The Faceless Billionaire Celebrity Wife-Chapter 220: Paradise.
"Okay, back to our earlier discussion. Do you think it matters that you behaved yourself when mommy was here? Of course not. How you behave when your mommy isn’t here is what matters."
Esther frowned, "Isn’t that a waste if I’m good when mummy isn’t home? She can’t see me then."
"That’s true. She can’t see you," Cyprian agreed with her, "But when she hears how her baby behaved well at home, she would be eager to come back. Don’t you think?"
"That’s true! So you think I should behave like a very good girl from this moment on and then mommy will come back earlier?" Esther asked, earnestly gazing at Cyprian.
"Exactly! You wanna start now with eating breakfast?"
"Yeah," Esther replied.
With a bright and approving smile which looked like they were plastered on her lips, Cyprian carried Esther’s breakfast tray and dropped it on a stool beside the couch, while the latter went to take her seat on the couch.
Before she could restrain herself, Cyprian had already picked up the spoon and was preparing to feed Esther, who had a surprised look on her face.
"I’m not a baby, you know? I can eat by myself," she stated.
"I know that. But...I love babies and kids in general, so let me feed you just this once, huh?" Cyprian pleaded.
"Okay..."
Esther’s reply went unheard by Raymond whose hands left the doorknob, as he turned away from the room and headed down the stairs.

The sea was quiet, and a pin could not have dropped unheard in the streets on the island on that particular morning. The atmosphere was extraordinarily silent and without noise, except for the house at the beginning of the street.
Grandma Cooper’s house.
"Jeez...Kera, you know I leave home early, right? Why don’t you let me take my bath first?" Mignon pleaded to the usually cooperative Shikera, who was being unusually bratty today.
"I don’t want to. I need to take my bath too and uhm...I have to head somewhere too," Shikera refused firmly.
Mignon sighed, determined to end this argument that had been going back and forth since the both of them arrived at the bathroom’s door.
"We both know you don’t have anywhere to go today, Kera. Grandma is not fishing today and you don’t have to follow her so please..."
"I said I don’t want to!" Shikera yelled back, feeling tears well up at the bottom of her eyelids. She knew she was not supposed to be arguing or even tearing up, but she could not help it. She just wanted to have her way with something...for once.
"You don’t want to? Alright, name your price, Kera. I will make sure to give you as long as it’s within my power but please, let me be the first to take my bath, huh?"
"I said I don’t want to!" Shikera cried out, finally breaking down in tears.
Mignon was startled as she was very sure she didn’t touch Shikera just now. So why...?
But Grandma Cooper wasn’t ready to hear that as she rushed out of her room with a broom in hand, a fierce gaze in her eyes.
"What did you do to your sister, Leah?!" She yelled, amidst Shikera’s cries which was now increasing in volume.
"Grandma, I didn’t do anything to her. You can ask Kera herself. I...I was only asking her to let me be the first to bath and she refused then she started crying. I really didn’t do anything," Mignon defended herself hurriedly.
"That’s it!" Grandma Cooper’s voice didn’t reduce in volume. "That’s my point exactly! Why did you have to ask her to let you bath first? You could have allowed her to do whatever she wanted."
Mignon raised her brows in confusion. Was she the only sane person in the room at this moment? Why did it seem like Grandma Cooper’s sense of judgement was distorted? Before Mignon was allowed to think much, Grandma Cooper turned to Shikera, "Stop crying, Kera. What do you want from Leah as apology? I’ll make sure she does it."
"I..." Shikera sniffed, "I...mi—miss..."
The rest of her words were inaudible and therefore went unheard by both Mignon and Grandma Cooper.
Eager to shift the blame away from herself, Mignon asked,"You miss your husband?"
Shikera shook her head, surprising both Mignon and Grandma Cooper with her answer.
"What do you miss then?" Mignon asked again.
"The stairs...I want to climb the stairs at home again..." Shikera cried.
A collective sigh of exhaustion was released by Mignon and Grandma Cooper at the same time, as they turned to share knowing glances with each other.
Three hours later, Shikera heaved and huffed as she climbed the steep steps leading up an hill, with Mignon beside her.
"This steps leads to one of my most treasured hidden paradise so consider yourself lucky you would be able to get there," Mignon whispered, as if anyone would be able to hear them even though they were far from the group of houses on the island presently.
"Thanks for bringing me here," Shikera appreciated.
Mignon looked startled for a moment. Was this the same person who was throwing a tantrum a few hours ago?
"Thanks for coming with me too. You know...most of them on this have never appreciated the fact that I take it upon myself to find these paradises on earth, so I ended up keeping all my best spots to myself since there is no one to show it to. But now that you are here, as long as you’re willing of course, I can take you to every single one of them. What do you say?"
Shikera smiled widely,"Wow, that sounds like an adventure! Take me to your best spot first then."
Mignon nodded, agreeing with her request and in another thirty minutes, they had arrived at the place.
One look at the scenery sent Shikera blushing immediately, for it looked like that beautiful place in the woods when she and Ethan had sex in the car. It looked like her body was reliving her feelings from that moment, and she felt chills run down her spine.
"Hey! What do you think about this place?" Mignon’s voice snapped her out of her reverie and her eyes swept around the place.
It was a lake with crystal clear water which rushed down from a waterfall just above it. The water from the lake wasn’t stagnant, but instead flowed through a cluster of medium sized rocks, into the ocean. The lake was surrounded by rocks on which one could sit down and relax, or as Shikera and Mignon were doing now, stand on.
White flowers which Shikera did not know what their names were, scattered around the area, enhancing the paradise look which the area had, while the sea gulls cawing high up in the air added the last finishing touch of nature. All in all, everything was perfect.
"Woah...how did you find this place when it was this hidden?" Shikera exclaimed.
"Uhm...that is a secret," Mignon replied.
Shikera turned to examine her face with a mischievous smile, "Now I want to know what it is. If you don’t tell me what it is, i will complain to Grandma Cooper that you bullied me. Are you gonna tell me or not?"
Mignon chuckled. "I guess I must have been a troublesome younger sister in my past life to be punished with having you as my sister in this life. Alright, I’ll tell you but you must keep it to yourself and yourself only. You up for it?" she asked.
Shikera nodded eagerly.
Mignon sighed."I guess Grandma must have told you some things about me so you won’t be confused with what I’m about to tell you. The thing is...I actually feel like I have a family out there waiting for me."
"A family?" Shikera didn’t know when she blurted that out.
Mignon smiled,"You are shocked, right? But here’s the real shocker, I think I have a child too."
Shikera’s eyes widened and her jaws slacked. What’s this? Was Mignon aware of her real identity and still feigning memory loss? Or was it just a feeling as she said?
Mignon continued, "It’s alright to be startled, but like I said, it’s just a feeling. Now to the main question of how I find these wonderful spots, it happens whenever I think of how this my imaginary family and child looks like. I try to imagine how their faces would be, what beautiful names they would have, and how they have been feeling for this past few years that I’ve been missing and boom! When I come back to my senses, I find myself in a beautiful place."
"What?!" Shikera was already shocked by what she said about her feeling of having a family, but this one about meeting herself in a beautiful place when she came back to herself seemed too good to be true.
"Yes, it’s true. The only problem I do face is finding my way back home, and that’s why I come home late most of the time."
