Chapter 46: Truth Or Dare?

"Ooh...That?" Cyprian laughed, remembering what had happened earlier in the garage at Anderson Corporation. She answered with her mouth this time around, as she could see that Ruthlyn was also curious for the answer.

Cyprian had followed the men to the garage, walking stealthily behind them. Thinking that none of them had realized her presence yet, she was shocked when the three men suddenly disappeared from her view.

"Cyprian?!" Raymond’s voice, coming from behind her, shocked her all the more as she thought he was at her front just now. How did he get behind her so fast?

"What are you doing, Cyprian?" Raymond asked her, looking around to make sure there was no one around in the garage.

"Looking for you of course," Cyprian replied why shaking off the feeling of shock. She continued, "Where’s Ethan DeLoach and the other man?"

"Stop this, Rian. Didn’t Miss Anderson tell you the marriage is fake?"

"And if she told me?" Cyprian shrugged. She didn’t care what was going to happen today, all she knew was that she must meet her friend.

"Then you must know that a contract marriage is always signed with stakes. Miss Anderson was conditioned not to tell anyone about being married to Ethan DeLoach..."

"Out with the long story, Ray. I am not breaching any contract here and Shikera didn’t tell me anything about her husband! Now, will you let me meet Ethan DeLoach?"

"What will you do when you see him?"

"Of course, I’ll take a picture of his face and upload it on social media," Noticing the frown that formed on Raymond’s face, she chuckled. "Was that what you expected me to say? Sorry to disappoint you then, but I wanted to sign another contract with him."

"Contract?"

"Yeah, I’ll keep my mouth shut on everything I know about him while he lets me see my friend whenever I want to. He can set the stakes himself."

"Are you..." Raymond wanted to ask if she was sure before a message interrupted him.

"Draft out the contract and get her into the car." The simple message which was from Ethan, read.

Back In The Present...

"So basically, I didn’t communicate with Ethan DeLoach directly!" Cyprian concluded.

"So you signed a contract never to release any news that relates to Ethan DeLoach? When is the contract expiration date?" Shikera asked, her hands moving as fast as it could.

"Probably 20 years after my death..." Cyprian answered, like signing the contract was nothing.

Seeing that Shikera’s expression was already changing, Cyprian hurriedly added, "I didn’t lose you know. I have the opportunity to see you anytime I want now and uhm...I can see Raymond anytime I want too."

To stop her friend from making any emotional comments, she jumped up on her feet and looked around, admiring the interior decorations of the Villa.

"OMG Kera! Ethan DeLoach might be a jerk to you but his house? It brings a sense of peace and tranquility. You are never going to feel tired or sick in this house."

A week passed by in the twinkling of an eye, leaving more frustration and dismay in its wake. Shikera still hadn’t regained her voice and she was extremely on edge to the point that she only slept and ate, without even sleepwalking.

Ethan on the other hand, made more trivial mistakes on projects he was handling in both Anderson and DL Corporation, that he took a leave for a fortnight even when he knew the work would have piled up when he returned.

Having not found a way to kiss Shikera and confirm that her lips were the cure, he could do nothing but wait. Presently, it was almost midnight as he walked out of the house to the back of the villa.

To cheer the master and mistress of the villa up, Enoch and Raymond had planned a simple late night dinner over a bonfire with the venue of the occasion being the back of the villa.

Shikera had gone out earlier so he was sure he was the only one they were waiting for, and he was right. The round table had been set and everyone was seated already, leaving a vacant chair for him beside Shikera.

He took his seat, getting lost in his own world as soon as his back touched the chair. Not more than ten minutes had passed before a loud laughter jolted him out of his thoughts.

The laughter was from Enoch, who didn’t stop even after Ethan had sent a cold glare in his direction.

"Is Ethan going to play with us?" Enoch asked, after he was done laughing.

"Play what?"

"Truth or dare. It’s a game where..."

"I’m not dumb," Ethan deadpanned, leaving Enoch’s question answered. He examined the faces of the people around the table, immediately noticing the plea expressed in their eyes. Even Shikera who had been dull these past days was staring at him with a mixture of excitement and plea in her eyes.

"Alright," he agreed, smiling inwardly at their shouts of excitement.

Enoch took over at that point, picking up the bottle of wine they had just exhausted, and placing it on the table.

"Alright! We have to change out seating arrangement, so as to enable everyone have equal chance," he said, directing everyone to their new seats.

Of course, Ethan maintained his initial seat since he didn’t stand up from it in the first place. Raymond was sitting by his right, Shikera after him, and then Ruthlyn and finally Enoch.

After they had all settled down, the bottle was spinned and it ended up with its bottom facing Ruthlyn and the other side facing Raymond.

"Truth or dare?" Raymond asked, grinning wickedly at his sister.

"Truth," Ruthlyn chuckled, and her ever serious expression was nowhere to find. This was the first time Shikera was seeing her loosen up.

"Uhm...how many boyfriends have you had?" Raymond asked, laughing when his sister’s eyes widened at his question.

"I think...six or seven."

Ruthlyn’s answer seemed like a bombshell which had been dropped at the table. Everyone was quiet for a while before they realized themselves and continued the game, with the bottle turning to everyone of them except Ethan. Shikera was beginning to think Enoch was intentionally manipulating the bottles movement.

"Last round!" Enoch called, checking the time and noticing it was almost midnight. He spinned the bottle and together with the others at the table, watched the bottles movement with bated breath, until it finally stopped.

The bottle’s neck was facing Ethan while its bottom faced Shikera.

"Truth or Dare?" Ethan asked, his voice causing a rippling effect in the ears of the people sitting at the table.

"Dare!" Was Shikera’s answer which she mouthed, a taunting smile on her lips. She was sure Ethan could not dare her to do something very difficult, compared to if she chose truth, where he would have the opportunity to ask her questions she didn’t want to answer.

"That’s great," Ethan nodded in approval at her choice, before stating his dare.

"I dare you to kiss me."
