Chapter 121: Tournament 2

"Well we have a winner! Damon Darkfell wins by the opponent’s forfeit!" Instructor Lee wildly announced.

Delilah’s gaze at me grew complicated, but there was a grudging acceptance in those eyes. The acceptance that I was better than her, at least when it came to combat strength.

The frames above us flickered once more as two images were enlarged and pushed forward.

The instructor waved both Delilah and I back to the stands.

"Bro, you were awesome." Dion gave me a thumbs up. I solemnly shook my head. "You got it all wrong, I’m not awesome, I’m super awesome." I said with a straight face.

"Uhhh... are you sure you’re okay?" Dion playfully poked my shoulder." While I chatted with Dion, the clownish instructor continued.

"For the next match, we have the myth, the legend, the omega prodigy, and the crown jewel of this generation, Alistair Von Drake!" The Instructor’s words hyped the crowd up.

"Opposing him, we have..... uhhh.... Ron Colton." Instructor Lee voiced as if unsure of who the student was.

A roar of laughter erupted from the first years, and most of the second years. I had to admit, I also chuckled, while Dion burst into a full blown laughter.

-----------------

**3rd pov**

Alistair jumped down from the stands, while the seemingly unremarkable dude name Ron Colton followed the stairs. Racing to the middle of the field, which Alistair reached first, instructor Lee bellowed. "Begin!"

The two instantly made distance between each other so as to prepare for what came next.

Alistair’s spear appeared in his hand, while a dagger appeared in Ron’s hand. He flickered and appeared before Ron, and performed a simple thrust, without using his techniques. But to his surprise, the guy called Ron managed to lower his dagger under the bladed weapon, making Alistair’s spear to skim off the dagger.

But Alistair didn’t stop, he sharply withdrew his spear, and then using the shaft, hit behind Ron’s knees, making the boy keel over, then spun his spear around and pointed the blade to Ron’s neck, effectively ending the fight within five seconds since it began, and without breaking a sweat.

"I surrender." The boy muttered, his face grim with acceptance. He already knew he had no chance against Alistair, but it still stung to be effortlessly finished like this.

Hearing Ron’s surrender, Alistair smiled, retrieve his spear from the boy’s neck. Then he extended his hand to the boy, proposing to help him get up. Ron looked hesitant for a bit, before holding onto Alistair’s hand and getting on his feet.

"We have another winner. Alistair Von Drake wins by opponent’s forfeit." Instructor Lee’s voice reverberated from above the stadium, before he waved both Alistair and Ron back to the stands.

The images above flickered once more as two images were enhanced and pushed forward.

"For our next match, we have the coldest princess in these halls, but ironically the one with the hottest personality, Rose Darkfell!" The instructor commented. "And opposing her we have, Rhea Drum."

The two combatants came down into the field without wasting any time. Rhea was just as tall as Rose, which was about 5’7, but unlike Rose’s jet black hair, and striking grey eyes, she processed a red and ash colored hair, coupled with a pair of heterochromatic eyes.

"Begin!"

Bang!

Rhea suddenly launched a glowing fist at Rose the instant the go ahead for battle was given.

The attack had been so sudden and unexpected since the spectators had thought they would at least give each other some distance before getting into it.

But unlike what Rhea expected, Rose wasn’t fazed, but instead dodged the blow with a quick step to the side.

Bang!

Rhea’s glowing fist hit the ground with a shattering sound. The earth beneath the fist cracked and cratered in spiderweb patterns.

Rhea turned almost simultaneously, and swung her glowing fist at Rose’s head, but Rose ducked, letting the power loaded fist fly over her head.

WHUM!

The sheer power behind the fist distorted the air, creating a vacuum pocket, that exploded soon afterwards.

Rose meanwhile spun, and landed a flying kick to Rhea’s head. Rhea’s body flew across the air, launching towards the edge of the field, after receiving the unexpected and devastatingly powerful kick.

Rose followed after her immediately, a furious stream of fire enveloping her fist. She arrived before Rhea’s still flying body, and swung her flaming fist downwards.

Bang!

A loud collision rang out once more as shockwaves spread across the vicinity. Rhea’s body could be seen catapulting towards the stands, and she didn’t stop until she hit the stands and made a human shaped dent, before slumping down towards the ground unconscious.

"And the Phoenix princess wins!" Instructor Lee yelled, before waving her back to the stands. At the same time, the frames above enlarged once again, and pushed two images forward, while Rhea got transported to the infirmary.

"In our next match, we have the shadow prodigy himself, Aric Tinubu." Instructor Lee announced. And opposing him is Kaya Sear."

The dark haired boy, conjured a shadow Raven and jumped into it’s back, letting it ferry him across the field. His opponent meanwhile was a starry eyed girl. Her iris was literally the shape of a silver star.

The moment she also got to the middle of the field, instructor Lee gave the go ahead for the match to begin.

Kaya’s eyes emitted a silvery blue glow as she raised her right hand and swept it at Aric forcefully. A strange energy spread from her figure as an invisible force shot towards the black haired boy with intensity.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

Dull thuds repeatedly echoed on the wall of shadows Aric raised around him to protect himself from whatever Kaya was doing, which he soon learnt was telekinetic force.

Fwwhwiii!

After the barrage of thuds ended, Aric dropped the shadow wall and charged forward, sending out a flurry of punches that were so swift, leaving the spectators to witness mutiple blurs.

But all repeatedly crashed against Kaya’s telekinetic walls. Though from the tension on her face, it seemed to drain her. Especially when Aric added shadow tendrils to his attacks, at which she slipped, when a shadow tendril managed to get hold of her leg.

Using the shadow tendril, Aric raised the girl up, and smashed her towards the ground, then again, and again, until she lost consciousness.

"Aric Tinubu wins!" Instructor Lee announced, waving Aric back to the stands, while a bright light enveloped Kaya, transporting her to the infirmary.

The next contestants were pushed forward.

"Next up, we have, Sasha Dursely, Vs Kai Turner."

Sasha, bow in hand, and quiver strapped to her back, displayed her athleticism and jumped down into the field from the stands much like Alistair did.

Her opponent on the other hand, slid down the wall using a particularly viscous liquid secreted from his skin.

Before Kai could even reach the middle of the field, Sasha had already began making strides away from there.

"Begin!" The clownish instructor yelled with a grin.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Three arrows moving at subsonic speeds, simultaneously tore through the air before the echoes of the Instructor’s words could fade away. Kai, the boy with the viscous fluid, froze as the three arrows came at him, one for his head, the other for his torso, and the last for his neck.

However, just as the arrows were mere millimeters away from his vital spots, Instructor Lee appeared before him and caught onto each arrow.

"Sasha Dursely wins!" The instructor waved the two back to the stands amidst the boos of the students.

"Next up, Levi Stormbreaker, Vs Kevin Trist."

CRAKAKAKA!

Flashing arcs of lightning enveloped Levi’s body as he leapt of the stands and towards the middle of the field in one massive leap. He descended with great speed, cracking the ground beneath his feet upon landing.

The other guy named Kevin meanwhile, ran to the middle of the field, as his body grew two more pairs of arms from his back. This was his ability, he could grow extra limbs. While it wasn’t as flashy as that of others, he still took great pride in it. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

"Begin!"

The moment the word left instructor Lee’s mouth, a thick beam of lightning erupted from Levi’s figure, and appeared before Kevin near instantly. Kevin who was too slow and could do nothing to dodge, could only bring all six arms in front of him to block it. Big mistake.

"Arrrrrrgh!" He yelled on top of his lungs as the lightning sent a huge current running through his body, while simultaneously charri g his flesh at the same time.

When the beam stopped, his six arms had gone black, and were smoking, but he wasn’t even given the chance to comprehend the pain, because the next moment, Levi appeared next to him, and knocked his head to the ground, rendering him unconscious.

"Levi Stormbreaker wins!" The instructor yelled. "I’m not the only one getting hyped up, am I?" He grinned.

After the field was clear once more, the frames above pushed two images forward, enlarging them.

"Fabian Ashton Vs Dion Williams."

"Like you always say, I’m cooked." Dion gulped turning to Damon.

"Don’t worry, you’ll be fine." Damon comforted.

"You think?" Dion asked.

"Nah, bro, you’re getting your ass kicked. But hey, if I get paired with him, I’ll avenge you." Damon grinned.

"Great, that gives me more than enough motivation." Dion smiled as he went down the stairs.
