The Celibate Tycoon Has Fallen-Chapter 64: Branded as Fallen
Hailey Jenkins could only go along with it, but inside she thought, why are you so angry here then?
Don’t say you’re not mad, the air around could almost crackle and spark.
...
At The Summit Gardens, Nancy took the milk handed over by Josephine, "He hasn’t returned yet."
"The young master went to The Sovereign Club."
Nancy’s fingers tightened slightly, "Do all men like places like that?"
She choked on her words, and Josephine quickly consoled her, "Sometimes it’s for business, they can’t help it. Yelena Hughes went there today too, they ran into each other."
"Really?" Nancy’s tone was cheerful upon hearing this, "How did it go?"
"It was quite a scene. The young master wanted to help her, but she refused for the ten thousand bucks from Master Thorne." Josephine found it amusing, her lips curled up, "Miss, you should’ve done this sooner. Now it’s Shawn Thorne who stepped in, has nothing to do with you, you just enjoy the show."
Nancy took a sip of the warm milk, previously she was too eager to succeed, didn’t think things over, now she’s learned a lesson, so she would of course step back a bit.
"Josephine, what if he investigates why Yelena Hughes returned to The Sovereign Club, what then?"
Josephine had it all planned, "She went back because she thinks she can make quick money there, don’t worry, no matter how deep his feelings might be, the young master won’t investigate thoroughly."
Nancy thought so too, Yelena Hughes has already been tagged as fallen, what could Jasper Yale see in her?
Tonight, surprisingly, Shawn Thorne didn’t make things difficult for Yelena Hughes, nor did he ask her to wear any cheongsam, just had a couple of drinks with her.
When the event ended, he handed Yelena Hughes the ten thousand bucks.
She held it in her hand, it felt quite heavy.
Ninety-nine thousand more.
Shawn noticed her face was still a bit swollen, "Does your face... still hurt?"
Yelena Hughes shook her head, "No, it doesn’t."
With skin so delicate, how could it not hurt? Shawn picked up a nearby coat, letting Yelena Hughes leave first.
She clutched the stack of money, when she pushed the door into the lounge, she saw it was filled with people.
Chester was smoking heavily, the room was filled with a strong smoke smell, but none of the lined-up girls dared to make a sound.
"Is it over?" Chester asked her.
Yelena Hughes nodded, "Why isn’t anyone leaving?"
Chester stubbed out her cigarette, took a few steps forward, and pulled out the woman who had tattled earlier. She shouted in pain, "Chester, please be gentle."
Chester slapped her, her hair coming loose.
The woman’s scream was stuck in her throat, followed by two more slaps.
Chester grabbed her hair, facing her towards everyone, "Didn’t I tell you? Everyone who comes here, who isn’t forced by circumstances? No one is nobler than the other, if you’re a loose bunch yourselves, don’t blame clients for not treating you like humans!"
It was Yelena Hughes’s first time seeing Chester so furious.
The woman was so frightened she didn’t dare move, her face not only swollen, but her eyes were too.
Chester leaned to the side, "Line up, take turns slapping her until Mimi tells you to stop."
Yelena Hughes walked into the dressing room with a cold expression, when she came out after changing clothes, the woman was bleeding profusely, Yelena Hughes shoved the money into her bag and locked the locker door.
"I won’t tell you to stop, keep going."
After saying this, she headed out.
Madeline followed her out. As they exited The Sovereign Club, Yelena Hughes finally managed a smile.
"Madeline, guess how much I earned today?"
When Yelena Hughes was suspected of stealing the watch, Madeline was in a private room, though she hadn’t seen it firsthand, she heard about it later.
Tears welled up the moment she spoke, "How much?"
"Ten thousand."
Madeline held back, not to cry, but her lip trembled fiercely. Yelena Hughes saw her eyes were reddening, "Don’t cry, your tears are really worthless."
"Yelena, I’m kind of overwhelmed, a million!"
"Think of it this way, it’s only been a day, and we made ten thousand."
Madeline truly felt Yelena Hughes was born to embrace the sun. No matter how heavy the stones weighing her down, as long as there was a crack, she would claw her way, fight her way out.
So good, so beautiful.
In a place like The Sovereign Club, troubles are bound to happen, but Yelena Hughes steadfastly believes that as long as she stays a bit out of the way, some things can be avoided.
Yet fate, much like gears, loves most to toy with people.
Aaron Payne’s birthday party was set at The Sovereign Club, both to celebrate himself and to celebrate Nancy waking up.
Having received an invitation, Nancy would naturally attend.
Both the dress and shoes were haute couture, just delivered to her hands. She wheeled herself to the mirror, "Does this look good?"
"It looks good."
"You didn’t even look carefully, just being perfunctory," Nancy grasped the corner of Jasper’s jacket, a bit worried, "There will be a lot of people, I’m a little scared."
"It’s booked out, nothing to fear," Jasper knew what she was thinking, "I’ll carry you inside, no one will see."
Nancy was also excited, "It’s been a long time since I saw my friends, it’s time to go out for a bit."
"Yes."
Booking a night at The Sovereign Club isn’t cheap, but these rich young masters are never short of money.
Aaron was selecting names from a list, not recognizing anyone, "Pick the most beautiful ones then."
"Okay," Chester replied.
Aaron inadvertently glanced over the booklet, noticing a name, "This one’s good, Mimi, call her in."
Chester really didn’t know if having a name given by Jasper was a blessing or a curse for Yelena Hughes.
Aaron wasn’t a familiar face at The Sovereign Club, and Chester didn’t realize he knew Jasper, and had Yelena Hughes in charge of delivering the cake that night.
A group of people entered the private room first, already engaged in play.
Yelena Hughes carefully pushed the three-tiered cake to the door of the private room, she knocked.
"Come in." A male voice came through, Yelena Hughes pushed open the door, the private room was very dark, with only two ambient lights illuminating a secluded corner.
Yelena Hughes could only see the crowd, but couldn’t make out any faces.
She was dressed differently from the other ladies today, wearing knee-high heeled boots and a form-fitting spaghetti-strap dress.
This material, with any bit of excess weight, is hard to pull off.
Yelena Hughes lit the candles on the cake, the candlelight flickered gently, but due to the distance from the sofas, she saw men and women sitting there, yet still couldn’t clearly see their faces.
She began twisting her waist to dance, with no dance foundation, her movements were somewhat stiff.
Fortunately, her body was hot enough, just a little wiggle could attract attention.
"Happy birthday." she said while waving her arms.
Yelena Hughes finally finished her dance, those two minutes were truly tormenting.
She walked to the side and turned on the big light in the private room.
The overhead light spilled down, illuminating every face, including the one of Jasper she recognized at once, and Nancy beside him.
Nancy looked at her in shock.
"Isn’t that Miss Hughes?"
