The Ex-Wife's Revenge: Rise of the Real Heiress.-Chapter 197: Successful Marriage
Heather drove his car as fast as he could, trying to catch the woman’s car.
He blared his horn repetitively to get other cars out of the way.
He must stop this mishap from happening. They had the same blood running in their veins. Even thinking about the blunder made his heart clench painfully.
He dialled Andrew’s number to tell him the truth, just in case he wouldn’t be able to reach the registrar’s office in time.
It rang a few times before it went unanswered. Heather gritted his teeth and tried to call Andrew again, but when he couldn’t reach him he suppressed the urge to throw his phone in anger.
Wait. He should call his family. At least they’ll stop it. Heather nodded to himself and was about to call when his phone slipped from his hands.
"Fucking shit!" He cursed out loud before bending to grab his phone.
He moved his hand around a bit until he found it. He was about to pull it out when he heard a loud horn blaring, and his eyes widened.
Crash!
The loud sound of tires screeching echoed in the area. Heather’s car tumbled a few circles before it stopped when it hit the large tree.
Windows shattered, the glass pieces piercing straight through his skin. The bent metal crushed him under the weight, and he gasped for breath.
His vision blurred, almost seeing red as blood got into his eyes.
"H-help," Heather breathed out when he saw someone walking towards his car.
"H-help me," Heather said, taking shallow breaths, barely keeping his consciousness intact.
"Help you? Should I really?" Heather heard a familiar voice and tried to focus on the man before him.
"Thames?" He asked.
Thames looked at the man with a smirk on his face as he bent to see how beautiful his art looked.
"One and only. You didn’t disappoint me. Even in your last breath, you didn’t forget your arch enemy," Thames smiled wickedly before he moved his hand through his hair with a chuckle.
"It took me so long to finally orchestrate the perfect accident, right when the Lloyds are on the verge of destruction. A sister marrying her own brother. This is going to be the news of the century," Thames said.
Heather’s senses were stopping one by one, but he still heard what the man said, and to say he was surprised and beyond shocked would be an understatement.
"You knew Beatrice was adopted, no? All this time, you guys let me into your place, thinking I was there with a humble attitude, not even realizing I was slowly planning your destruction. Did you know she was my real niece? I planted her in your company, near your son to destroy you, and now that dream is finally coming true," Thames asked.
Heather blinked furiously to shoo away the blood from his eyes to look at the man clearly, to look at the monster clearly who knew the truth all this time and still was forcing his niece to marry Andrew, even after knowing they were blood related.
"H-how could you? She is your sister’s daughter," Heather asked, his heartbeats slowing.
Thames pouted his lips before standing and looking around.
"Help! Someone help. There’s an accident!" Thames shouted to gather the passerby’s attention before he bent to look at Heather again.
"You ask me how? Well, I was pretty much angry at Whitney for going behind my back and sleeping with the same man who was the reason why I was sent abroad, my archenemy. She destroyed our family with her one-night stand, and her daughter shall pay for her sins," Thames grinned, his evilness dripping from his smile.
"Of course, Beatrice doesn’t know the truth. But honestly, I hardly think she would give up on the idea of marrying your son. She is madly obsessed with Andrew," he said before he backed away when people started to gather.
"Please help me take this man out before the car blasts. We need to help him reach the hospital," Thames said, and everyone who gathered nodded.
They started helping Heather out of the car, and the man, who had heard what was happening, finally closed his eyes, unable to do anything to stop his family from this blunder that would ruin them completely.
The only thing he was left with was regret. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
At the same time, Andrew, who got ready for the wedding ceremony because his grandfather said he would disown him if he didn’t, looked at the mirror with nothing but disgust.
He has once gotten ready similarly, for Elara. He only married her with a neutral expression because of his grandfather. It was funny how the tables turned.
He didn’t want to marry Elara, but did because of her love and his grandfather. He was in love with Beatrice at that time. Or that’s what he thought.
Now, once again, he was in the same position, this time marrying Beatrice, whom he used to love, but now he was madly in love with Elara instead.
He closed his eyes to calm his raging emotions as he felt nothing less than a puppet in his family’s hands.
"Sir, why didn’t you pick up your father’s call?" Jason, who had heard the phone ring earlier but didn’t want to engage his boss anymore, asked after some time, and Andrew scoffed.
"And what could I have really done after pickingup his call? What would he have said? He would’ve just asked me to listen to my grandfather because that’s the right thing to do. After all, that’s what I should do for the inheritance," Andrew looked at his reflection again and loosened his tie, enraged.
"Let’s go. I want this drama to end one for all. I will live my life thinking this is what I deserve after hurting Elara. A successful marriage isn’t for me. I could ignore a woman like Elara and her goodwill for three years, then I would be able to ignore Beatrice even more easily," he said before he turned and nodded at his secretary.
They drove straight to the registrar’s office.
"Is she not here yet?" Andrew asked Jason.
"She should be here anytime soon," Jason said.
It wasn’t long before he saw the woman step out of the nearby hotel, dressed in a white gown, and Andrew’s face twisted.
"She was really going all out for it," he scoffed.
Beatrice, who barely managed to do a little makeup and slip into the wedding gown after meeting her mother, panted lightly when she reached the registrar’s office.
"I am sorry I am late," she said with a smile, which faltered as she noticed Andrew looking at her gown in disgust.
"I... I just wanted to—" Beatrice opened her mouth to explain, but Andrew turned around and went inside the office without saying a word.
Beatrice stood there, froze, and before she took a deep breath, forcefully stretched her lips into a smile.
The man was probably angry because of the Paradise project. There was nothing wrong with it. Anyone would be angry. Everything would go alright after some time.
Beatrice coaxed herself before she walked into the registrar’s office.
Sophia and Carla arrived right after them as the witnesses.
Beatrice looked behind her and seeing how there was no one from her side, something that was painfully evident, she sighed before walking forward and bowing to Sophia and Carla in respect.
"Don’t bow. Good. Good. You got into a white gown for the wedding. I was thinking of something like this, but the time was so little, and I was busy with preparations that I couldn’t take you shopping," Sophia said.
Beatrice knew that was a straight-up lie only someone like Elara would believe and cater to, but she didn’t want to upset Sophia.
"It’s okay, Aunty Sophia," Beatrice smiled.
"Oh, come on. Quit calling me Aunty now. I am going to be your mom from now on," Sophia said.
Andrew stood at the side, watching his mom and sister appraise Beatrice, and couldn’t help but notice the stark difference in how they treated Elara.
He always thought that they were like that with everyone else because that’s how he always saw them acting. But it looks like they knew how to be respectful and happy, too.
That behaviour was reserved for Elara only because they thought she was from a poor background.
The fact that the woman suffered so much because of him made him scoff at the play of HappHomeme before him.
"I don’t have all day for this nonsense," He interrupted their chatter, and Beatrice nearly shuddered at the hatred in his voice.
It would definitely be hard to make him realise his love for her. Beatrice thinned her lips.
They walked to the registrar and signed their names on the documents before Sophia, Carla, and Jason signed as the wedding witnesses.
"You are now husband and wife," The registrar said before a photo was clicked.
Beatrice grabbed Andrew’s elbow and smiled happily while the man maintained his neutral expression.
At the same time, Elara, who got the news of Andrew getting married to Beatrice as soon as she entered her apartment with Daniel, smirked.
"What are you smiling about?" Daniel asked, hugging her from behind.
"My problem is finally someone else’s problem," Elara grinned while the man grumbled because his wounds still didn’t allow her to pick her up like he wanted.
Seeing him acting like a child, Elara chuckled before she pecked his lips and walked straight to the kitchen to make something healthy for him.
It looked like life was finally getting good for them.
