Erebos.

Theo didn’t know much about it, but she knew Erebos was described as a shadow God who was neither good nor bad.

She walked alone to her dorm, after changing back to her regular clothes. There were a few minutes left till curfew, and Theo moved sluggishly. She kept turning around every few seconds, like she would catch Sylas coming up behind her.

She knew he was there. She just couldn’t see him with shadows everywhere.

As she arrived at her door, she saw a figure standing across her and glanced. Liam stood by the door to his room, turning the locks when their eyes met.

She hesitantly raised her hand and waved at him. His eyes remained indifferent toward her, and he pushed his door open and walked into his room without a word.

She sighed in dismay, then also walked into her room.

Zeke was standing in front of the door when she walked in.

"You look even more distressed than you did last night," He said, cupping her face softly, "What happened this time? Was it Liam again? I just saw the dude walk by and I wanted to..."

"I want to spend the night with Sylas tonight," She stated.

Zeke went still.

"There’s a lot going on with him, and I want to be there for him tonight," She added nervously.

Zeke dropped his hand from her face, and there was a twitch in his eyes. Darkness clouded his eyes too much, and then he grabbed both shoulders and said firmly, "You’re not spending a second with him, Hellcat. No fucking way!"

"I’ve always spent the night with you, Zeke. And I told you before, he’s also my mate. I can’t just...leave him,"

"What about me, then?" Zeke urged, his eyes trembling, "I can’t sleep without you, Hellcat. Fuck that, I need you in my arms. It feels empty without you," He said so softly that she felt her heart ache.

"I know," She was torn, and then sat down on the bed, "You need me to sleep with you and that’s why even though I want to be with him tonight, I can’t go back. I wouldn’t leave you alone,"

"You... can’t go back?" Zeke drawled in realisation, "You were with him, weren’t you?"

"Yes," She didn’t deny it, "And you don’t get to be mad at me for that. It’s just like how I am with you, Zeke. You want me around as much as I want you, and that’s exactly how I feel toward him, too. It’s not my fault that I have two mates, and it’s definitely not my fault that both of you don’t get along! That’s why you hate seeing me with him so much! And maybe if you guys just talked about your differences, maybe it wouldn’t hurt that bad anymore,"

"It doesn’t matter whether I talk to him or not!" Zeke sat down next to her, his tone sharp with clarity, "I can’t share what’s mine, Hellcat. I won’t share you with anyone!"

"He said the same thing too," Theo replied, steeling her mind once again, "And I’ll tell you exactly what I told him. I’m not choosing one of you and rejecting the other. It sounds selfish, I know, but I’d rather have both of you or lose both of you. I mean, the Moon Goddess knew what she was doing when she made both of you my mates, and trust me, I’ve been trying to balance the feeling, and it’s tearing me apart. Maybe she did it to get both of you close again, give you a chance to settle things! You have to share, Zeke, whether you like it or not!"

His eyes had become unreadable and there were many lines between his eyes, "You’re right, Hellcat," He mentioned with a low voice, "You’re selfish, and I’m still not letting you go anywhere,"

"Why do both of you have to be so impossible?" She cursed under her breath, and then continued, "You know, Sylas is actually very considerate of you!"

"Bravo!" He said sarcastically

"Let me finish!" She pressed a hand over his mouth, "He would have easily coaxed me not to leave, but he knows about your condition, Zeke. That’s why he’s never asked me to spend the night with him. That’s why I’m always here. It’s not me he cares about here, Zeke, it’s you! Despite the pull, he forces himself to hold back. And that’s where you fall short! You’re too hotheaded to give a damn, and you make it so hard for me to balance between both of you, and it’s tearing me apart!"

"I don’t fall short of anything, Hellcat," Zeke said, pulling her hand off her lips with a dangerous glare, "I know that bastard, Hellcat. He’s not being considerate of me in anything. He’s got this huge plan that needs me in it, and that is why he won’t let me die too easily. That’s why he lets you come back to me every night. Sylas isn’t someone to be trusted!"

She burst up from the bed angrily, "Well, I trust him!" Her heart shook heavily and tears gathered again, "The man I know is someone who’s been there, someone I can trust. I don’t know your story with him, but you gotta TALK things out with him properly! Because I am sick and tired of being stuck between your messes, you hear me?!"

She walked out and slammed the door shut behind her, breathing hard and fast.

Theo pressed her head on the wall, trying to stop her body from trembling so hard. Fights with Zeke always hit hard, but never this hard. It felt something was literally squeezing her heart in its palm over and over again, releasing it only when it was about to burst.

The door was yanked open and Zeke burst out of it.

She looked up from the wall to face him.

Then, he walked up to her like a man on a mission and pulled her so hard into his chest it felt like he wanted to merge them into one.

Her tears stained his shirt as she sobbed into it. She could hear his heart pounding a lot faster than hers, and his body was shaking uncontrollably. At this rate, he was going to start spasming anytime soon.

"I hate him so much, Hellcat," He uttered with profound spite, "But I hate to see you cry even more,"

He looked down at her, "And that is why I’ll make an exception for today,"

Her eyes widened as she looked up at him.

"You can...," He gritted his teeth, "go and stay with him for the night. I’ll manage,"
