[POV: Kairos]- (Caspian team)

A voice, deep and resonant, rumbled through the air before the temperature in the room dropped.

The very fabric of reality seemed to twist, and then—it appeared.

In the far corner of the room, the shadows stretched unnaturally, curling into a shape that defied logic. Two immense, cosmic eyes opened within the darkness, glowing with the light of dying stars. The presence was both immense and distant, like something that shouldn't exist in this world yet did anyway.

The Celestial Beast had arrived.

"You are troubled, child."

Kairos exhaled sharply, rubbing his temples. "You think?"

He turned his gaze to the being before him, arms crossed.

He was used to its presence. It had been with him for as long as he could remember, but even now, he did not know its name.

Nor did he know what it truly was.

But if there was one thing he did know, it was that this creature never spoke without reason.

Kairos leaned forward. "Why did you tell me to join Caspian's team?"

The Celestial Beast remained silent for a long moment. Then, its vast form shifted.

"Because his very existence is a lie."

Kairos frowned. "What the hell does that mean?"

The beast's eyes pulsed.

"I mean exactly what I said. This world rejects him. Every force, every rule, every law bends unnaturally around his presence. As if trying to erase him."

Kairos's breath hitched for just a moment.

This wasn't the first time the Celestial Beast had spoken cryptic nonsense to him—but this time, it felt different.

He thought back to Caspian.

Something about that guy had been off from the moment they met.

But… that wasn't enough to justify this.

Kairos narrowed his eyes. "If the world is trying to harm him, then why the hell would you tell me to join him? Shouldn't I be staying as far away as possible?"

The Celestial Beast's glowing eyes dimmed, as if amused.

"That is precisely why you must get closer."

Kairos tensed.

"We do not yet understand what he is… or what he might become. And so, we watch. We observe."

Kairos clicked his tongue. "You say 'we' as if I'm a part of whatever game you're playing."

The Celestial Beast said nothing.

Kairos ran a hand through his hair, "And you still refuse to tell me why you're with me in the first place?"

The cosmic being tilted its massive head.

"At some point, you will find yourself."

Kairos scowled. "That's not an answer."

"It is the only one you will get."

And with that, the Celestial Beast's form collapsed inward, vanishing like a star fading from the night sky. The room instantly returned to normal—warmth, light, stillness.

But the weight in Kairos's chest remained.

He let out a slow breath.

This damn thing had been with him his whole life.

It spoke to him in riddles, and yet—his own parents refused to tell him anything about it.

What was this pact he had been born into?

And more importantly—why was he starting to feel like Caspian was a piece of the answer?

[POV: Fianna Redmond]

The lecture hall was filled with murmurs as students settled into their seats.

Fianna Redmond sat with her arms crossed.

Thirty teams had finally been formed.

At the front of the room, Elara, their home-room instructor, stood with her usual composed demeanor.

She tapped the podium lightly, and behind her, the projector screen came to life.

"Now that all the teams have been finalized, let's go over the formations one last time."

The large screen flickered, displaying each team in sequence.

The first few were standard formations, mostly balanced squads with no notable powerhouses. But as the stronger teams appeared, the murmurs grew.

Finally, Fianna's own team appeared on the screen.

---

[Team-12: The Achiever Team]

Vynesaa El'Leather.

Fianna Redmond

Seraphina Veyra

Lyria Faelan

Naomi Halstead

---

Fianna exhaled slightly. Not bad.

Their team was solid. An elven princess, a duelist, a mermaid princess mage, a spirit healer, and herself—the wielder of Phoenix Fire.

It was a formation built for both offense and endurance.

The screen shifted again.

Team-18: The Onlookers

Darian Vera

Oliver Atticus

Kaidon Reeves (Spear wielder )

Marin Ashford (Lightning mage)

Zexin Corvus (assassin)

---

This one caught her attention. A balanced and dangerous team.

She glanced towards the middle rows, where Darian and his teammates sat, quietly watching the display. They knew their strengths. It wouldn't be easy facing them.

Then, the next name flashed onto the screen.

---

Team-27: Team Z

Caspian Arcwright

Lyrius Ryder

Calenthir Reyes

Vera Aedent (A ranged specialist)

Kairos Velheim

---

The room went silent for a moment.

This team was… unexpected.

A strange mix of talents, yet filled with individuals who stood out in one way or another.

Fianna's gaze flickered toward Caspian, who remained expressionless.

No one knew exactly what he was capable of, but he had drawn powerful allies to his side.

A smirk formed on her lips. Interesting.

The projector flickered off.

Elana clapped her hands once, drawing the attention of the room.

"Now that the teams are set, let me explain how things will proceed."

The hum of conversation quieted.

"Starting next week, we will hold team battles once every three days."

Fianna leaned forward slightly. This was it.

"These battles will not just test your strength but also your teamwork, strategy, and ability to adapt. Winning or losing here will directly affect your future at this academy."

Elana paused, letting her words settle.

"At the end of two months, the top five teams will be granted permission to enter an S-rank mission."

Gasps filled the room. An A-rank mission. Even among the strongest students, such opportunities were rare.

"Furthermore," Elana continued, "a total of eight teams will be selected for the mission. The first five will be the highest-ranking teams, while the remaining three will be chosen based on the highest individual kill counts from the losing teams."

Murmurs erupted at this revelation.

This meant that even if a team wasn't in the top five, an individual with exceptional performance could still advance.

"But there is a price for failure."

Elana's voice turned sharp.

"The lowest three teams will be demoted to A-Section, while the top three teams from A-Section will take their place in the S Class."

That statement alone sent a shockwave through the students.

No one wanted to be demoted....
