Chapter 119: Chapter 119: Too Good at Making Things Up

Vera Xavier pouted and comforted herself with the thought that she was still young and had plenty of room to grow. After all, in her previous life, her chest had been quite impressive.

Vera Xavier then thought she must be going crazy. ’Nathaniel Nathan only made one little comment. Why am I having such a big reaction?’

She shook her head, pushed open the door, and went home.

A special exam had been arranged for her today, so she got out of school a little later than usual. On top of that, she had lingered for a while with Nathaniel Nathan. By the time she got home, Zachary Preston was surprisingly already back from work. He was in the kitchen chopping bones for soup, and Rona Langdon was washing vegetables. Seeing Vera enter, Rona immediately rolled her eyes at her. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Vera Xavier greeted Zachary Preston and carried her schoolbag into her room. Before she even had a chance to unpack it, she heard Zachary Preston say cheerfully, "Nathaniel, you’re here! Quick, have a seat!"

Rona Langdon added gleefully, "We’re so happy just to have you visit, and yet you brought so many gifts!"

Nathaniel Nathan replied in a mild tone, "Grandpa mentioned that Vera’s college entrance exams are coming up soon and that eating more fruit would be good for her. I happened to be passing by, so I thought I’d drop some off."

Vera Xavier mentally slapped a "hypocrite" label on Nathaniel Nathan. ’Happened to be passing by? With such a knack for spinning tales, he should be a novelist!’

Rona Langdon’s voice drifted over, "Oh my, there are two papayas! What a rare treat!"

Vera Xavier’s face instantly flushed red. ’This isn’t about dropping off papayas! He’s clearly here just to make fun of me!’

Zachary Preston’s voice called from downstairs, "Vera, Nathaniel is here! Come on down!"

Vera Xavier retreated into her room and called out, "Dad, I have to study!"

Zachary Preston gave an embarrassed laugh. Nathaniel Nathan said calmly, "I’ll go check on her. If there’s anything she doesn’t understand, I can help her out."

Zachary Preston immediately said, "That’s a great idea! I’d almost forgotten—Nathaniel, you were the top scorer in the province for the college entrance exam! With you to guide her, Vera’s grades are sure to improve even more."

Rona Langdon grew displeased. "The one who really needs tutoring right now is Cara..."

Zachary Preston shot her a glare. Her face clouded over with displeasure, but she didn’t say anything more in front of Nathaniel Nathan. She only cursed Cara in her head for being an idiot. ’How could she miss such a perfect opportunity to get close to Nathaniel Nathan?’

Nathaniel Nathan knew which room was Vera Xavier’s, but this was the first time he had come to it so openly and legitimately. He suddenly had the feeling of having finally made his way into her inner sanctum.

He walked up to Vera Xavier’s door and was about to knock when it swung open. He leaned against the doorframe and asked, "May I come in?"

Vera Xavier knew he was only saying that for Zachary Preston and Rona Langdon to hear. She was starting to get a basic understanding of his true nature. ’Deep down, this guy is a wolf in human skin.’

She glared at him. Unfazed, he said, "Which problem are you stuck on? Let me help you."

As soon as he said it, he leaned down and kissed her right on the lips.

Vera Xavier really wanted to let out a string of curses.

Although Nathaniel Nathan loved her sweet taste, he ultimately knew his limits. He was well aware they were in her house, so he simply cupped the back of her head, gave her one kiss, and let go.

Then he whispered softly in her ear, "That’s to pay you back for the kiss you gave me this morning."

Vera Xavier was so exasperated she wanted to cry. ’This guy really knows how to hold a grudge!’

Nathaniel Nathan sat right down on her bed. Although he had slept in this bed for one night before, the feeling this time was completely different.
