The Demon Among The Knights-Chapter 27 - 26: Beyond the battlefield
Moments ago before luci’s entrance between Brian with push and pull:
Inside the bustling treatment tent, the air was thick with the scent of herbs, blood, and the faint aroma of burning wood from the battlefield outside. Injured knights, beastfolk, and warriors from various races lay sprawled on makeshift beds, their wounds raw and glistening. Groans of pain echoed, mingling with the frantic orders of overworked healers. Some patients clutched deep slashes across their torsos, while others struggled to sit upright, their limbs twisted at unnatural angles. A few bore injuries so grievous it seemed a miracle they still breathed.
In the midst of this chaos, three figures stood out. Mary, her delicate fairy wings fluttering in frustration, clung desperately to Luci’s hair, her tiny hands pulling with all the strength she could muster. On the other side, Vic, a frog-human with bulging forearms, dug his webbed fingers into Luci’s shirt and tugged, his muscles rippling with effort. Despite their combined strength, Luci strolled forward as though unbothered, his crimson eyes fixed on the tent’s exit.
"I won’t let you go to the battlefield!" Mary shouted, her voice a mix of pleading and exasperation. "Brian gave us clear orders to bring the injured here for treatment!"
"Yeah," Vic croaked, his voice deep but tinged with nervousness. "Ignoring your senior’s orders isn’t just reckless—it’s flat-out stupid!"
Luci’s gaze burned with annoyance as he finally came to a halt. "I don’t care about any ’senior orders.’ Now leave me alone."
With a single swing of his arm, Luci sent both Mary and Vic flying across the tent like ragdolls. They crashed into a pile of medical supplies, toppling bandages, potions, and herbs onto the floor. The tent shook violently, causing several injured soldiers to cry out in alarm.
"Hey! Calm down!" a gruff voice commanded, slicing through the commotion like a blade.
All eyes turned toward the entrance. A figure stepped in, silhouetted against the dim light of the battlefield beyond. As he moved closer, his features came into view—a bunny with sky-blue eyes, one ear bent and a scar etched across his right eye. Despite the carnage surrounding him, he wore an elegant jacket with long pants, the pristine fabric an almost mocking contrast to the scene of blood and dirt.
"W-What’s all this nonsense?" the bunny asked, his tone sharp yet measured.
Vic’s eyes widened, his hands trembling as he whispered, "T-That’s Bhad Bunni..."
Mary gasped, her wings fluttering uncontrollably as she floated upright. "No way... The legendary healer!"
Luci arched a brow, his crimson eyes narrowing. "Is he some kind of musician or something?"
Mary spun toward Luci, aghast. "He’s only the greatest healer in history! Fifty years ago, when healers discriminated against non-human races, he was the first to treat beastfolk and humans alike! His actions bridged a gap between races that others wouldn’t even acknowledge."
"Yeah," Vic added reverently, still on his knees. "He’s from the Bunny Race, but his mother was a blessed human—one of those born with divine healing abilities."
Bunni crossed his arms, his calm gaze sweeping over the chaos. "So? Why are you three causing such a ruckus in my tent?"
"Well, you see, sir..." Mary stammered, her cheeks flushed. "Brian ordered us to carry the injured here, but Captain Luci refused. He said he wanted to help on the battlefield."
Luci remained silent, his crimson eyes narrowing further. Help? he thought bitterly. I don’t care about helping anyone. I just want to kill those weak twins...
Bunni sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "I see. Well, I’ve been treating patients all day. If Luci is so eager to leave, I’ll take over the task of carrying the injured."
Before anyone could respond, Luci darted toward the exit, his voice trailing behind him. "Have a great day. Goodbye!"
Mary groaned, slumping against a crate. "How does Brian deal with him?"
Vic shrugged, his tone resigned. "He doesn’t. That’s why we’re here..."
Outside the Tent
Luci sprinted across the battlefield, his boots crushing charred earth and shattered armor beneath him. The metallic scent of blood filled his lungs as he scanned the chaos for his targets. "Push and Pull..." he muttered under his breath. "Where are they?"
The memory of Brian facing the twins gnawed at him. If Brian was defeated—if he was dead—Luci would finish them himself. His crimson eyes burned with bloodlust.
"Captain Luci!" a voice called out, breaking his focus.
Luci turned to see Ron, a centaur knight, galloping toward him while fending off a demon. With a powerful swing of his sword, Ron dispatched the creature before stopping next to Luci. "oh you’re the centaur I met before What are you doing out here? Are you looking for someone?"
Luci ignored the question, his gaze flicking back to the battlefield. A thought crossed his mind. If I run at full speed, I’ll cause too much destruction it may even lead to causing too much attention to me a silver knight blowing away people with just his speed. But... this guy’s a centaur. He’s built for this to carry people I mean he still a horse.
"Carry me," Luci ordered abruptly.
"What?" Ron blinked in confusion.
"Carry me on your back. When I tell you to stop, you stop. Got it?"
Before Ron could protest, Luci climbed onto his back, digging his boots into the centaur’s sides like spurs. "Let’s go, horsey!"
Ron neighed in frustration. "Stop kicking me! I’m not a real horse!"
The pair tore across the battlefield, Ron dodging enemy attacks with practiced ease. Demons lunged at them, only to be cut down by Ron’s blade or shoved aside by Luci’s sharp kicks.
"Is this the fastest you can run?" Luci complained. "I’m bored."
"We’ve almost cleared the battlefield!" Ron snapped, dodging another demon. "What more do you want?!"
A group of demons rushed toward them, their claws glinting in the dim light. "Captain Luci, hang on! I’ll take care of these—"
Before he could finish, Ron tossed Luci into the air with a mighty heave.
Luci in the Sky
Luci soared above the battlefield, his crimson eyes scanning the chaos below. Suddenly, he spotted a familiar figure in the distance—Push.
"There you are..." Luci growled, his bloodlust flaring.
With a burst of , Luci dove toward the ground the shockwave tearing the earth then he rush to push, landing a powerful kick to the demon’s chest. The force of the blow sent Push hurtling into the sky, his scream echoing across the battlefield.
"Luci?!" a familiar voice called out.
Luci turned to see Brian, alive, his weapon raised. Relief flickered across Luci’s face for a brief moment before his usual indifference returned.
"Oh, hey, Brian," Luci said nonchalantly, though his mind raced. So he’s still alive I thought they would have killed him and he is not injured after all they’re weak I had high expectations...
The Present:
Brian glared at Luci, his voice filled with disbelief. "What are you doing here? And how did you send Push flying like that?"
Luci smirked, brushing dust off his coat. "Princess Lily enhanced my boots," he lied smoothly. "No time to explain."
Before Brian could question further, Luci leapt into the air, a shockwave erupting beneath him and knocking Brian to the ground.
"What’s Princess Lily doing here?" Brian muttered, pushing himself up. "When did she arrive on the battlefield?"
A second voice interrupted him. "Don’t forget about me," Pull sneered, stepping forward.
Brian turned to face him, his weapon at the ready. "Finally... a one-on-one fight. Let’s finish this."
Battles on All Fronts
Elsewhere, Daniel faced off against the dark-winged demon, his blades clashing with his wing hand causing violent sparks. The demon’s wings moved like an extension of his body, slashing through the air with deadly precision.
"You know your illusions don’t work on me," Daniel said, parrying another attack. "So stop stalling and fight me seriously."
The demon sneered. "As you wish."
Not far away, Brianna battled another winged demon, her movements sharp despite her head bowed down . "So you’re still going to fight with your head bowed?" the demon taunted.
Brianna tied her blue ribbon which was in her hair around her face to close her eyes . "No," she replied calmly. "I’m going to fight without seeing you."
Their weapons collided, sending shockwaves rippling across the battlefield.
A Battle Beyond Earth
Meanwhile, Luci pursued Push into the sky, their battle escalating with each passing second. Then luci grabbed his head and hit a rock— moon. Push’s smirk faltered as he head hit the moon’s surface destroying little craters of the moon . The he realized they were no longer within Earth’s atmosphere.
"Where... where are we?!" Push gasped, clutching his chest as the air grew thin.
Luci grinned, his crimson eyes glowing ominously. "We’re on the moon. A battle on the moon will be legendary. Right now, let’s make it a legendary battle. No, you won’t even be able to lay a finger on me—it will be legendary bullying," he said coldly.
