Chapter 86: Dinner.

Shikera wiped her face with the face towel and sneezed into it, before discarding the fabric on her bed. Staring at the door to make sure she locked it, she picked up the slacks and white shirt she had earlier placed on the bed and slipped into them one by one.

When she was done, she looked in the mirror and noticing the slightly awkward raise in her chest, she removed the shirt and wore a bra before wearing the shirt back.

After she was satisfied with her look, she tied her hair up and walked out of her room. It was almost time for dinner so she didn’t bother going to Ethan’s room to greet him.

At the table, the normal gloomy air which normally hung in the air was nowhere to be found and Shikera didn’t feel suffocated. She sat beside Raine like she always did, and this time around, Esther was sitting on her other side and not beside Ethan who was sitting opposite her.

Ruthlyn was sitting between Raymond and Enoch, with the latter who was smiling like an idiotic and smitten fiance. Shikera tsked and shook her head, as she watched him rearrange all the dishes on the table until all the full plates were placed in front of Ruthlyn.

Staring down at the plates of roasted sweet potatoes, spinach, and chickpeas, which was placed before her, she sighed and picked up her fork to start eating. The others followed and soon, the table was as quiet as a graveyard except for the slight sound of spoon hitting on plate.

They were halfway into eating when a voice came from the kitchen, "Madam, can I bring out the desert now? I made it especially for Young master Ethan and his brother since that was what they liked since they were young."

The table fell quiet, as the temperature in the room decreased drastically.

"Mother, did you allow her stay in the kitchen when you knew I would be coming down to eat?"

Her?, Shikera thought, not recognizing the voice. However, she also found it strange that there was a worker in the house when Ethan was also there and from his reaction just now, she could tell it was not something new.

"No, Ethan. She said she could remember the recipe so I simply allowed to do whatever she wanted, since it’s not like she is a stranger."

"Mom, what are you saying?" Enoch whispered from across the table, the grin which he had been wearing earlier was nowhere to be found now.

Raine looked at her two sons, one tensed and the other with an eerie smile on his face. Suddenly, as if she just remembered something, she jumped up to her feet and said,"I didn’t know Ethan would still be here until she finished, since he always left the table earlier this days...with Kera. I thought Kera could—"

"Enjoy," Ethan cut her off, holding Shikera’s hand and pulling her with him as he walked away from the table.

"Yes!" Raine screamed silently, when she was sure they couldn’t hear her again.

"You just ruined the mood, Mom. What ’yes’ are you saying? And why did you say Ethan always left with Kera when everyone normally leaves the table together?" Enoch frowned, confused just like every other person on the table at his mother’s drama just now.

"Nonsense, I only wanted them to leave early today. Which couple always sleep in different rooms even when they rarely see each other in the daytime? Shikera only goes to his room for a few minutes before coming back out each night, what use is that?"

Enoch chuckled,"A few minutes is enough to do anything. Don’t be so old schooled, Mom."

"Idiot, you can never understand." She turned to the kitchen door,"You should come out now, Hazel..."

At the head of the table, Chris’ brows furrowed as he listened in on his wife and younger son. It seemed Ethan had been listening to him after all, and his method of getting Ethan to do his will had worked once again.

On the other hand, Shikera pulled her hand out of Ethan’s as she whispered,"Did I tell you my own face has to be kept hidden too? Why did you take me with you?"

"She wanted us to leave together, and probably make sure the whole mansion doesn’t get to sleep." Ethan explained simply.

"Why would want us to make sure of that? And how would we do that?"

"By getting into bed now, and..." Ethan pushed open the door to his room, and after they had both stepped in, he locked the doors.

"And?"

"You don’t have to do anything. I am the one who has to remove those annoying clothes you are wearing, get you under me, and then f**k you senseless."

He threw a glance at the speechless Shikera, and her red face made him want to continue, "Before I do that, I have to eat my desert though."

"De-desert?" Shikera stuttered.

"Don’t give me that face, I know I have to work for it. Your juices won’t start pouring just because I asked, right? And..."

"Ethan!"

"And... why do you look so strange?" he succeeded in his attempt of getting her mind away from his earlier words.

"How do I look strange?"

"Your peaches don’t seem to be greeting me tonight, is something wrong?"

Without allowing Shikera register his words, he drew her closer to himself and yanked her shirt open, causing the buttons to fall to the floor.

Startled, Shikera tried to pry his hand away from her shirt when he threw her a smothering gaze, which decapitated her immediately.

"There they are," he whispered."Haven’t you been caging them for more than nine hours already? It’s dangerous."

As he talked, he slipped his hand into the torn shirt and to her back, unhooking her bra. With expertise and speed which Shikera could not comprehend, he removed it and her breast was exposed to his black eyes which sparkled immediately.

"They are greeting me now," he whispered, looking up for a second to Shikera’s eyes before his gaze went back there. Immediately, he bent and took one of them in his mouth.
