Mo Xue sighed as he also stood up and spoke, "Master, it is my duty to protect you. If you walk into fire, I’ll follow right after you."

Jie Fu Lian couldn’t help but chuckle as he heard this, "Mo Xue, I thought you were against the idea of me jumping into fire."

"It’s not my preferred option but I have come to realize that no matter what I think, I can never control you. I might as well just go along with your risky ideas."

Jie Fu Lian smiled as he heard this and nodded his head.

"That’s quite wise of you."

Jin Shifeng, who couldn’t talk thanks to the master of curses, looked at Jie Fu Lian’s actions and immediately joined him without any hesitation.

Yu Wei also sighed as she somehow picked herself up and ignored her exhaustion as she made up her mind to put up one last fight.

Duan Luoyang, who was still injured, wanted to join them, however, when he tried to stand up, he was pushed down by Shen Chao who frowned as he threatened, "You’re injured. You’ll only end up being a burden."

Duan Luoyang certainly did not feel happy when he heard this but he could not argue since he knew that Shen Chao was right.

With a sigh, Shen Chao activated a protection barrier around Duan Luoyang and Hua Meifang as he spoke, "This is a blood seal barrier. It will only break if I die. If that happens, make a new barrier, okay?"

Duan Luoyang gulped as he heard this but did not give an affirmative response. Instead, he spoke, "I trust you guys."

"Hmm?" 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

"I know you won’t die today."

Shen Chao softly smiled as he heard this but refrained from saying anything.

Together, Jie Fu Lian, Ren Lei, Mo Xue, Jin Shifeng, Yu Wei, and Shen Chao, used up their last bit of energy in order to attack the master of curses.

The master of curses was already quite busy with the fiends and Hua Tianshu, however, when these six people also joined in, the master of curses was forced to be at a disadvantage.

Jie Fu Lian used both the small shiny dagger and Changbo in order to attack the man. When the master of curses avoided the Changbo, he was almost caught by a whip that belonged to Jin Shifeng.

Ren Lei also didn’t hold anything back and kept attacking the man with everything she had. Mo Xue used his feathers that had turned into arrows and he sent at least a hundred arrows toward the master of curses, hoping that at least one of them would pierce through the man.

Yu Wei put on a mask that changed her appearance into the demon king and it not only changed her face but also gave her the powers of the demon king. Although she wasn’t exactly as powerful as the demon king, she was still powerful enough to be feared.

The master of curses looked to be extremely confused as he saw two demon kings, however, he didn’t have any time to worry about it since he was already busy blocking and evading all attacks.

Yu Wei didn’t do much. In fact, after changing her appearance, she took out something from her pocket and ate it. Afterward, she tried to blend in with the others and would attack a few times just to make sure that she wasn’t completely idle.

Nobody managed to notice this fact and hence nobody questioned it either. What she had eaten also remained to be a mystery.

"It’s over for you!" Hua Tianshu shouted as he attacked from above and when the master of curses avoided the blade by just a few inches, he was struck by Mo Xue’s arrow.

For a second there, Jie Fu Lian was sure he saw a look of disbelief flashing through the man’s face and that was proof that the man had not expected this turn of events.

Pushed to the extreme, the master of curses finally used a technique that he had refrained from using so far. It was a powerful technique, however, not one that did not come with consequences.

Everyone immediately stopped, however, their actions weren’t exactly voluntary. Their body had refused to listen to them and like puppets, they felt as if they were being controlled by another. Even the fiends had stopped and seemed to have calmed down.

"The ultimate curse of heavens," The master of curses spoke, revealing the technique, "From the deepest part of hell."

Jie Fu Lian could see everything and hear everything, however, no matter how much he tried, he simply could not move his body. Even a simple movement such as gulping his saliva became impossible for him and if truth be told, the experience was quite terrifying.

"This fight ends here and now," The master of curses spoke with a sigh, blood pouring out from his eyes, ears, mouth, and nose; The negative consequences of using the forbidden technique.

The master of curses laughed as he grabbed onto the demon king’s neck and pulled him up, "Jie Fu Lian, it is time for us to fulfill the prophecy. It’s a pity that a part of your soul was destroyed, but don’t worry. Even without that soul, I can still kill you and take this body."

The demon king didn’t show him a response and it was only natural that he didn’t since his body was being controlled by the master of curses.

Overjoyed that he was finally able to get what he wanted, the master of curses laughed like a maniac.

It felt too easy and he could hardly believe his eyes.

He laughed and laughed as his hand tightened around the demon king’s neck.

"It’s finally time!" He exclaimed proudly, "It’s finally time to take this body and become the most powerful man that has ever walked this martial world!"

"I’ll have both the heavens and earth fear me!"

"I’ll have them all beneath my feet."

"I’ll become the greatest!"

He quickly began chanting something as he took out a blade and pierced the demon king’s skin. He licked off the blood that trickled down from the wound and without any hesitance, gulped it down as if it were the tastiest drink that he had ever had.

He made another cut on the demon king’s skin and once again, started drinking the man’s blood from it.

He did the same a few more times and by the end, the demon king’s arm was full of cuts, looking as if it had been attacked by a beast.

The master of curses laughed with his bloodied mouth and used his own blood to make a seal on the demon king’s body.

He was done with the preparation and only the final step remained.

For one last time, the master of curses took a deep breath in as he reminisced about the tiresome life that he had led so far. In his memories, Jin Long also popped up and for a second, he felt a little disappointed that the man was already dead.

He had known the outcome since the beginning and hence tried his best not to get too attached to the man, however, in the end, he had still failed to see Jin Long as just a tool.

If he were to be completely honest with himself, somewhere along the line, he had gotten too used to Jin Long’s presence and now that the man was gone, there was a lingering sadness that haunted him.

Unfortunately, the master of curses didn’t bother wasting too much time on his useless thoughts. Pushing his feelings aside, he got ready to possess the demon king’s body.

However, he was interrupted by the sound of rushing footsteps.

With a frown on his face, the master of curses turned his head toward the direction of the sound only to be shocked to his core.

It was an army of four thousand stone puppets, all having Jie Fu Lian’s face.

What was heard next was the sound of an unknown man laughing.

"Who the hell is it?!" The master of curses gritted out as he looked around and tried to find the person who had laughed.

"So it has finally come to this," The unknown man spoke with a sigh, "I never thought I would be the one to kill you, but this is quite refreshing."

The master of curses frowned and was silent for a few minutes before he made a wild guess and questioned, "Heaven’s eye...?"

"It’s nice to meet you." Heaven’s eye stopped hiding and stepped forward, covered in thick black smoke that made it hard to even tell whether he was a man or a woman. The only way to distinguish his gender was through his voice and that was how everyone could be sure that he was a man.

The master of curses smirked as he mockingly spoke, "I’m afraid it’s too late for you to be the hero."

Heaven’s eye did not give a response to this and since his face could not be seen, it was only natural that his reaction could also not be known.

Without wasting another second, the master of curses started possessing the body of the demon king.
