The Extra Seeks Chaos-Chapter 178: I’m tired
Both Arin and Leon walked out of the lady’s office with slight frowns on their faces.
Though they had successfully avoided being expelled, the threat was still there.
And the craziest thing was that their so-called offense didn’t even require such harsh punishment, but there was nothing they could do about it.
As they exited the building, they both discussed.
"What do you think?" Leon asked.
"Hm, there’s a lot of strange things in this," Arin said. "I don’t believe that she calling both of us at the same time was a coincidence."
"I agree," Leon said. "Moreover, we’re the only ones with hidden Energies, so I don’t think calling both of us at the same time was a coincidence."
Leon looked around as if checking if anyone was watching them before leaning towards Arin and whispering, "Do you think she knows that you’re a Vampire and I’m a Shadow?"
Arin closed his eyes for a second. "Who knows?"
His response was short, but he was also wondering the same thing.
There was a probability that she actually knew.
In a few minutes, they were already standing not too far from the main Academy building.
"I don’t even know if I should go into that class anymore... Maybe I should wait till the King leaves?"
"But won’t that be suspicious?" Leon chimed in.
He had a point.
Arin sighed. "Before I forget, I hope you know that we’ll have to lay low. After all, we’re on the verge of getting expelled."
"I have a feeling that we’ll be observed till the tournament begins," Arin added. "That means we might not meet in the forest for now till the tournament begins."
Leon nodded. "I understand. I’ll let Tessa know."
"And don’t worry, I know how to tell her without giving too much information," he added.
Arin nodded his head. He knew that Leon wouldn’t blow his cover, so that was settled for now.
Though, as they were about to decide whether to enter the building or not, Hector and a few other students walked out of the main Academy building while discussing.

Arin furrowed his brows, murmuring, "What is going on?"
He and Leon began walking towards them.
"Hey, Hector," Arin called out.
Hector turned before waving and walking towards Arin.
"Hey, Arin. Who was that lady?" he instantly asked.
Arin just shrugged. "She seems to be a staff member of this Academy, nothing serious."
Before Hector could ask any other question, Arin instantly spoke.
"What are you guys doing outside? Isn’t the King still inside?" Arin asked.
While he was asking this question, he noticed that more students were coming out of the building.
Hector raised a brow. "Oh, the King left for the Hall a few minutes ago. He told everyone to come to the Hall."
Arin glanced around, noticing that all the students were heading towards a particular location with hastened steps.
"I see..." Arin muttered as he and Leon followed Hector, heading towards the Hall.
’What does this mean?’ Arin thought.
He clearly knew what this meant, but it just felt kinda unbelievable. He didn’t want to conclude yet, if not, he might jinx it.
Finally, they arrived at the Hall and entered inside.
All the teachers in this Academy, including Riya, were standing at the back of the raised platform.
Both Principal Orion and the King were nowhere to be found, meaning that they had not yet arrived.
In a few minutes, all the first-year students were already inside the Hall.
No one even attempted to make noise, not only because the teachers were present, but also because the King could just enter at any time, and they remembered what Orion told them this morning.
After a few more seconds, Orion and Rowan entered the Hall, making all the teachers and students lower their heads.
Arin looked at the platform, his eyes darting around. ’That lady isn’t here....’
Leon also seemed to notice it because he also looked around and glanced at Arin as if telling him that the lady wasn’t here.
This further increased their suspicion, but ignoring it for now, they focused on the King.
As far as he had not left the Academy yet, they were still not safe.
Rowan glanced at the students before he began.
"Finally, I have quenched my doubts about this Academy," he said. "There is no Vampire hidden in this Academy."
"Though," he continued, "my Royal Guards are still carrying out the same activity everywhere in this Kingdom."
"I’ll make sure to check every nook and cranny to make sure that there is no Vampire living among us humans in this Kingdom."
Suddenly, his eyes glowed as he exuded a light wave of aura, making the students gasp and look at him in astonishment.
"I, Rowan Ainsley, the King of Ainsley Kingdom, will make sure this Kingdom is safe for its citizens!"
Instinctively, all the students and teachers began clapping, their eyes wide in admiration.
Tessa scoffed. ’Talk about a flashy outro.’
A few minutes later, the King concluded his speech after thanking all the students and teachers for their cooperation.
Though, Arin kept wondering...
’He didn’t even bother to send for me and Leon to screen us.’
’Did he forget?’
"Something is definitely wrong," Seraphine said. "And it’s strange how the lady also sent for you and Leon when it was almost time for him to screen the both of you."
"And when she finally released the both of you, the screening had already ended," she added.
Arin massaged his temples as he walked out of the Hall together with the other students.
"I’m genuinely tired..." he murmured.
In reality, he wasn’t tired. He was just confused and angry.
At least, Rowan had finally left the Academy.
It was now time for Day 2 of the competition.
In the same open training space, all the first-year students were gathered, waiting for Orion to signal the start of the tournament.
"Alright, students," he began, "welcome to Day 2 of this competition to choose the students who will represent this Academy in the tournament."
"Without further ado, let’s start!" he announced.
The students all cheered as a female teacher stepped into the middle of the circle that the students formed and instantly called the name of the first two students who would fight.
In a few seconds, the fight began.
Hector nudged Arin before speaking. "I think Principal Orion would have said that we are actually fighting for two spots."
Arin had a feeling that he knew what Hector was talking about, but he still acted clueless anyway.
"Huh?" he muttered.
Hector folded his arms as he explained. "I mean, Alex has taken the first spot already, leaving three spots remaining."
"But don’t you think the second spot has also been taken by Tessa?"
’Just like I thought,’ Arin thought.
"Hmm, that’s true," he said. "She’s really strong. I believe she already has a spot."
"Exactly," Hector said. "Except Principal Orion believes that there are some students here apart from Alex who can win against her."
Arin shrugged as he focused on the battle.
At one point, Hector’s name was called, and he won using his Water Element Spells.
Finally, after a few more fights...
"Arin Vale vs. Cin Bluesky."
Arin stepped out, along with another boy.
Arin was handed a wooden sword while the boy was handed a wooden spear.
Arin could hear Hector and Lina cheering for him, and from the corner of his eyes, he also saw Tessa cheering for him.
He instantly focused on the boy in front of him.
"START!"
Without wasting time, the boy rushed towards Arin with his spear outstretched.
Ice shards formed behind the boy, and Ice also enveloped his spear.
WHOOSH!
The Ice shards rushed towards Arin with great speed, slicing through the air.
Arin instantly summoned a Water Shield on his left hand, using it to deflect the shards.
He dashed forward in a zigzag manner, making sure to control his speed so that it wouldn’t be surprising and wouldn’t stand out.
The boy had almost reached Arin, but before he could attack, Arin suddenly stretched out his hand, making a Water Bubble form around the boy.
Orion raised a brow. ’Hm, what a unique way of using the Water Bubble Spell.’
Arin instantly clenched his fist, making the Water Bubble start reducing in size, threatening to compress the boy inside it.
But then...
BOOM!
The boy suddenly formed a large boulder made of Ice inside the Bubble, destroying the Water Bubble.
But Arin had already lunged forward, his sword ready to strike.
The boy stretched out his spear, trying to intercept Arin, but Arin ducked under the spear and moved his sword towards the boy’s neck with speed.
"Winner, Arin Vale!"
The boy didn’t even need to surrender. It was obvious that he was overwhelmed and there was nothing he could do again.
If it was a real fight, he would’ve already been dead by now.
’Once again, I’m tired...’
