Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Shattering Her Hope Right Before Her Eyes

She realized Jasper Yale had taken a step back and wanted to get up, but the man gently patted her waist, "Be good."

Yelena Hughes had to lie back down.

Jasper Yale walked over with the cue stick, and when he bent down, she caught a glimpse of the firm muscles stretching into his waistband.

Yelena Hughes was unwilling to give in; she was determined to fight to the end.

"The Yale Family and Alden Family are in an alliance through marriage. If these photos get amplified by public opinion, even if the Young Master Sutton doesn’t care, you still have to consider the public’s view when walking outside, right?"

Jasper Yale didn’t let her get up, Yelena Hughes obediently lay down, and with a powerful strike, the red billiard ball rolled swiftly.

If it hit Yelena Hughes’s head, it would surely hurt. She clenched her hand, a sense of humiliation surged from deep within her bones.

The ball ended up hitting her right in the chest.

She heard Jasper Yale laugh, "Not bad at all."

Yelena Hughes’s face flushed red as Jasper Yale walked forward a few steps.

His voice turned cold, his expression followed suit. "Threatening me?"

"Young Master, it’s just a few boxes of medicine; once it’s officially released, I won’t bother you anymore."

But Jasper Yale was unwilling to give them.

"You better not think about those photos anymore. If they do get exposed, the Alden Family will be the first not to spare you."

Yelena Hughes propped herself up, her eyes calm, "I’ve prepared for the worst."

"And yet you still dare to come to me?"

This man, so sharp and indifferent, stared at her fixedly, making Yelena Hughes’s lips pale; her face looked as if made of paper.

She pulled at the corners of her mouth, but her smile was hard to maintain.

"If I don’t try, I’ll only wait to collect my sister’s body."

Her voice trembled slightly.

Yet Jasper Yale, such a cold-blooded person.

The life and death of others couldn’t penetrate his hardened heart. "All I need is you, such a simple thing – give yourself to me and you can save your sister."

His words were casual.

But that rift from a year ago in Yelena Hughes had never healed.

Her voice turned pale, "Then, I can only wait to collect my own body."

Jasper Yale gazed into Yelena Hughes’s eyes, finding no trace of light there.

He sat on the edge of the pool table, casually picked up a ball and placed it in his palm.

The man’s fingers stretched out, grasped the ball tightly, loosened, then squeezed again hard.

Yelena Hughes’s breathing tightened, certain memories resurfaced, making her feel nailed to a pillar of shame.

Jasper Yale clicked his tongue lightly, "A bit stiff."

After rubbing it once, he threw the ball back onto the table.

His words of ’rolling’ hadn’t been uttered before Hailey Jenkins rushed up.

"Young Master, Justin Sutton barged in, and the bodyguards couldn’t stop him."

Yelena Hughes was still calculating how to continue negotiating, unexpectedly having to face Justin Sutton here.

Her gaze towards Jasper Yale finally showed wavering, "Don’t let him up."

She couldn’t face him, even with ten mouths she couldn’t explain.

But Yelena Hughes already heard the footsteps closing in, reaching the second floor, "Hey Yale, where are you?"

Jasper Yale saw Yelena Hughes anxiously looking around, realizing there was nowhere to hide, pointed kindly towards a door.

Yelena Hughes didn’t doubt him, quickly walked over.

Once inside, she found it was a bedroom; she turned to leave but was grabbed by Jasper Yale who had followed her in.

"Where are you going, in such a hurry – to say hi to him?"

Jasper Yale dragged her into the bathroom, Yelena Hughes struggled intensely, "What are you doing?"

He didn’t shut the door, went straight to the jacuzzi, and turned the water on.

"Helping you." 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Justin Sutton rushed directly upstairs, but Hailey Jenkins blocked him, "Young Master Sutton, Young Yale isn’t here."

"Don’t try fooling me."

Justin Sutton perked up his ears, hearing the sound of water, and walked hastily towards the bedroom.

Yelena Hughes felt like she was about to be caught in a scandal, pressed tightly against the wall, full of tension.

Justin Sutton stepped into the bathroom, which was incredibly spacious, unable to see the end scenery of the bathroom at a glance.

Jasper Yale glanced towards the door.

"I’m bathing, you want to watch?"

Yelena Hughes held her breath, fearing Justin Sutton might walk further in, leaving her with no place to hide.

Justin Sutton halted his steps, "You know why I came."

Jasper Yale saw the water was about to overflow, raised his hand to turn off the tap.

"I can’t give it."

"Damn it, we’ve been friends for so many years, and you can’t even give me such a small favor?" Justin Sutton cursed outside, "How many times have I been shut out by you, it’s just a few lousy boxes of medicine?"

Yelena Hughes listened to every word echoing into her ears. Even though Justin Sutton didn’t get the medicine, it didn’t mean he wasn’t helping her.

Jasper Yale watched Yelena Hughes’s rising and falling chest, took down the showerhead, turned on the water and sprayed it on her face.

Yelena Hughes, caught off guard, took in a mouthful of water, almost choking.

Jasper Yale’s palm covered her mouth, his thin lips pressed against her ear.

"Don’t make a noise, aren’t you afraid that Justin Sutton will see you like this?"

His words carried a slight tease, the water spraying from the showerhead soaked Yelena Hughes’s blouse, her face blooming like a delicate blossom after rain...

Jasper Yale’s breathing tightened, Justin Sutton outside seemed to hear something.

"Jasper Yale, have you hidden someone here?"

Jasper Yale smirked, "Yes, hidden a woman, do you want to see?"

Yelena Hughes suspected Jasper Yale wanted to ruin her completely, shook her head at him.

Even if she begged with her eyes, Jasper Yale wouldn’t pity her.

Coming to negotiate with photos, could such a person be anything good?

"You really hid someone?"

Jasper Yale pressed close to Yelena Hughes’s ear, bit down on it, causing her to almost cry out, her body curled up as she instinctively tore at his shirt.

Justin Sutton sensed something amiss, stepped further in, Jasper Yale let go, Yelena Hughes lowered her head, buried her face against him.

Jasper Yale shielded her completely, the bathroom filled with steam, he spoke without turning his head.

"Who let you in?"

Justin Sutton failed to see a woman, stepped back a few paces, "I’m discussing serious matters with you, give me the medicine and I’ll leave now, won’t interrupt your business."

Jasper Yale’s hand grazed the nape of Yelena Hughes’s neck, fingers dove into her collar.

"Seems like you’re serious about that woman."

Yelena Hughes shivered in his embrace, she didn’t hear Justin Sutton’s answer, instead heard Jasper Yale continue.

"The medicine, I won’t give it to you; it’s not officially released yet, if something goes wrong, will you be responsible?" His voice carried a chilling calm.

"Justin Sutton, for her sister’s rescue, risking everything is no big deal. But you, is it worth it?"

Justin Sutton’s scalp tingled, "What do you mean?"

"What if this medicine doesn’t work, or worse, her sister takes it and dies? Who do you think she’d hate?"

Yelena Hughes dared not make a sound; the rising temperature beneath the steam was unstoppable.

She didn’t believe this talk would shake Justin Sutton, knowing how important Heart Protection Peace was to her.

After a long while, there was no conversation from outside.

Jasper Yale was a top-notch expert, never hesitating when grasping human nature.

"Still want it?"
