That was the only thing that kept repeating the whole time, and they belonged to only one person, who seemed to be a woman.
There were many other different sounds.
The sound of flames burning flesh and boiling blood.

Someone getting slapped and whipped.
And disturbing sounds that Dante recognized immediately. They were sounds that reminded him of his time with his teacher who he killed.
"Sir Valor, I’m not even her father and I already want to choke you to death."
Valor smiled: "I want to choke myself to death too. That’s completely normal."
Despite the pain he felt, Zaragoza continued watching the record.
He wanted to burn the scroll immediately... but he couldn’t. He had to see the whole thing.
He failed as her father, after all.
If he couldn’t even watch it, then what about her, who had to endure that torture because of him?
He had to remember every second, to remember his failure as a father, and remember the man who was smiling in front of him despite everything!
"Valor... I’ll kill you with my own hands. Just wait!" Zaragoza hissed after watching and burning the scroll. His mood couldn’t be any worse.
Valor shrugged: "You can just give me your Crown of Existence and end everything, you know. But you seem to care about that useless kingdom more than your family. You’re truly heartless and cruel."
"I HATE YOU!" Zaragoza hissed and started scanning the barrier, as though he were looking for a weak point.
Valor laughed: "You will need at least two weeks to destroy it. That’s enough time for us to build a base here... well, or so was the plan."
Sighing in frustration, Valor explained: "For some reason, the abyssal gate is still expanding. If the abyssal entities see such a big gate, they’ll be attracted to it and come in big numbers like ants!!"
Suddenly, he pointed at Dante: "If this isn’t enough, this brat here decided to open a chaos gate! Our plans will be delayed because of him, Zara, DELAYED! Oh, isn’t this ironic? Your kingdom hates chaos users so much, yet you received some help from one of them. Maybe you guys should change your ideologies a little."
Zaragoza looked at Dante and the chaos gate with wide eyes. Before he could say anything, Valor grabbed Dante’s hair and dragged him away.
"Anyway, I’ll punish this brat now. We can continue chatting later. Oh, also, you’re wasting your time here. If I were you, I’d check if Uldor was trying to open other abyssal gates."
As Valor dragged Dante closer to the abyssal gate, Dante looked at the abyssal gate with an anxious expression: "Can’t you send me there without using the abyssal gate? I’m not comfortable with going there..."
"Hahaha!" Valor burst into laughter: "Kid, the correctional facility of Uldor is found in the Abyss! You should get used to it."
"Huh?"
Before Dante could react, Valor threw him into the expanding darkness pillar.
Afterward, he looked at Zaragoza and raised his middle finger: "REMEMBER, YOU CAN ALWAYS HAND ME YOUR CROWN AND END EVERYTHING!"
Without waiting to see his reaction, Valor followed Dante and jumped into the abyssal gate.

’In the end, I failed, huh?’
Inside the abyssal gate, Dante sighed in frustration.
He felt like he was drowning in a slimy, dark liquid.
He was falling endlessly until he lost his sense of time.
He couldn’t see anything.
He couldn’t breathe anymore.
And he felt intense pressure crushing his body.
It was as though he was drowning deep in the ocean, facing the pressure of the depths. Or maybe it was as if the gravity had increased, being significantly heavier on his body than usual.
But none of that mattered.
Seizing the opportunity while Valor wasn’t there, Dante quickly summoned Ring of Greed and used it to store Raga’s spatial storage, which had been in his stomach.
Somehow, Ring of Greed stored it normally, just like how it stored the spatial pouch.
He could check it later... after seeing that prison.
Amidst the darkness, the only thing Dante could see was the figure of a centipede, looking at him mockingly.
It was because the centipede existed in Dante’s mind, not as a physical being. Even if Dante closed his eyes, he’d still see him.
And that centipede... he was the winner in the end.
After everything, Dante ended up in the Abyss.
Wasn’t that what Greed expected?
Maybe Dante wouldn’t have ended up here if he just tried to escape instead of opening a chaos gate. But he didn’t regret it.
The chaos gate was something that Greed could never predict. And it was only the beginning.
’Wait, can’t I just swap with Fafnir?’
As soon as that thought formed in his mind, Greed nodded: "Yes, you can. But only now. Once you pass through this tunnel and be officially in the Abyss, you’ll lose connection to Terra and wouldn’t even be able to see through Fafnir’s eyes."
"Well, unfortunately, your ability has a cooldown! You can only send him a final message."
Dante sighed again: ’I see.’
’Fafnir, don’t kill yourself. I want you to get as many resources as you can. Win the competition, use Ruby’s ability, or whatever you want. You are free to do anything now.’
’I will return later.’
After a few moments, he suddenly lost connection to Fafnir’s senses, but not completely.
He could still sense Fafnir’s existence. He knew that Fafnir was alive. Additionally, the shared stats were also there. Fafnir would always grow stronger alongside Dante.
’So, I’m officially there, huh?’
Dante couldn’t blame anyone but himself.
It was completely his fault. Everything that happened was his fault.
’But I’ll change myself, and make them all regret!’
Greed, the dark entity, Valor, and they all were going to regret it.
It was only a matter of time.
"Big dreams, huh?" Greed cleared his throat and said: "Now, let me welcome you properly to your real home, Dante. The place that you belong to."
"Welcome to the realm of chaos and darkness."
"Welcome to the hometown of the abyssal beings and the otherworldly invaders, and what was created after the great war."
"The land of death and radiation."
"The land of no pathetic morals."
"The land that Tolerances no weakness."
"Where no light exists, where no safety is left."

Anyone, that’s just some random talk. You can skip immediately to the gains and losses, or, if you are lazy to read them, just go to the next Chapter.
So, the volume finally ended. You might ask, what is the meaning of falling into the depths of the abyss, right?
Simply, it has two meanings. The first is the current Chapter in which Dante literally fall into the Abyss, and the second is Dante’s state.
Greed had stated that he’d enjoy watching Dante falling into the depths of the Abyss, and he had the two meanings on consideration when he said that.
The Chapters with this title, obviously, are the Chapters that drove Dante deeper into madness and accepting his true abyssal self. Dante isn’t a villain, yes, but he isn’t meant to be a kind hero either. The whole purpose of this volume was turning him into an insane guy. This will change later, but for now, the naive, kind Dante can’t be recognised.
What you’re going to see next is completely different from the start of the novel. He is still holding some kindness, but it won’t affect his thoughts anymore.
As for the volume name, Greed, that’s a bit obvious. Use your reading comprehension!
It’s about Greed, the man behind everything and his continuous manipulation. From the start, everything went as he desired almost perfectly.
It’s about Greed, Dante’s bloodline and true nature. Greed is a dangerous sin, but hypocrisy is deadly for you and the close ones. Dante is forced to accept it, but it’s up to him whether he benefits from his greedy nature and control it, or get controlled by his greed and fail to achieve anything.
Anyway, that was just some random yapping. Next volume will be a bit darker, and it’s planned to be the start of the romance (Hopefully), and Dante getting his first reason to truly live. I hope you enjoy it.
Oh, and I repeat, it might be a bit darker than comfortable (Maybe, I might change my plans), so I hope I don’t hear anyone complaining.
