The Faceless Billionaire Celebrity Wife-Chapter 58: Go With The Flow.
Shikera skipped down the stairs, taking two at a time as she supported her balance by holding unto the rails. Getting to the living room, she was about to successfully sneak into the kitchen when she heard Ethan’s voice.
"Are you hiding from someone?" His voice held a hint of mockery, as if he was taunting her sneaking capability.
"From you," Shikera answered inwardly, while plastering a wide smile on her outer face.
"Who would I hide from? I was simply going to get water in the kitchen," she lied, and could see from Ethan’s expression that he didn’t believe her one bit.
"But you have been sneaking around the house since you woke up, and you only came down to eat breakfast this morning after Ruthlyn accompanied you. You aren’t avoiding me, right?" The man pressed, enjoying the different expressions which flitted across the face of the woman standing before him. She probably didn’t know but he could see from the frown on her face that she was just thinking of the lie to tell him, but he was going to spare her that.
"But there’s also no reason to avoid me so I’ll let it go," he smiled when he saw the relieved smile which crossed Shikera’s face, before saying, "Instead, you should get your shoes so we won’t be late."
Shikera frowned. Did she have an appointment with him?
"Late to where?" she asked, not hiding her confused state this time.
Ethan deadpanned,"To get your Ice Cream. It’s a Sunday today and unless you plan to forgo it for this week, I suggest you get your sneakers and let’s be on our way."
"But didn’t you always buy it and then bring it home? Why do we need to go together?" She argued.
"Because we aren’t just a contract couple now. Do you need me to get the sneakers myself?"
Seeing that there was no way for her to avoid this outing with Ethan, Shikera looked down at what she was wearing. A black oversized hoodie, and faded denim which was equally as big as the hoodie; she sighed.
"I will have to change my clothes too so just wait and I’ll be down in thirty minutes." She turned to leave for her room.
"You don’t have to change anything, except you’re dressing for someone else apart from me," Ethan stopped her.
In a few minutes, Shikera was in her sneakers as she walked down the stairs to meet him.
"I hope..." she was about to ask if he still didn’t think she needed to change when her eyes widened. Why was he wearing the same clothes she was wearing? Though his hoodie wasn’t oversized and his jean trousers snug against his legs perfectly while hers were the complete opposite, anyone would still be able to tell that this was done in an attempt to dress alike. What more? Why did he look very handsome even though he was dressed this casual?
If Shikera could hear Ethan’s thought, she would wonder if he had some kind of physic power as he was thinking exactly the same thing she was, except he wasn’t thinking about himself but about her. Even with slightly tangled hair, she still looked as pretty as she would if her hair was made up.
He stepped closer to her and completed her beautiful appearance with a black face cap and a facemask.
Taking two steps back to check her out, he nodded and took her hands in his before leading her out. Unknown to Shikera, this was his first attempt at loving her.
Watching them from above, Enoch leaped out of his hiding place as soon as they walked out the door. He sprinted to the hallway mirror and checked himself out for the last time, before running out the door to the back of the villa where he had been seeing Ruthlyn from earlier that day. Even if he was the dumbest person in the whole world, he could still tell that she had been loitering around there because she knew he could see her there and because she was waiting for him.
He was even less surprised to see that she was dressed up for going out. She probably wanted this to be their first date and he didn’t have any problem with that. In fact, he had a list of couples lounge lined up that they could go to.
"Should I get the car?" He asked simply when he got close enough for her to hear him. Even though he had not been able to talk to her since the previous night, he intentionally skipped talking about her agreement to date him.
"Yeah..."
★★★
"Ruth?" Raymond called, stepping out of the door.
"Did Ethan ask her to come over?" he wondered out loud, walking over to Ethan’s villa. He placed his hand on the door to enable it access his fingerprint, before the door opened with a ’click’ sound. He walked into the house, frowning at how quiet it was.
"Ruth?!" He called out, his voice echoing to tell him the house was empty.
"Enoch!" He tried again, before he was finally convinced that no one was home. Since Ethan would have answered if he was home, he believed everyone had gone out without him.
Walking back out of the villa, he took out his phone. Not to call any of the betrayers who left him at home but to call the one person he wanted to spend a quiet Sunday afternoon with, Cyprian.
"Hey, Cyprian!"
"Hey, Raymond!" The voice from the other end of the call was just as cheery as Raymond’s own, showing that she was in a good mood.
"You busy?" He asked, still testing the waters.
"No," came the reply. "Still super bored as hell."
Raymond jumped at the opportunity, "Then do you want to come over? There’s actually no one here and I thought you might want to..."
"I’m on my way! Let’s just go with the flow," Cyprian agreed without letting him complete his sentence. Immediately she was done talking, she hung up on the call just in time for her not to hear Raymond’s yell of elation.
"I can just go wait for her inside," he calmed himself down.
