to attain the level she was today, making her the fourth in rank as Steffan was actually ranked the third having gotten to Chapter five.

It is obvious that was part of what he couldn’t remember and she was not going to tell him that. That is his punishment for forgetting about her.

But wasn’t it pathetic that what a ten year old could achieve in two days she was able to finally get close after one whole year of striving?

But she was not going to tell Steffan if not he would freak out which was not good for his health. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

It could be said that the game she deliberately played in his presence turned out to be the breakthrough in their threatened relationship as they spent most of the day discussing about the game just like before.

"I think I should call you boss," Steffan said when he heard that she has been playing the game for just a year.

"I wouldn’t mind having you as one of my larkies," Lauren smiled unreservedly.

Seeing her attractive dimples and the beauty it added to her face, he felt a ripple in his heart and his Adam’s apple moved slightly.

He had to look away reluctantly to avoid being caught.

By late afternoon, Sarah returned as she had promised and was in cloud nine when she saw the lively atmosphere in the ward.

"I can see you guys are having a wonderful time."

"You asked me to take care of her and that is exactly what I am doing as your obedient son,"

"You’ve always been very obedient," Sarah said in a tone that added an extra meaning to her words.

"Humph!" Stefffan couldn’t help but feel that she was saying that inorder to please Lauren. But he knew she was wasting her time as he doesn’t have any interest in any woman for that matter.

But he wondered what happened to her undying love for Benita whom she had always advocated for him to marry.

Talking about Benita, it would interest you to know that for three days now she had been locked up and no one knew her whereabouts. Not even her parents who just got to know that she went to cause havoc In Steffan’s wedding and was arrested by the police.

That was exactly the business Sarah was busy with all afternoon.

Benita’s parents had arrived at their villa very early in the morning and had refused to leave.

But when it was obvious that they could’not get any information from the Rosses, they had no choice but to return to the hotel suite where they were staying.

"Are you sure she was taken to the police station?" Rhoda Dawson, Benita’s mom asked.

"Where else would they have taken her to if not the police station?" her husband, Ivan Dawson snapped.

"When I kept warning you about your constantly forcing her to keep pestering that boy, you thought I was just a nagging and uncaring father. See where it has landed all of us. She had to resort to violence in order to be loved.

"But you were here when Sarah promised that she would be her daughter inlaw, who would have thought she would change her mind at the very last minute?"

"Did Steffan ever agree to go with the plan for a day? Did he show any likeness for Benita even after all these years? I saw all those signs and warned you but you wouldn’t listen. Just pray that nothing happens to my daughter. If not, you will not find it funny," Ivan threatened.

"Ivan, the deed has already been done, what’s the use of threatening me?" Rhoda retorted defiantly. "What we should be talking.about now is how to find our daughters whereabouts and save her as soon as possible.

"And who are the "we?" All you do all day is go from one tea party to the other, all in the name of socializing, visit spas and high end shopping malls. Am I not the one that everything will fall back to?" Ivan retorted and stormed out of the house, slamming the door behind him.

"Get the car ready and take me to all the police stations in Baltimore," he ordered his assistant.

"Yes, sir."

Meanwhile at an unknown destination, Benita, who was hanging in between Ife and death was suddenly thrown into the same van that brought her some days back and smuggled back into a police cell just as her father highlighted from his car in front of East District police station.

"I request to see my daughter," Ivan roared in a voice that would have made any ordinary man to quake in fear. But the man before him was a seasoned officer who had been exposed to all kinds of human beings and their threats.

"I told you over the phone that your daughter was never brought here. Do you need me to open all the cells so you can check through them one by one?"

The commissioner still tried to be respectful, after all, the man standing before him was a respected government official.

"You had better be saying the truth because I will ensure you don’t spend a minute extra on that seat if i find out that my daughter is being secretly held in your custody."

The commissioner being a man of few words, stood up from his chair. "Can we go check the cells now?"

Ivan was about going with him when his assistant beside him suddenly said,

"You need to see this, Sir," and handed over his phone to Ivan.
