The Faceless Billionaire Celebrity Wife-Chapter 32: Female Lead and Male Lead.

Shikera’s eyes widened as her brain processed what she heard. Esther was not Ethan’s daughter, and Mignon was not his wife?!

"Then who is Mignon?!" She questioned. Had this family been joking with her from the beginning?

Ethan was relieved that she caught his bait, and that confirmed his theory from the previous night that Shikera had misunderstood his relationship with Mignon.

"Mignon is my sister while Esther is her daughter; I adopted her after her mother disappeared," he replied, narrowing his eyes at her reaction to his words.

She simply rounded her mouth in an ’oh’ motion, and nodded her head twice. Shikera was actually more shocked than she looked but she tried to mask it, remembering that this was the same person that made Ethan hate reporters.

"Aaah, you had a sister?" She queried, wondering why she had never heard anything like that, even from her father.

"Obviously. Now, can you excuse me?" Without waiting for her answer, Ethan walked to the door and opened it wide while waiting for her to walk out, which she did while cursing under her breath.

She was outside already before remembering the reason she had come here in the first place, but she couldn’t go back so she went to the kitchen, hoping to find something she could use against her headache.

Raymond led the doctors into the house, while musing inwardly if there was a meeting between The Mega Families in this house today. What with the two doctors, both Miss Anderson’s own and his Boss’s own, being members of The Mega Families?

"Is Kera’s case urgent?" Raymond heard Miss Anderson’s doctor ask again, for the umpteenth time that afternoon.

"We can’t tell, Doctor Alexander. She has only been complaining of headache but she has not been able to eat too," he replied her, the same way he had done the previous times she asked.

He lead the doctor to Shikera’s room while Ethan’s doctor found his way to Ethan’s room, since he was not a stranger at DeLoach’s mansion.

On getting there, he found that his Boss and the rest of the family were crowded in Shikera’s room. What had happened in the thirty minutes he had been gone?!

He moved sideways, allowing the doctor to bypass him as she hurried into the room.

"What happened to her?" Doctor Krystal asked Ethan, immediately getting to work as soon as she could spot the head of brown hair peeking from under the sheets. Though the report Ethan’s assistant had given her was that Shikera only had a simple headache, Krystal knew her patient and she had prepared herself for the worst.

Ethan, who had been sitting beside the bed worriedly, stood up when the doctor approached.

"Thirty minutes ago, she only complained of headache but now she says she hot one moment and then say she’s cold the next moment," he replied to the doctor’s question.

He signified to Raymond to get his own doctor here too, not thinking for a moment that this was not their area of expertise. All he could think of now was to have as many doctors as possible to watch over her.

In a few minutes, his own doctor walked in and taking a glance at the girl in bed, the man’s brows furrowed.

"I think she’s going to have to recover by herself because any kind of medication taken in her condition will only be rejected,"

Ethan waited for a sign of disagreement from Shikera’s doctor but the woman simply stood up, saying,

"That’s it. You will have to take care of her for the next few days until she’s fit enough."

Ethan was confused. Though he knew people with the sickle cell gene were prone to sickness a thousand more times than normal people, he didn’t know an ordinary wine with 0.6 percent alcohol, as Shikera had told him, could cause this much damage.

"Why do you think her immune system is this weak? With the care from her father and you, I thought she would be a little luckier than all other sicklers." He asked.

The Doctors laughed simultaneously as if they had planned it before Ethan’s doctor spoke,

"Can I see you for a moment, Ethan?" He requested.

Ethan agreed and the both of them walked out of the room, with Ethan leading the way to his study.

As soon as they entered, the smile on the Doctor’s face fell as he said,

"Raymond told me the nightmares haven’t stopped yet. Thought I told you to find the reason it stopped four years ago," With a tone of urgency, he took out his phone and tapped on the screen in quick succession, texting someone.

"I couldn’t think of anything that could have cured it. It stopped around the time of Mignon’s scandal so..." He remembered what happened this morning, and since that was the reason he had requested for his doctor, he recounted what happened to the man.

"So you mean, you almost strangled her because she woke you up from your sleep?" The doctor inquired, trying to get his facts straight. He wondered why both husband and wife’s health were this problematic.

Seeing Ethan nod in confirmation to his question, he said,

"It means your case is getting worse, Ethan. In time, you will have to stop working because you won’t be able to concentrate on anything."

"The cure?" Ethan asked nonchalantly, as if the doctor’s words didn’t bother him one bit.

"There’s none that I know of, but one that you know but just can’t remember yet. That’s our only chance, Ethan, and we can’t bear to let go of it."

Ethan sighed loudly before promising his doctor to think more about it. If not for anything, he had to do it for Anderson’s corporation which he was presiding over now in the meantime.

As the clock ticked on and the sun began to set, Shikera’s condition worsened. Her doctor had left some hours ago with the instruction that they nurse her back to health without letting her take any type of medication and even though Ethan had tried to stop her, his efforts had been futile. It was not like he could use his power against her since she was not his doctor.

Presently, he was sitting in Shikera’s room with Ruthlyn and Raymond and their faces were scrunched up in worry.

"Water..." Shikera moaned and water was quickly brought to her, by Ethan who slightly raised her head up so as to stop the water from pouring through her lips.

However, his efforts were in vain as she was not able to get any water into her mouth. He tried raising her head higher but she groaned in discomfort and he stopped, turning to Ruthlyn.

"Any other way we can feed her the water?" He asked, seeking their suggestions.

Ruthlyn shook her head while Raymond suggested that they fedd her with a straw.

"Water..." Shikera’s voice came again, making Ethan turn to Ruthlyn and Raymond.

"You can excuse us now. Raymond, get the straw."

He waited until the two were out of the door before giving a glance at Shikera’s parched lips, and then lifting up the glass of water to his lips.

When his sister was alive, he had watched enough TV dramas under her coercion, to know what the Male Lead would do to the Female Lead at this moment.

Thinking of that, he brought his lips down to meet Shikera’s own.
