The Forbidden Heiress At The All Male Alpha Academy-Chapter 198: Inside the Sparring Ring
Theo was drenched in sweat again. She was done with her drills for today and was getting ready to leave the training grounds.
Her neck was still recovering from the bite, stinging every time she turned too sharply. She had also avoided looking at the mirror to spare her eyes from seeing the new mate mark sitting there.
And it also didn’t help that Cain’s scent followed the mark.
Everyone who saw her thought she’d finally had sex with Cain. It was sickening whenever someone whispered it when she passed by.
Today, Theo was in a bit of a rush to get back to the mansion. She hadn’t noticed Jarred or Rex hovering around her room for the past two days, which means she now had the opportunity to explore the mansion.
She wanted to get dirt on Cain. Maybe there was something in that vast house she could finally use against him.
She threw her bag over her shoulders and started walking toward the exit when the male warriors began whispering amongst themselves. Everyone instantly straightened up, and those slacking picked up the pace and moved like they’d never procrastinated for one second.
The whispers hushed as fast as they came. There were only three people in this Pack she knew who were powerful enough to receive this reaction.
Jarred.
Rex
Or...
As suspected, that overbearing pressure descended over the grounds and Theo groaned. A part of her wished to find somewhere to hide till he was gone, but the stubborn, unforgiving part just stood there, glaring in the direction he was coming from.
But he never came. Even though the pressure never went away. Was he not here after all?
"Who are you looking for?" His voice whispered from behind all of a sudden, and Theo’s heart jumped along with her body. She half-screamed and whirled around to see Cain standing there. How did he even get there?
"No one, I was just leaving," She said and made to walk away, but Cain grabbed her arm.
"Not so fast,"
She looked down at where he touched her, disgust rolling off her face. When she tried to pull away, he didn’t let go, "You’re done with training already? But I came to watch,"
"Too bad," She said flatly, "Now let go of me,"
"I need you strong enough, Runaway," He said, "And I need you strong enough as fast as possible. Now, what better way to make that happen than to give you more than just training?"
Her brows creased. What was he saying?
"How about a Sparring session with one of the warriors?"
She glared at him. Without her wolf, she would easily get beaten up and he knew that. She had avoided every man in these grounds since she came here, forced herself to cancel out their gossip about her.
"No,"
His lips tugged slightly in a corner, and he started pulling her with him toward the large sparring ring.
"Cain!" She growled, pounding against his hold, "Let go of me! I’m not interested in whatever messed-up shit you have in store for me, Cain!"
Everyone stared at them as he dragged her. It was pretty weird, and probably the first time they heard anyone calling the Alpha by his given name. Most of them referred to him as ’Boss’ or ’Alpha’. ’Alpha’ was the most common. The only person that they’ve heard call Cain by his first name was Zeke.
Cain hurled her with one hand into the ring, and she landed on the hard floor with a small roll. Anger bubbled up in her eyes as she stood up.
"You," Cain called, barely glancing back at the warrior standing by the side of the ring, "Get in there,"
The male swallowed tightly at first, then his expression hardened with resolve and he stepped into the ring. He stood opposite Theo, his muscles flexing as he stretched them for the upcoming fight.
"If you step out...," Cain warned the moment she tried to climb out, forcing her to stop and look at him, "I would make you bait to every male standing here. It’ll be them all against you. In your current condition, you won’t make it two steps before you’re flattened,"
She was literally spitting venom with her eyes at this point. Theo’s veins surged and popped through her skin as rage filled them up. She placed herself back into the ring and faced the male warrior.
His face was familiar.
He was the one who made the nasty comment about her the other day. She would have found pleasure in beating him up if she had her wolf.
"The Rules of this match are simple," Cain declared, his large arms crossed over his chest.
Behind him, a small crowd of warriors were gathering to watch.
"The first to break the other’s limb wins. No one is allowed to leave the ring till the first rule is reached,"
If someone could be killed with the eyes, Cain would have been long dead by now. Theodora cursed under her breath, her heart pounding violently in her chest.
If she got her limb broken, it would take months to heal! She was pretty sure Cain didn’t have months, and neither did she.
She couldn’t afford to be handicapped in a territory like this. Being wolfless was more than enough, which means he was intentionally doing this to her.
If she won, she would be stronger to his advantage
If she lost, she would have to worry about a broken arm and a deadly man.
Perfect!
"Never fought a woman before," The male said to her from across the ring. He seemed a little too excited for this, "I was always curious to how you survived Gravemont. Maybe this fight would tell me something,"
"Lucky you," She replied, rolling her shoulders, "Your first lesson comes with a broken limb and public humiliation,"
He laughed through his teeth. It was good to know he was underestimating her. She would have him regretting it very soon.
Wolfless or not, she would not go down so easily.
"Luna, just because you train doesn’t mean you are stronger than me. You don’t even have a wolf," He bared his teeth.
"That would make the humiliation even worse. A Wolfless woman knocking down a fully grown wolf. Do me a favour and don’t show your face in front of me when I’m done with you,"
He didn’t smile this time, "You’ll regret looking down on me, Luna,"
"Was just about to say the same thing," She flashed him a smile, taking a firm stance.
Outside, Cain’s voice boomed out loud, "BEGIN!!"
