The Forbidden Heiress At The All Male Alpha Academy-Chapter 68: Something feels Wrong
Seraphina moved before Theo could blink. There was a burst of silver and white light, her bones twisting right before silver fur erupted too.
A heartbeat later, the silver wolf shot out of the corner and bolted into the forest, the sunlight catching on her fur as she vanished between the overgrown hedges.
At that exact moment, Aurelius stepped into the clearing.
He stilled as his sharp brown eyes followed the fleeting glimmer of silver disappearing beyond the trees, too fast to catch and too unreal to process.
For several seconds, Aurelius simply stood there, his breath caught in his throat.
"A silver wolf..." he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper.
He had never seen one.
In all his years of growing up under the brutal guidance of his Alpha father, in a pack that prided itself on strength, law and heritage, and had been in war with several other packs - exposing him to their brutal world at such a young age, he had never seen a silver wolf before.
Silver-white fur, almost glowing.
And then, there was the scent it had left behind. The moment he inhaled, his body reacted to it.
Wild jasmine.
With a hint of pine.
Undeniably feminine. A female Silver-Wolf.
Aurelius’s brow knitted in question. What was a female werewolf doing here at Gravemont?
That was impossible. The academy was male-only. Females are only admitted into the Luna Academy, never here. It’s never, ever been allowed since Gravemont was established.
But the scent was unmistakable. It was light, floral and intoxicating in a way that made even the trees feel like they were leaning toward it.
"What the hell..." he whispered again, turning toward the path the wolf had taken.
Just before he stepped forward to the path the wolf had taken, he froze again.
A second scent had drifted toward him. The familiar scent of thick pine that only one person carried in this school, with an earthy undertone.
Redhead.
Aurelius frowned. What was Thaddeus doing here? Had he been the one he had sensed the first time he was here?
And why on earth did his scent overlap faintly with the feminine one?
Strange.
Very strange.
With tense steps, Aurelius followed the pine scent toward the greenhouse.
Even before he reached the broken entrance, he could smell the blood and dust in the air. Something must have happened in here, quite recently.
The structure had almost collapsed before, but right now it looked like a warzone. More glasses were shattered, vines had been torn apart and tables were either broken or flipped over.
And then, the sound of groaning wolves that were just struggling to stand up from the gouges in the soil.
Dozens of them.
And he was shocked to see that they were the same section of wolves as him, the same year. From the looks of things, someone had dominated them all and savaged them hell out of every one of them.
"What happened here?" Aurelius demanded, stepping inside.
Several second-years flinched at his presence.
Even half-conscious, the fear instinct toward him was immediate.
Aurelius scanned the wreckage again.
There were deep gouges in the soil, impact craters, teeth marks on the walls and wood, and claw marks on the walls also. Something furious and powerful has fought here.
And that familiar feminine Jasmine scent lingered faintly over it all, and once again, it was overlapped by the scent of pine.
Aurelius stepped toward the wolf with the least injuries, a large brown wolf still lying on the ground, breathing hard. He nudged him with his boot.
"Shift," he ordered.
The wolf whimpered and obeyed, shaking back into a trembling second-year boy.
Aurelius crouched, eyes burning into him, "Who did this?"
The boy swallowed, but didn’t say anything at first.
"Was it a girl?" He questioned again, "I’m not going to ask for the third time,"
Shame radiated off the wolf as he finally replied, "No, it...it wasn’t. It was a first year,"
"A boy, right?"
"Yes,"
"What’s his name?"
He swallowed again, "D...do you promise not to tell anyone about this? If this gets out, we’ll become a joke to everyone, and...,"
"Name!" Aurelius demanded.
The boy stared at the others, who also watched the conversation anxiously. Then, he looked back at Aurelius and stammered, "T... thaddeus. Thaddeus Douglas,"
It made sense, and at the same time, it didn’t.
Aurelius had one more question to ask, "Tell me, what colour was his wolf?!"
The boy shook his head, "I’m not sure if I saw it correctly because he was too fast, but I think it was silver,"
A silver wolf.
A feminine scent.
Thaddeus. Thaddeus’s scent.
Thaddeus changing into a silver wolf that carries a feminine scent.
Something was wrong. Something was deeply wrong.
Aurelius had always been fascinated by the Redhead guy with a small statue, but the eyes and aura of a legacy. He always thought there was something odd about Thaddeus Douglas.
But right now, that fascination has changed into one of genuine intrigue.
And he was going to get to the bottom of this.
.
.
.
Theo was back in human form, standing somewhere that resembled Ashwood. She leaned against one of the trees, trying to catch her breath as she scanned her environment for any signs of life.
Did Aurelius follow? Did any of them?
*We’re safe for now. They won’t find us here... unless you keep panicking and your scent spikes again,*
Theo scoffed under her breath, *Right. Sure. Let me just... switch off being terrified that I’ll get caught naked with a female part instead of a male’s*
A small, almost amused huff echoed in her mind, *Yeah that’s a problem. We can’t return to the dorm like this. Aurelius might still be out there*
Theo groaned and ran a hand down her face, *What are we gonna do about this?*
Seraphina hesitated, something Theo wasn’t used to from her wolf. Then, Sera said, *There is... something I can try,*
Theo lifted her head sharply, *Something like what?*
*It’s kind of an old, buried instinct. I’ve never done it before,*
A ripple of uncertainty rolled through the bond.
*And I don’t know if it will work,*
*Tell me,*
*I can borrow you my fur by giving it shape and making it stay on you,* There was a beat of silence before Seraphina added, *Like clothing*
Theo slowly blinked, *That’s... not possible. Is it?*
*For most wolves? No,* Her tone dipped lower, *For us? I think it might be,*
Theo stared into the trees, her heartbeat stopping for a moment. "...You’re serious,"
*You think I’m joking? If you want me to try it, I will,*
Theo swallowed hard, *Do it.*
