The Devil Doctor's Spicy Love-Chapter 427: Where you truly belong (1)
It was like a torrent of emotions that escaped from Shi Ningkai all at once.
"I loved you but you left me for a man you barely knew. But you know what, Boss? I was still happy for you. As long as you were happy, that’s all that mattered to me," he clenched his jaw. "And I kept hoping that I would be able to forget you one day. Then that day came when I married my wife." 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Her eyes widened. Though she had kept in contact with him, she had never known that Shi Ningkai had gotten married. It was news for Xie Zi Han as well.
"She was a fine woman. We hung out together and we clicked. I slowly began to get over you and fell for her. We got married."
Then a chilled smile laced his lips. "But even she betrayed me like you did. She cheated on me with another man."
A heavy silence drew in the room.
"First, you trampled upon my feelings, then my wife did. You two just thought...that you could use me whenever you wanted and then dump me when my use was over?"
"I never treated you like some toy and you know it," Yang Bingqing said with a hint of frostiness.
"YOU DID!" He screamed, losing his temper. "You did and then my wife did! I thought I would be happy from now on. I thought I would build my life with her, but what I found was her embraced in some other man’s arms!"
He trembled, his jaw gnashing with hatred.
"Do you know what I did then, Boss?" He whispered his next question very slowly.
She said nothing.
He burst into a crazy laughter. "I killed her. I killed my wife."
Sharp gasps echoed from the crowd.
"But I didn’t just kill her. I was an assassin, remember? I had worked with the deadliest gang ever, so she deserved equally deadlier consequences. I tore up the very thing that made her a woman while she was alive."
Yang Bingqing’s lips faintly quivered and she closed her eyes. The moment he had asked that question, she knew where it was going because she remembered Ehuang, the young girl who had suffered by his hands. She remembered what happened to her, so she could guess what he would have done to his wife.
Yet a tiny place in her heart held hope that she wouldn’t come to hear it. But she did.
Even Jia, who had weathered through strong cases, couldn’t stomach Shi Ningkai’s cruelty. He was a doctor, whose role was supposed to be helping people in need, not use his skills to destroy them.
"What? Why are you all looking at me like I am some madman?" He laughed. "She deserved it, didn’t she? She didn’t think about my feelings when she betrayed my love and slept with some other man, so why should I have bothered with hers? How come women can do anything they want but shouldn’t be afraid of the consequences? I hated her from that moment. Every woman is the same...First Boss played with my feelings and then her."
Xie Zi Han grabbed his collar. "And that’s why you thought you could just revive She as if it was your playground! It’s a gang that Boss had made, damn it! Who gave you the fucking right to tarnish its name! Do you have any idea how many women’s lives you ruined because of that abhorrent cult! How many women suffered because of you!"
Shi Ningkai gave him a long, hard stare.
"You are the last person who should be lecturing me about suffering, Xie. If not for you, then Boss would have never even got to meet Yang Cheng."
"What the hell are you talking about?"
"Designing ignorance now?" His smile grew more and more menacing. "There was no reason for Boss to ever meet Yang Cheng. Oh.. or should I say, the real Xie-"
Suddenly, he felt a shadow loom over him and to everybody’s shock, Zhao Weizhe stepped forward.
"I have heard enough," he said in his low but crisp voice. "You not only broke your gang’s code, but several of the underworld laws as well. We were on your lookout for a long time."
Wei looked at his father and tilted his head, puzzled. It wasn’t like him to suddenly interfere in a mess unless...
Wei exchanged a glance with Mingshen and they had a tacit understanding that the guests had to leave for now. Which Hou Huan had wanted from the beginning anyway, so it came to her as a relief when the Zhao family themselves were intervening now.
Naturally, leaving the venue quite abruptly, especially when things were only getting juicier, made them quite upset but nobody dared to challenge Zhao Weizhe. The guests left one by one until only the involved parties remained.
Mulan heaved a sigh of relief. Her investors were among the guests and she couldn’t afford to lose them. The past of Xie Zi Han, her father, as a former gang member was troubling enough for her career prospects.
Shi Ningkai sneered at Zhao Weizhe. "Do you take me as a fool? Do you think I didn’t know why you sent the guests away? To protect your little secret you share with your buddy ’Yang Cheng’?"
His eyes narrowed.
"Right Dr. Yang?"
No, no, no! What is this idiot doing!? Mulan silently clenched her jaw, but she was in no position to stop him.
Yang Cheng froze.
"What was I saying before? Ah, yes. That Boss would have never come to meet you in the first place. She had no reason to if you hadn’t switched your identities with your college buddy here."
Xie Zi Han remained stumped. It was as if time had stopped and the entire world lay frozen.
Shi Ningkai held the hands that were gripping his collar and shook them off.
"So before you accuse me of fooling everyone, how about you two start with yourself? How Xie Zi Han is not Xie Zi Han and Yang Cheng is not Yang Cheng."
He sneered as his gaze fell upon Mingshen.
"Yes you heard it right. Your father is not the mighty Yang Cheng you are so proud of. You are not the real Yang family’s heir, Dr. Mingshen. Your father’s real name is Xie Zi Han and you are not any heir. You are the son of some poor and pathetic man who barely had the money to even complete his medical education."
