THE FORGOTTEN HEIRESS-Chapter 250: Just Pray Nothing Happens To Her!
As Kathleen slowly regained consciousness, her head throbbed with pain.
She didn’t know for how long she had been out, but when her eyes finally flickered open, everywhere was pitch black.
She blinked in the darkness and It took her some time for her to get accustomed to the darkness around her.
Panic set in as she realized she had been kidnapped.
"Where... Where am I?" she whispered to herself.
She tried to move but found herself restrained and her heart raced with fear as thoughts of her fate in this eerie place filled her heart.
Soon she heard faint footsteps echoing in the distance, which got louder as it got closer and closer.
Kathleen’s breath quickened as the anticipation of the unknown consumed her.
The door creaked open, and a figure shrouded in darkness entered the room. Kathleen strained her eyes and was able to make out the features of a tall bulky man.
"I hope your stay here has been comfortable so far," the voice belonging to the figure looming over her spoke calmly.
Kathleen tried her best to make her voice sound as unshaken as possible even though she was literally shaken.
"Who are you? And what do you want from me?"
Ignoring her questions the voice sounded again. "You’re here for a reason, Kathleen. A purpose you’ll soon come to understand."
’He even knows my name,’ Kathleen realized in dismay as she struggled against her restraints, her mind racing with thoughts of escape.
"I won’t cooperate with you. Let me go!" She still ordered stubbornly.
The figure remained unperturbed, his demeanor unnervingly composed.
An unpleasant smell hit Kathleen’s nose as the figure got closer to her and patted her hand gently.
"You’ll come to see that resistance is futile, my dear. It’s better to comply."
Kathleen’s heart sank, realizing the gravity of her situation. Fear and uncertainty clouded her thoughts as the figure exited the room, leaving her alone in the unsettling darkness once more.
The heavy silence suffocated her as she braced herself for the unknown, her mind racing with questions about what her captor’s intentions might be and what her fate might hold.
Up till now, she didn’t know who was behind this but she could vaguely guess it had something to do with the Beazell family.

Meanwhile, rage instantly spread over Shawn’s face, his sapphire blue eyes turning the darkest shade of blue as he glared at one of his subordinates who had just finished his report.
"Lousy incompetent fools!" he roared, sweeping the items on his table off in one flurried swift motion. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
"If anything should happen to her, prepare for the funeral of every single soul in your family."
"We are sorry, boss," the man said, too scared to lift up his head.
"Just pray nothing happens to her," Shawn warned in clipped tones as he stormed off.
They were the men he had asked to wait at the airport since morning and report to him about Kathleen’s arrival.
According to their report, they had seen her exit the airport in a car they all believed to be her car and were about to relay the message to their boss when her driver showed up at the airport with exactly the same model of vehicle she had left in.
It was when they saw the driver looking around as if he was there to pick someone up that they guessed something must have gone wrong.
Immediately, they reported to their boss who asked them to follow the car but by then it was already too late as they didn’t know which direction the car had taken, so they had to return to the office.
After leaving his office, Shawn went straight to the IT unit.
"Get your ass off that seat," he ordered in a cold voice, causing the clueless head of IT to shudder involuntarily before scrambling off without delay.
He had a feeling that if he delayed even a second to ask questions, he wouldn’t know how he died from the look on his boss’s face.
Shawn positioned himself before the system and from the information he got from the subordinate, he entered some codes on the computer.
’Kathleen, you have to stay safe for me, please!,’ he prayed as he typed with
lightning speed, on the computer, navigating through encrypted systems and layers of security measures with practiced ease.
He opened a specialized program, and lines of code raced across the screen as he tapped into multiple databases and surveillance networks, starting from the one at the airport surveillance feed where she was reported to have boarded the car.
His focus intensified as he delved deeper into the system, employing every resource at his disposal to trace Kathleen’s movements after her departure from the airport.
His screen displayed a map with blinking dots, indicating the routes the car had taken.
Shawn zoomed in on a specific area, where the dot stopped and didn’t proceed further.
His eyes lit up when he cross checked and discovered it was in a deserted area far away from town where some warehouses have been erected in the past but now covered with bush.
Immediately, he sprang up from the chair taking with him his high tech computer.
"Quick, gather some people immediately, we are setting out," he ordered Johnson who met him at the door of the IT room.
"They are already outside waiting for your instructions sir," Johnson informed him.
He had gone into action the moment he got the news of the Madam’s disappearance from the airport.
Before setting out with his team, Shawn sent a message to Jason to inform him of the situation.
They drove for about two hours following the signals from his laptop through the bushes.
When they got close to where the signal had stopped, they parked their cars at a safe distance and cautiously proceeded on foot, their senses on high alert.
By the time the team arrived at the maze of warehouses, it was almost getting dark.
