"She is my daughter," Jordan replied, his lips pulling up at the sides.

The smile on his face was sad though, contradicting the frown on Ethan’s face.

Instead of expressing his shock and asking Jordan to explain what he meant by Shikera being his daughter, Ethan turned instead to Victor.

"Do you need my recommendation for a good psychiatric hospital?"

"Why?" Victor asked, jumping at the opportunity to taunt Ethan one more time. "Are you trying to flaunt your knowledge of psychiatric hospitals because you frequent them?"

"No, Idiot. I wanted to refer one to your insane father over here," Ethan deadpanned.

"What?!" Victor yelled, "I guess you don’t believe what he’s saying but it really is true, Vincent. Your wife, happens to be mine and Erica’s sister." 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

"Are you saying you kidnapped your own daughter and let her go five years later? Then you find out after another ten years that she’s your daughter and want to kidnap her again?" Ethan raised his brow.

"I want to bring her back to her family where she will be loved and appreciated. And not stay with you people from the upper echelon where you use her and—"

"Hold on, you say Shikera is your daughter. Since she is the Eleanor you abducted as a kid, isn’t her mother supposed to be your ex girlfriend who left you to marry a member of the Mega families?"

"She married him while pregnant with my daughter. Liam Anderson got information about that but since he knew how much danger a Mega youngster was usually exposed to, he decided to take her as his daughter, while hiding his real daughter with his real wife. Natasha and Eleanor were used!" Jordan punctuated his words with a loud slam of his hands against the table.

He continued, "Natasha was paraded as his wife while Eleanor was, as his daughter. That asshole Liam Anderson used them as a shield for his wife and daughter and now that he’s sick, he brought them back but still wants to hold on to my daughter. I won’t accept that."

"Where is Shikera now?" Ethan asked. All Jordan has been saying since they started this discussion was all pointing at one single thing. And it meant that Jordan already had Shikera with him, or his aim was to get Shikera. Either way, Ethan didn’t care. His own wife was not leaving him.

"Is that the only reason you are here? For your wife and not to ask me to stop the attack against the Mega families?" Jordan evaded Ethan’s question to ask his own. He could not be more confused when Ethan laughed at loud in reply.

"You thought The Jordans have the ability to bring the Mega families down? Of course, I know you can bring down one of the families on your own but all? Quit dreaming, Jordan, and tell me if my wife is here?" Ethan demanded.

"We haven’t found her," Victor replied, "For now."

Ethan nodded, "Then keep searching, and inform me immediately you find her. I’ll be back in a week."

He turned to stare straight at Jordan, before saying,"Keep your men away from me, except you want them to meet their end. I’m trying my fucking best to protect you as an ex family here."

With that, Ethan rose to his feet and walked towards the door. With his hand on the doorknob, he paused and turned, "You should quit pretending that you love your ex if you can’t even remember her name. Natalia is not the same as Natasha."

"I called you here only because Esther was adamant on seeing you. Don’t stare at me with those eyes," Raymond stated. He pulled the door open wide enough for Cyprian to step in, before locking it after.

"She’s upstairs with Ruth," he informed.

Cyprian watched silently as he walked away from her, her tongue short of words to say. Raymond had called her an hour ago to tell her Esther was making a tantrum and asking to see her. They all concluded that this was happening since Esther knew Cyprian was the closest to her mother and the one who always entertained her numerous questions on where Shikera was and what she was doing. Since Cyprian also seemed to have incredible child caring skill, they were more than happy to contact her but only hesitated to reach her because of Raymond.

However, Esther had continued and even refused to eat, insisting that she would stop being a good girl if Cyprian was not brought to her so Raymond had to give in. He called Cyprian and much to his surprise, she agreed to come over without even hearing the reason.

"Ray..." Cyprian called, her voice coming out breathy and exhausted.

Raymond who was already at the foot of the stairs and preparing to climb up, halted in his footsteps.

"Did you call me?"

"Uh...yeah, I just wanted to ask how it went today? Was Team leader able to remind Mrs Natalia of the shares?" Cyprian asked. Of course that was not the reason she called Raymond, but her courage had dissapeared immediately he turned to face her.

"There was nothing to remind her of. Apparently, that woman isn’t Natalia Anderson but Natasha Anderson, Natalia’s twin," Raymond replied.

"What?!" Cyprian lost all her shyness and hurried over to stand in front of Raymond. "What did you just say? If that woman is a Natasha and not a Natalia, then where is the Natalia and...fuck! This is all so confusing. How did you understand?"

Her words flew out of Raymond’s ears the same way they came in, and the only one that dwelt long enough in his mind for him to understand, was her last question.

’How did you understand?’

He sighed, "The same way I understood when your brothers told me you miscarried my baby. Rian, why do you always chose the cruelest way to punish me? You should have stayed away from me and stopped this right from the moment we met again, instead of letting our relationship bloom to this moment and then letting it squash!"
