THE FORGOTTEN HEIRESS-Chapter 245: Day Out With The Children
The following morning, as Shawn headed to Fairview villa, the sky was adorned with scattered clouds, showcasing hues of soft pink and lavender as the sun gradually rose, casting a gentle glow over Baltimore. π»π³β―β―π€β―π·π―β΄πβ―π.πβ΄π
Leaves, dressed in shades of gold, crimson, and rust, blanketed the streets and sidewalks, creating a picturesque autumn scene.
Shawn arrived in his silver colored Rolls-Royce Phantom, its polished exterior reflecting the morning light.
He stepped out of his car, clad in a tailored coat, exuding a quiet sophistication against the backdrop of the vibrant fall colors.
The children, Eleanor and Elvis, bundled up in cozy sweaters and scarves who were eagerly awaiting their fatherβs arrival rushed outside when they heard the sound of their fatherβs car.
"Good morning daddy."
"Good morning daddy."
"Good morning children." Shawn greeted them with a warm smile, as he met them at the front porch. He held both their hands and they headed to the car.
As the driver opened the car doors, the children eagerly hopped inside, their faces flushed with anticipation.
"Good morning Mr Carl," Elvis greeted the driver.
"Good morning, Mr Carl. How are you today?" Eleanor displayed one of her smiles that has never failed to endear her to as many she chose to bestow it on.
"Good morning Master Elvis, Miss Eleanor. I am good, thank you." Carl replied as he returned Eleanorβs infectious smile, obviously smitten by it.
"How was your night?" Shawn asked the children as they drove off.
"It was good, and yours? Elvis asked politely, as he had been trained to do.
"I had a great night," Shawn responded.
It was actually the truth as he slept like a baby last night and didnβt wake up till this morning.
Turning to his adorable daughter, he asked.
"How about you, darling."
"Wonderful daddy. I kept dreaming that you didnβt come to pick us up and woke up several times in the night but happily went back to sleep when I saw that it was not yet morning. Then I dreamt again that we all went with mummy and uncle Jason and aunt Cheryl."
Elvis shook his head at his "dreamer" sister.
Shawn threw back his head and let out an unrestrained laugh. He liked that part where Kathleen was involved but wasnβt too cool with the extra two people mentioned.
Although he had nothing against them, he needed to bond with his family first before others could be accommodated.
Their first point of call that morning was Baltimore Harbor.
The harbor was already bustling with activities when they got there.
Elvisβs eyes widened in amazement at the sight of the tall ships, while Eleanor excitedly pointed at a nearby street performer juggling colorful balls.
"Look at those ships. Have you ever seen anything like that?" Elvis asked his sister.
Turning to look at the ship, Eleanor exclaimed. "Wow, Daddy! Theyβre so big!"
They had only seen them in movies and books. This was the first time they were seeing ships in real life and it even appeared bigger than they imagined.
"Look at that man throwing and catching the balls so fast," Eleanor said pointing to the juggler.
"He is called a juggler, dear," Shawn informed."
"Can we watch the juggler, Dad? The way he is throwing those balls is so interesting Please..." Eleanor pleaded, clasping her two hands in front.
"Alright, but not for long. We have other places to visit."
"Thanks, dad."
They paused to enjoy the juggler and his crew perform before moving on to the Museum of Art.
As they approached, the grand doors of the arts museum swung open and Shawn, Eleanor, and Elvis stepped into a world of artistic wonder.
At the entrance, which was adorned with magnificent sculptures and vibrant paintings, a friendly museum guide was there to welcome them.
Probably because of the beautiful sight of the cute family he had the good fortune of beholding so early in the morning, his smile was exceptionally warm as he welcomed them.
They were the most eye-catching he had ever seen.
"Welcome to our museum. We are thrilled to have you here today. We wish you the best experience ever as you explore the world of art?"
"Thank you...," Eleanor beamed. She couldnβt wait to dash in.
They were led into the hall and Eleanorβs eyes widened with amazement as she took in the vivid colors of the paintings, while Elvis was drawn to the sculptures, curious to examine each detail up close.
Elvis also discarded his usual aloof self at the sight before him. "Whoa, these sculptures are amazing, Dad. Can I touch them?"
"You can admire them, but remember, we need to be careful, buddy."
"Yeah," Elvis said and went closer, and carefully ran his hand over the sculpture.
The trio wandered through the museumβs halls, exploring various art galleries.
Shawn took the opportunity to engage Eleanor and Elvis in interactive discussions about the artwork, encouraging their curiosity and creativity.
"What do you think the artist was trying to convey in this painting, Eleanor?"
Eleanor shrugged her shoulders, looking clueless.
"Itβs about happiness and joy," Shawn supplied.
Elvis, intrigued by the sculpture, tried to decipher its meaning.
Turning to his father, he asked, "Dad, whatβs this one about?"
"Well, art can mean different things to different people. What does it make you feel?" He threw back the question to Elvis who gave his own opinion and earned a clap from his father.
A particular painting caught Eleanorβs eye, who loved paintings.
"Dad, look at the colors in this painting. Theyβre so beautiful!" she exclaimed. "Can I have it?"
"No you canβt, dear. You canβt take things from the museum because if you do, others will not see what to watch when they come around," Shawn lectured.
"But I can get someone to make something like this for you if you like," Shawn coaxed when he saw the sad look on Eleanorβs face.
"Thanks daddy. You are simply the best."
Shawn chuckled and looked towards where Elvis was staring.
