Chapter 1220: Mirror of Pride

Gao Yang started. Wang Zikai was too quick. How was that different from teleportations?

Well, it was different. It would take at least 0.6 seconds for Gao Yang to teleport a second time, while Wang Zikai wasn’t restricted in the same way.

Gao Yang couldn’t do anything as he watched Wang Zikai approach. With a speed rivaling that of making a shot with level 7 God of Firearms, Wang Zikai grabbed Gao Yang’s hand, covering his sight. At the same time, a smooth, resilient golden wall emerged behind him.

One hand still in his pocket, Wang Zikai slammed Gao Yang’s head into the wall.

Bam! Gao Yang shattered in an instant—not his head broken and his brain scattered, but the whole being shattering into energy particles. They bloomed into beautiful patterns on the golden wall like drizzling rain rippling on a lake's surface.

The golden wall vanished into a center point the way an old television looked when unplugged. Wang Zikai stood hovering in the air and slowly looked to the side.

A tall, slim figure perched on top of a red broken pillar a hundred meters away; it was the real Gao Yang. He had almost been killed unceremoniously. Fortunately, he had created a double beforehand and swapped with it the moment Wang Zikai grabbed him, escaping death by a hair.

Wang Zikai looked at him, visibly disappointed.

By simply raising his left hand, the space above his head seemed to solidify, freezing the swarm of poisonous wind, light arrows, wind blades, and purple crystal spears raining upon him. He made a swinging motion with his bent index finger and middle finger.

Boom! The array of elemental attacks above him grew tenfold in power and flew in the reverse direction, pouring down like vibrant fireworks of different colors.

It was the ultimate form of Left Hand of God.

Outside of rule-based and spiritual attacks, Wang Zikai could catch and reflect any attack he saw, and with its power amplified by several times. With the annoying flies driven away, Wang Zikai turned back to Gao Yang.

Anticipation faded from his eyes, leaving only derision and disgust. “In the end, you’ve become pathetic insects just like them.”

“Watch, Gao Yang...” Wang Zikai brushed his messy blond hair back, the patterns in his eyes darkening, “Watch what a pathetic end you have chosen.”

He aimed his right hand at Gao Yang’s forehead in a finger gun.

[Warning, you are staring into the abyss.]

[Luck points acquisition rate increases to 50000 times, still rising...]

Before the system could finish its warning, Gao Yang rotated the ring on his finger.

Equivalent exchange, triple buff!

The instant Gao Yang vanished, Wang Zikai’s index finger shot a golden laser at his original position.

A second of stillness later, the golden thread expanded sideways to form a translucent golden mirror parallel to the ground. The vast, boundless surface cut the night sky in half.

With a haughty expression and a dignified voice, Wang Zikai uttered, “Mirror of Pride.”

The mirror unleashed an incredible force and pulled everyone toward it like meteorites caught in a celestial body’s gravity. Nainai, Hong Xiaoxiao, Adept Horse, White Dew, and Gregor were forced to come out of Invisibility. Hands linked, they dangled in the air, yanked into a straight line by the pull.

“Aghhh!”

Nainai was at the far end of the line. With level 7 Gale and Gravity, she struggled hard against the incredible gravity of the golden mirror. Adept Horse turned on the boosters under his feet to provide what little support he could.

Even so, the line of five was still falling.

“Let go!”

Hong Xiaoxiao could see that if Nainai tried to save all five of them, she would end up saving none.

“This Empress...can...hold on...” Nainai clenched her teeth with a pained look on her face.

“Don’t give up—” Adept Horse shouted.

Hong Xiaoxiao flashed them a grateful smile with tears in her eyes.

Gao Yang had told her that she was now a senior member of the Nine Scions, no longer the newbie who couldn’t do anything in her workplace. And as a senior, she should act like one.

A shadow sliced Adept Horse’s wrist, forcing him to let go.

Hong Xiaoxiao, White Dew, and Gregor plummeted toward the blinding golden plane below.

“Phantom!”

Wings of shadow unfurled from her back and formed a cocoon to shield the three of them. Two seconds later, the black stone hit the golden lake, creating a great ripple of golden patterns.

Instead of sinking, though, they ended up stuck to the lake's surface instead. Phantom retracted involuntarily. Hong Xiaoxiao, White Dew, and Gregor were on their knees, faces distorted with anguish.

They wanted to stand up, but it felt as if an entire palace was on their backs, preventing them from even looking up.

Blond hair rustling, Wang Zikai sauntered upon the golden surface, his footfalls rippling like he was walking on water.

With Wang Zikai approaching, White Dew resolved herself and entered her second form with tremendous energy drawn at the price of her life. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm

“Agh!”

Her body melted into purple water and rushed out of her clothes. The fabric fell to the golden surface and flattened like a stencil due to the incredible gravity, while the undulating purple current fought the mirror’s pull.

Failing in the struggle, the water fell in a parabolic trajectory.
