Chapter 201: [201] Elven Lord’s Rage

Eliron’s threat caused a stir amongst the mages. After witnessing him use an SSS rank spell without even uttering a single chant, most of the lower ranked mages were jittery.

But although they wanted to leave, the presence of their proud, unshaking seniors caused them to stay put.

"Kill all of us? How bold of him to make such a threat." A first class mage shook his head.

"But... that spell he used just now..." the junior mage beside him stuttered.

"It could be anything, certainly not disintegration though. That spell is far above his level."

"To kill all 100 mages, he will have to possess skills on par with the seven titans." He paused and glanced at the man who was observing everything from above.

"Don’t be afraid, kid, the grand mage is here, remember?"

And it was not just any grand mage, it was Azarath, the Immortal Scourge. No one was getting past him.

Back on the arena stage, Tiberius suddenly stumbled back and laughed.

"Kill every one of them?? Do you even know where you are—"

Eliron raised a hand to silence him. He had heard enough of his irksome voice. "Don’t waste my time..."

"Very well!" Tiberius’ mana poured out of his core in waves, completely covering his body in a thick coat, just before flowing onto his staff.

"If you want to die like a dog, then I’ll grant you your wish!"

"S-Rank Spell!"

"Summon Diamond Golem!"

He slammed his staff into the ground, sending his mana rushing into it. A small piece of crystal pushed the staff up a bit, and then—

Vwooosh!

The earth suddenly rumbled, the ground splitting open as a colossal golem tore through it.

Its body was crystalline, entirely made of magical diamond, and the singular eye in the center of its head was glowing a vibrant blue light. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

Several spikes jutted out of its back in a spherical pattern, each of them two meters long.

The diamond golem rose so high that it crashed into the dome above them, the magic barrier shattering on impact.

From what Eliron could tell, it was several times more powerful than the iron golem.

"Go on, crush him into paste!"

The golem took a step forward, the ground rumbling underneath its fist. It drew its arm back, and the spikes on its back began to glow, charging its spiked fist with mana.

"This is my ultimate spell, my magnum opus!" Tiberius yelled, looking completely drained. It seemed he had drawn out every ounce of his mana for this final spell.

"How will you defend against this, laggard?!"

Eliron smiled. "Since we are summoning, let me introduce you to one of my pets."

He slashed his finger down, and a portal seemingly tore through reality, an endless void of black with stars glittering within it.

[SSS-Ranked Summon. Lightning Herald.]

Vwooosh!

A heavy gale of wind cut through the portal, sending dust billowing forward. Two inhuman hands, made out of pure, condensed lightning, grabbed the two lips of the portal, ripping it open.

And the fiend stepped out.

The summon had a humanoid shape, but in a horrid, demonic kind of way. The lightning coursing around its body was as black as obsidian, a few red streaks intertwined with it.

Two sharp horns rose from its skull, pointing backward, and its eyes were wrapped up in a black cloth that was fluttering despite being indoors.

Just by being present, the sound of a raging storm filled the room, blanketing every single sound in the area.

The mages that had been proudly sitting earlier rose up in panic, most of them attempting to flee the room.

But as they charged towards the exit, they were met with a force field that forced them back.

"Shit, shit—!" One of them, a first class mage, cursed, his back pressed against the wall. "T-that... that is a calamity grade summon!"

The junior mage next to him looked on the verge of melting. The aura the fiend was exuding practically paralysing all the younger mages.

The lightning herald turned to regard Eliron, its hands clasped together as though in a prayer.

’I know you not.’ He spoke directly into Eliron’s head.

Of course he did not, the spell belonged to a different mage from the lost era, a man sparsely mentioned in the novel.

’But as my master, I will do as you request.’ The herald bowed, stunning all present.

A summon of legend bowing to a wood elf, the laggards of the magic world. Now that was a sight to see.

Eliron pointed at the golem. "Take care of that pile of rubbish."

’As you wish.’

VWOOSH!

The diamond golem swung its fully charged fist at the herald’s face. But just as the fist approached it, it burned up before it could even come close to its body.

The diamond golem’s eyes widened as it drew its burned arm back. It didn’t feel pain, but it was cautious.

’Cursed be your existence.’

The words rang in the heads of everyone in the area. Some mages clasped their hands around their ears, tears rolling down their eyes as they prayed to their diverse gods.

Some passed out, while the tougher mages trembled in utter stupefaction.

Outside the tower, ashen clouds began to brew, lightning dancing through the clouds.

With a single swing of the herald’s finger, a thin, concentrated beam of lightning suddenly tore right through one of the windows, finding the golem and splitting it in half.

And then—

BANG!

Black lightning erupted from the thin stream, completely swallowing the entire golem whole.

All the windows in the room shattered, the tower shook, and Tiberius was blown back by the impact of the attack.

If the herald had not restrained the force, then all that would have been left of him was a mush of bones and charred flesh.

"Th—this is not a spell m-men should command." The high elf stared at the herald, crippled by fear.

"Perhaps I have transcended." Eliron’s voice came from his back, causing him to flinch and crawl backwards.

Eliron held his leg and smiled. "Or perhaps, it is just you who is weak beyond all reason."

Tears began to form in Tiberius’ eyes as he struggled, trying to break free.

"I am from Xyrelis! My master will come for you if you kill me! He’ll burn down your village!" He screamed, his eyes bloodshot.

Eliron shrugged. "I’ll be waiting for him."

"Azarath, help me—AHHHHH!!!!"

Black fire slipped out of Eliron’s hands, Tiberius screaming as it burned into his veins, igniting his nerves, just before his head erupted in flames.

Eliron dusted his hands, then stood up.

"Alright, it looks like it’s your turn. Done charging that spell yet?" He raised his gaze up and smiled.

"Haha. Quite perceptive, aren’t you?"

The grand mage, Azarath, was floating above the stage, his hand raised above his head. In his hands was a large ball surging with calamitous energy.

"Now that the child is out of the way, how about we dance, Vampire?" Eliron summoned his magic staff.

The grand mage’s eyes narrowed and then he smiled, revealing his elongated fangs.

"Gladly."

He casually launched his spell at Eliron, the air simmering as it came down.

’Master, shall I handle it?’ the herald asked in his head.

Eliron walked forward. "Nope, I’m good. Just make sure no one leaves this room..."

His eyes suddenly glinted and the energy ball froze right before his face.

[SSSR Skill—Time Stop]

"You bastard!" The grand mage’s grin widened. "Just how many SSS spells do you possess?!"

Eliron smirked. "Just a few..."

He blinked, appearing behind the grand mage. "Shall we take this outside?"

Before Azarath could answer, a portal suddenly swallowed them whole, teleporting them a thousand metres into the skies...
