Blood Queen Reborn-Chapter 37: Erin’s Ability Number
While Erin was in the bathroom with Layla, she had drunk her roommate’s blood for healing purposes. No other reason. While she was there, Layla also took out a few vials of blood.
"Here, I managed to collect all of these blood types from volunteering at Hayley’s place," Layla noted, then sighed, "I feel bad for her. She was too busy to even notice."
After downing the vials, Erin’s stats began to improve.
[Blood type A has been absorbed]
[+ 3 strength point has been added]
[Blood type B has been absorbed]
[+ 2 Agility point has been added]
[Blood type Ab+ has been absorbed]
[+ 4 Stamina point has been added]
[You have reached the maximum amount of stat points in strength, agility, stamina]
[To proceed further you must evolve]
[Blood type O has been absorbed]
[You have gained +4 free stat point]
’Evolve?’ Erin thought, ’Layla did mention that I was likely to become a full vampire.’
The thing that bothered Erin, however, was that she wasted some good stat points in the blood collection. If there weren’t a limit, then who knows how high her stats would be now.
Since she couldn’t do anything about the free stat points for the time being, she left them alone.

Once Erin, and Layla left the bathroom, the others all gathered together on the benches, taking turns drinking from the water fountain. After some intense sparring, most of them were quite tired.
Once Peter had his drink of water, he noticed something on Quinn’s watch.
"Woah, Quinn, how did you get your ability to level 2?" Peter pointed out.
Quinn glanced down at the watch, then back at Peter, "I don’t know, I just had a breakthrough understanding the earth ability."
"Really?" Peter was shocked.
"Yeah, maybe I could teach you how to improve your ability. It could be helpful for the green portal expedition soon," Quinn replied.
"Sure, that sounds like a good ide—" Peter was in the middle of saying, when suddenly his watch started beeping.
"Who is it?" Layla said, trying to look at the watch, but Peter quickly covered it.
"Ah, it’s nothing. I just forgot I had plans with some of my friends after class today," Peter said.
He started to grab his things, but when he was on his way out, Quinn got up.
"Peter, if you need any help—"
"It’s fine, Quinn," Peter immediately replied, "You don’t have to worry about me."
Peter left the training center, leaving the other four to watch him go.
’How can I not worry when you’re acting like that,’ Quinn thought.
It was clearly suspicious, and Quinn wasn’t buying his lie.
Layla wiped some sweat off of her forehead, "I think I’ll head back to my dorm room. I’m feeling a little tired, and I could use a shower."
"Yeah, I’ll head out too," Fex added, "It was fun watching you all."
The others began to leave, but right before Fex did, he glanced over in Layla’s direction.
’Hmm... I wonder if she’s Erin’s personal blood bag,’ He thought, ’Nah, she definitely is. A halfling like her would need someone they can trust for a source of blood.’
This left Quinn and Erin alone in the room. Quinn was sitting, still thinking about Peter.
"I don’t think he’s okay," Quinn thought out loud.
"Who’s okay?" Erin replied.
"Peter."
"He said he’s fine, did he not?" Erin noted.
"That’s the thing, he was very adamant that he was fine, but if he was, he shouldn’t have to convince me," Quinn concluded, "I’ll go look for him."
"While you go do that, I’ll be in the VR room," Erin replied.
Erin picked up her personal sword, and the two went their separate ways, leaving the training center. While Quinn went to search for his roommate, there was a pressing concern in Erin’s mind.
She walked down the halls of the military school, passing by several students looking to prepare for the expedition. Through some of the windows, she could tell that the sun was setting, giving the world a golden hue light.
Despite the beautiful lighting, Erin’s face remained neutral, and internally, she was very alert.
At any moment, if her sleeves decided to ride up, or someone knowing her secret just randomly shouted it in the hallways, it could reveal to the whole school what level she truly was. A level 1 with no ability. At any moment, someone could ambush her again, but she just had to train to grow stronger since it was the only thing she could do. Where would she even go to find someone who could hack her watch? It couldn’t be any amateur hacker as the military would no doubt find signs of tampering.
Walking down the halls of the school, she listened around as she headed to the VR room. She turned a corner, about to enter her destination when she just narrowly managed to avoid bumping into someone. Erin wasn’t making that mistake again.
She tried to walk past the person, when suddenly, they grabbed her wrist and tried to pull her back towards them. It was the same wrist where her ability number was stated. Erin’s strength was beyond that of a normal person, so she was easily able to yank her arm back.
[Inspect]
[Pio Blank]
[Race: Human]
[HP: 17/17]
[Ability: Duplication]
[Quest: Defeat Pio Blank]
[Reward: 50 EXP]
The boy named Pio had medium length brown hair, with a bandana covering half of his head. At first, his face was a little scared, but when Erin tried to walk past him, the fact that his arm wasn’t frozen told him everything.
He drew out his crossbow and shot at Erin. She heard the click of his weapon, and was quickly able to dodge it. The arrow landed in a wall then disappeared.
She saw the look on the boy’s face. It was one that had realized an opportunity.
"It’s true! Your ability level, it’s—!" Pio tried to say before Erin slammed her hand over his mouth.
Not wasting another second, she thrusted the handle of her sword into his chest, causing him to fall onto his back. He turned around, only to see Erin kick his face.
[+50 EXP]
[155/400 EXP]
"You wanna say that again?" Erin spat out.
That was when she realized that there were a few students in the hallway all staring at her. Some thought that she didn’t use her ability because she didn’t need to, but the others had heard the rumors about her in the assembly hall. How she didn’t use her ice powers at all.
Erin walked away without giving an explanation. How could she? Books were meant to give people abilities, not take them away.
