THE FORGOTTEN HEIRESS-Chapter 120: Prison Break
About an hour later, Kathleen had just finished her first appointment that morning and was preparing for the next one when Ariel, her assistant’s call, entered.
"What’s up?" Kathleen asked as soon as she picked the call.
"I’ve sent the details of the proposal for the acquisition of the Beazell Group to your mail."
"That was fast," Kathleen commended. "Have you spoken with all of them?"
"Not all, but most of the key players have almost been bought over. They are just waiting for things to get messier before they confidently decamp."
"What do you think about granting their request faster?" Kathleen asked,
"You mean..." Ariel began but trailed off.
The person they have sent to keep an eye on Mrs Beazell and her family’s activities had called to inform Kathleen that they were making plans for her to be released from the police station yesterday under the pretense that she was sick.
The plan was that she will be sent to the hospital and from there flown out of the country.
Everything was going according to their plan but just after she was sneaked out of the hospital, Kathleen’s men apprehended her with another set of police officers and brought her straight to the cell.
"I understand," Ariel replied from the other side of the phone. "I will put a call through to Authentic Media House straight away as soon as we are done with this call."
"Good." Kathleen was very satisfied with such a competent assistant. She made a mental note to increase her salary after this whole situation is sorted out.
"I have an appointment soon and need to go. I trust you can handle things perfectly on your side."
"Go ahead Boss, you will get the good news soon," Ariel promised.
If Kathleen was with her, she would have seen the ecstatic smile on her face.
Ariel had also been a victim of the "Beazell mother and daughter’s" excesses over the years, and couldn’t be happier being a part and parcel of the ones plotting their downfall.
By the time Kathleen arrived at the venue for her next appointment, she got another call from Ariel.
"Boss, your orders have been carried out and I’m off to meet the first stakeholder of Beazell Group."
"Good job, Girl. I’m impressed."
"Thanks Boss, you are my role model and I strive to be like you someday," Ariel chimed, a gigantic grin spreading across her face.
She was always elated whenever her boss praised her and today was not an exception.
"Nonsense," Kathleen smiled warmly before hanging up the phone.
Few minutes later, social media went agog with another trending piece of news.
"Update on Mrs Beazell’s Arrest:
In the wee hours of Monday morning, Mrs Beazell, Wife of the Beazell Group’s Chairman was caught trying to escape from the hospital."
"From a reliable source, it was revealed that she was planning to flee the country after feigning sickness in the cell which led to her transfer from the cell to the City Hospital in order to receive treatment."
"She had barely spent a day in the hospital when she plotted her escape but was immediately apprehended by the ever watchful security agents."
The write up ended with a captivating question: "Could this be a failed episode of Prison Break?"
This has doubtless left netizens rolling over with laughter.
"Mission Impossible," someone tweeted.
Someone else tweeted, "How can this be possible, she is not a fool to do such a thing?"
Another netizen posted a reply,
"Hi there, didn’t you see where the info is coming from?"
"OMG! It was released by Authentic Media House. Then it’s true."
Who was Authentic Media House? Authentic Media House is known for reporting authentic and accurate news no matter who was involved which was the reason for its name.
They were not afraid of anyone or the possibility of it being closed down mainly because of the power behind it. It was a media outlet owned by Wyatt Corps.
Other headlines from various media outlets also sent in their reports:
"Sneaky Figure, Discovered To Be Mrs Beazell- Caught In The Act. "
Under it was also a report of how she attempted to escape from the cell very early this morning before twilight.
"Running from the arms of justice? Could she be guilty?"
With this revelation, netizens started castigating her for her ridiculous behavior.
"If she was truly innocent of the crime why would she want to run away."
"Her actions only proves one thing, she is guilty."
As if that was not enough, a strange account suddenly posted what spelt Doomsday for the Beazell Group.
"With this kind of behavior, are we still safe with the Beazell Group?" And it ended with an hashtag #concerned citizen.
Boom! As soon as netizens stumbled upon that post, everywhere went ablaze.
"I just ordered their products two weeks ago. Someone should please advise me what to do with it."
"Do you still need any advice? Hurry up and dispose of it already. Who knows what suicidal substance was packed inside?"
The comments were coming in torrents. So much so that one couldn’t follow again.
With all the comments the Beazell Group’s stock market prices immediately nosedived and before long, their major partners started pulling out.
Seeing the drastic turn of events, Kathleen smirked. "Just a few more hours and will soon be launching out for the huge catch."
She stepped into the building. It was a breakfast parlour owned by Hudson Corporations.
After asking from the person at the counter, she was shown to the table where a couple was already waiting.
"Good morning Sir and Ma’am," Kathleen greeted politely before taking her seat. "I’m sorry to have kept you waiting."
"No, we also just arrived, and it’s still about five minutes to our agreed time so you are not late," Stanley Rosse clarified.
He extended his hand for a handshake, "I’m Stanley Rosse. We met three weeks ago and here with me is my lovely wife, Candace Rosse, she is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Living Hope Foundations."
